Just so I have this straight, this guy has a Financial Advisor(sic), Business Manager, and Bank Manager but can't write a check for $50,000 or borrow the money on his signature? Words can't describe how unlikely I find that statement.

Moving on, a lot of scam pimps/victims have an air of conspiracy theory about them as evidenced by comment from Maphole 2. Which sets up the convenient narrative that anyone who points out the scam must be part of the conspiracy.

He wouldn't have to worry about cross-pitching if the MAPS advertising actually worked.

Yeah....I know....but sometimes it is fun to take their statements at face value. If anything, they are even more ridiculous then!

And as for the conspiricy angle....maybe the bank manager was an Illuminati stooge?

You're good at posters, Ribshaw, how about one of the old X-Files one (how I loved that programme when it was Mulder and Scully!) - you know: "MAPS: I WANT TO BELIEVE"?

The difference being, if he used a loan to purchase a car, he'd have a car.

If he used it to buy MAP credit packs he'd have - NOTHING - except a whole lot of extra numbers on his screen.

Heaven forbid Christopher James Pomphret is suggesting Des GG Hackney applies for a car loan and, instead uses the money to purchase credit packs

Now, I would like you all to bear with me on this one, please.

Remember David Hooker, self proclaimed "World Class International Speaker"? Involved with Banners Broker, although he backed away pretty quickly once their troubles started and said he was only ever "employed as a consultant" (or similar) by them. Well, whatever. He was involved, let's just say that.

I did wonder what he was up to these days. Well, now I know - he's got religion.

    D Hooker May 15.jpg

But who has popped up, as recently as MARCH this year, all chummy with him and saying "Amen"? Calling David Hooker "my friend" and wanting to "catch up soon"? Step forward TONY BOOTH!

    TB DH May 15.jpg

Old hands at RS may not be surprised by this, but I was. These people, they are like one big gang, all moving together, from one thing to the next, then the next, then the next. I quite expect to see David H pop up giving motivational talks to Mappers sooner or later. Or will he, given his new found faith? Perhaps he should "remember the lillies of the field"?

re: Is My Advertising Pays / The Advert Platform A Scam or Ponzi?

Here's another character for us all.....Lloyd Dotson, the self-styled "Millionaire Mentalist" (heavy sigh).

    Maps 442 May 15.jpg

I mean.....he DOES know that the Spartan 300, although mounting an heroic defence at Thermopylae agains the forces of King Xerxes, were overun and all killed? And that Leonidas never, er, said anything about MAPs?

I only raise this because some of the numpties might think the Spartans spent their time clicking on 10 ads a day before going out to fight. Thought it best to get that out of the way, because a lot seem convinced that numbers on a screen translate into REAL money......

(And "Millionaire Mentalist"? WTF? Who's he??)

The guy doesn't even know what mentalist actually means.

A "mentalist" is a type of "magician" performer who pretends to clairvoyant by using cold reading techniques for entertainment. In other words, he cons people for entertainment.

Actually, he also cons people for a living...the only difference is by degrees. (Mentalists and illusionists in general don't promise to make their audiences rich while conning them out of their life savings!)
It seems like in this "industry" common sense is not all that common!

re: Is My Advertising Pays / The Advert Platform A Scam or Ponzi?

Here for your delight and delectation, is a blog entry by Danny Turner, whom, I notice, is referred to on the official MAPs FB page as "one of our respected business professionals".

DT Blog May 15.jpg DT blog 2 May 15.jpg

Now, I found this interesting for several reasons:-

    1) I thought MAPS only got going in 2014 (late 2013 at a push) - they had their 1 year anniversary in January 2015 I think - so how did this character manage to join it in May 2013?

    2) Oh, look - he says he was in Banners Broker too - and Herbalife, and Amway, and Empower...just like he says Simon Stepsys was. What an amazing co-incidence! (Although I have seen no evidence that SS was in Amway or Herbalife.)

