New: wenyard.com - coupled with TOWAH bank - suspect foul business?

Hello,

I'm new here. Can you let me know what you think about this pre-launch? I was approached by a friend of mine but I smell foul game.
I must say it looks very professional but they were a few things that I found a bit strange like the Towah bank, getting paid...
They are based in Malta & Gilbratar under Leonardo Virtual Properties Ltd.

They present themselves as being:

When you register you get a number via the Towah bank based in the U.K. I haven't enrolled yet because the bank was not accepting MasterCard only Visa and there was nothing with PayPal payment which I found strange. This is when I started to do some research on Towah because Wenyard is brand new so of course there is nothing yet on this company (how convenient) but with Towah I found your website.

I have included in attachment a PDF of Wenyard company presentation.

I'd like to hear from those who know the story of Towah.

First off all it is a very risky "virtual stock game." An e-wallet may never pay out a dime. Also, it is obviously based on heavy recruiting. That MLM structure will dictate that most of the marks (97%b +) will sustain losses. I would advise hanging on tightly to one's wallet and running fast and hard!

They are based in Gibraltar, so you should expect to have zero recourse. The only form of contact is this e-mail. And, you are dealing with brilliant kids that are playing a game, seriously?

* The program is an obvious ponzi / pyramid hybrid.

* Towah is currently under a cloud, with The Newcastle Building Society bank (NBS) petitioning Norways' Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) to investigate Towah over an allegedly missing $8.9million

Reminds me of the first ponzi of this type - StockGeneration ,

was launched online in 1998, behind it was Sergey Mavrodi - the russian biggest ponzi mastermind.

After some legal pressure they got a gambling license in Dominica, never-less it did not stop US SEC to act against it.

This precedent was historically important as if a ponzi scheme can hide under a gambling license or not.
At first SEC even lost the case, but won the Appeal.

Ha-ha, I should tell Mavrodi he should fight their patent for "prior art"

Intrade, was pretty popular in the the betting world on the outcomes of various news events. It was often quoted in the major press to show which way the winds were blowing. So to call this the "first ever" game based on real world events seems a stretch. More to the point, since non virtual money is involved and what appears to be the solicitation of investments, I doubt it is legal in many jurisdictions.

There are any number of trading contests that go on in a given year, you can join those for free. And who knows you could hit the jackpot, apparently one of our posters is ranked 50 in the world in such contests.




Online prediction betting site Intrade has shut down due to a probe of financial irregularities.

A notice on the site's home page gave few details of the probe, but said that it had halted trading on the site "due to circumstances recently discovered" that require further investigation and "may include financial irregularities."

The site says it has closed and settled all open contracts at fair market value as of the close of business Sunday. But it said it is not possible to make any payments to members until the investigation is concluded.

The site, which allowed customers to place bets on matters such as U.S. presidential election outcomes, the weather or other upcoming events, is based in Ireland. The odds are set based on the bets made on both sides of the various predictions.

While the betters are right about some of the events they bet on, including President Obama's re-election last year, they are also wrong on some high-profile predictions, including setting odds at 80% that the U.S. Supreme Court would rule the health care reform act was unconstitutional.

The most active prediction contracts ahead of the shutdown were about the papal succession process now underway and whether the Democrats will win the 2016 presidential election. It predicted Archbishop Angelo Scola of Italy as the favorite papal candidate with a 25% chance of election, and said Democrats have a 56% of winning the White House again in 2016.

In late November, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission filed a complaint against Intrade that forced U.S. customers to close their accounts by the end of last year. The CFTC complaint charged Intrade with violating U.S. laws on options trading and making false statements in official filings.

It cited prediction contracts on certain U.S. economic numbers, when the prices of gold and currencies would reach a certain level, and whether specific acts of war would occur by a certain future date. The CFTC complaint said such prediction contracts needed to be traded on a CFTC-registered exchange. It said the rule was important because it "enables the CFTC to police market activity and protect market integrity."