    3) TARA - BE WARNED - HE IS GOING TO CHASE YOU DOWN FOR YOUR NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY BLOG!!

    4) In 2 years - actually less, as I think MAPS has not officially been going for 2 years - he has given up his job, is making 6 figures, driving luxury cars and is buying up property in Europe to let out... really?

If you want to read more, here is the link - My Advertising Pays GB | My Advertising Pays is Not a Scam - My Advertising Pays GB . Interesting stuff!

(PS: Having looked at the blog site above a bit more, the author in one entry is Danny Turner, in another Guy Martin; in one place he was a security guard, in another he says he comes from an events management/facilities background; so I now I am totally confused as to who is writing what and who they actually are!. Oh well - a MAPs member anyway)

    Oh no! Not fraud?
    The irony.

    Screen Shot 2015-05-13 at 23.33.03.jpg

The MAPs fraud prevention/detection methods can't be that good or it would have detected MAPs & prevented itself.

If Simon Stepsys or Mark Ghobril are involved it's 100% a SCAM!

It's time MAP members began to take notice of the increasing number of excuses they are being fed which involve accounts being closed or restricted for various reasons.

Anyone who has been around the HYIP ponzi scene for more than five minutes will tell you it's the beginning of the end when that happens

I know it is tedious to keep on saying it, but they always talk about referrals.....never about blo*dy advertising!

Here's Danny T again, on his blog.

DT Blog 3 May 15.jpg DT blog 4 May 15.jpg

Now let's see, has he covered all thr points that people pushing these schemes normally do?

"I've lost money in the past, but MAPs is different" - tick (they all say that)
"Maps is not a ponzi because it has real products - advertising packages" - tick (like brightly coloured banners, I suppose?)
"The CEO is well known and experienced" - tick (even though no-one in the online advertising business has ever heard of him/her and they seem to have no back story)
"Loads of big companies are advertising with us!" - tick (although they never say WHO they are)
"A top MLM lawyer is on board to make sure we are compliant" - tick (although in this case, the one they have named says he is not on board with them)
"You have to sign legal documents when you join, that shows it is legit" - tick (although when people joined BB there were things to sign and look how well that turned out!)

C'mon, chaps - change the record, why don't you? Heard it ALL before, ho-hum.

Wrecking Ball is more like it.

    Wrecking Ball.JPG

I looked up "stacking" apparently it is more than one account with the same IP Address or Payment Processor ID. Who knows why with the top magicians and sous chefs in the world putting this platform together they couldn't have just programmed it to exclude this unspeakable mischief? Maybe they are bringing in Chris Smith and his excel skills to lasso the desperadoz?

Can't say it enough this and every other scam like it involves endless recruiting and banging on about how much shiny stuff the higher ups bought. From now till the end of time when someone is approached with anything that smells similar they know to run.

I believe the term Danny Turner was looking for was "defamation of character" not "deformation of character", which happens on zombie shows or some such. Long story short, Simon will need to prove in court he is not and has not promoted scam(s) and that anything told about him was in fact false. Good luck with that Mapholes, that's why he puts up stupid memes like this and keeps stealing your money.

    Simon Stepsys Scammer.JPG

Defamation Law Made Simple | Nolo.com

A defamatory statement must be false -- otherwise it's not considered damaging. Even terribly mean or disparaging things are not defamatory if the shoe fits. Most opinions don't count as defamation because they can't be proved to be objectively false. For instance, when Tara says, "MAPS is the worst scam I have seen all year," she's not defaming Simon Stepsys, because the statement can't be proven to be false.

I had never heard of the guy until today, this sounds pretty good though, Banners Broker its changing lives.

An interim order was granted to John Bridgeman, Director General of Fair Trading, against Simon Stepsys, trading as Win-Star Direct (formerly PressWise Marketing) of Nantwich. Mr Stepsys agreed in advance to today''s order being made and was not represented in Court.

Mr Stepsys continued to promote and operate a number of homeworking schemes despite giving undertakings to the Director General, in August last year, that he would stop the publication and dissemination of misleading advertisements. Today''s injunction restrains Mr Stepsys from making false or misleading claims regarding working from home schemes and on winning the pools and betting on horse racing.

John Bridgeman said: ''This is not the first time that Mr Stepsys'' unsatisfactory advertising methods have come to the attention of my Office. His record to date shows a wilful disregard for the advertising standards imposed by the law and by the Advertising Standards Authority as well as for Cheshire''s Trading Standards Department.

''Consumers should be very wary of paying in advance for "easy money" home working schemes. Under a genuine scheme you should expect to earn money rather than pay it out. Mr Stepsys''s schemes preyed on the vulnerable. Anyone who suspects such a scheme should report it to their local trading standards officer and help to expose the scam and save others from being caught out.''

re: Is My Advertising Pays / The Advert Platform A Scam or Ponzi?

I look at it this way.

If you are putting yourself in the public domain, if you are seeking publicity, then you must expect people to comment. I don't care who you are; a plumber looking for business, a politician looking for votes or a "celebrity" looking for fame and adoration - you put yourself out there, you are inviting public scrutiny.

This applies even more IMO if you are selling your services in any shape or form, particularly when you are promising people something in return for their money. If you are publicising that you WILL help people make money, that they CANNOT fail with your system, that they can TRUST you, well, they are perfectly entitled to look at you and look at your past and make a judgement. The interent is a very public place. It is suprising what you can find out about people (I mean generally), and the internet seems to have a long memory. And when some things are a matter of public record, then people are perfectly entirled to draw conclusions from that.

Many people pushing MAPs have websites and blogs, they advertise meetings, they put their names and faces out there. They cannot then turn round and grumble because other people say less than flattering things from time to time. They cannot expect people to only say nice things. Life just isn't like that!

There is also such a thing as "fair comment."

If you don't like this, then stop advertising, take down your website and blog, and keep away from meetings and off the web.

Well thought out as usual Della. These folks are holding themselves out as "business people" and as such potential customers have a right to know if their advice is legal and has ever been any good. Either these people know they are promoting scams as indicated by things like deleting tough questions or are incompetent in thinking "payment proofs" mean something is not a scam. Even though a lot of these Mapholes think this scamhunt all about "their" special little program, a lot of garbage just like MAPS is peddled to the public. Following some simple rules goes a long way to keep people out of scams. That Simon hasn't completed anything close to this list speaks volumes!!!

As much as it pains me for just this one post let's call Simon Stepsys incompetent as an internet opportunity finder and guilty of malpractice.

12 of 26 Danger Signs of Investment Fraud with My Advertising Pays

Never trust anyone who promises a high return in a short period of time. Above market return is the number one characteristic of investment fraud. It’s the bait designed to hook you.

Low risk, no risk, or a guarantee is the second most common characteristic of investment fraud.

Your investment account should be held with an independent, third party custodian that is regulated and monitored by regulatory agencies. Avoid giving custody and possession of invested capital to the investment manager.

Avoid commingling or aggregating your assets into a pool with other investors.

Be careful of opportunities to get in on the ground floor of the “next big thing” or “once in a lifetime” deal. Similarly, claims of unverifiable formulas, patents or new technologies that will revolutionize the industry are a warning sign that necessitates deeper due diligence.

Beware of any investment offered from an overseas location.- Sending money to mail drop in Panama perchance?

Be cautious of any investment without a prospectus or offering memorandum

Watch out for any investment that cannot be verified through the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), your state securities regulator, or the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) registration process.

Be extra careful of any investment sold by people unregistered or unlicensed to sell securities, or those working for an unregistered or unlicensed firm

Beware of any investment salesperson that encourages you to put your life savings into a single investment

Be wary if the salesperson encourages you to borrow money

Watch out for investments accompanied by unprofessional contracts. Misspellings, careless wording, and vague or imprecise language in the agreement can point to more serious problems with the investment.
