YES!!!!
Looking at it in the spectrum of Simon's parroting the masterkeysytem's 25 rules. Stepsys has been completely wrong about 30ish business opportunities while profiting by getting others wrapped up in them. You couldn't find a "hater" in the lot that has been wrong about 30 scams, only comes down to the timing.
From a potential investor's standpoint, who other than a scammer or an idiot would look at those track records and think this time is going to be different?

You can drive yourself crazy trying to talk some of these people down from the ledge. After a certain number of scams most folks have to learn, we can default to saying if they have been around the are in on the joke. But other than fun Sunday banter, does it really matter which camp they reside in? Even if I thought Simon Stepsys was really stupid instead of being a criminal, history has proven there is no merit and a steep toll for following his advice.

It makes no difference in terms of the money flow - from new people who think it's real and invest large amounts to people who know better than that and gamble smaller amounts or play exclusively with their referral commissions. It only makes a difference if you want to describe the subculture correctly.

The problem arises, though, when people make the assumption that members of the "usual suspect" HYIP ponzi forums are somehow representative of the majority of victims of "next-big-thing" ponzi / pyramid scams such as My Advertising Pays.
MAP claims to have 200,000+ members. Court documents show the Telexfree fraud had over a million members while Zeek Rewards had upward of 800,000 members.
It is impossible to divide numbers of that size into who "knew" or "didn't know" or who truly "believed" or "didn't believe" or "sorta believed" who was a genuine "victim" or who was a member of a HYIP ponzi forum, or, indeed, how many of them had even heard of or understood the word "ponzi"

That's why the courts divide them into winners and losers - because it's impractical to try to determine intent for every participant each time the seized funds are re-distributed.

No it is not impractical, the intent is always the same no matter the participant and that is to make money. No participant intends to lose money.

So, by Eddie / Festas' definition, fraud is impossible if the victims' intention was to make money.
Good luck with introducing that concept to the world.

Madoff's victims wanted to make money from their investments. Let's lock them up instead of him (or together with him). That's pretty much Festa's logic.

Not at all. It is how they wanted to make money that is the problem.

Together with him. Yep. Just as you should've been locked up with your two Paymentz pals if it had ever got off the ground.

Maybe you should tell this face-to-face to the 162 pages long list of Madoff's clients, some of which were companies with their own lists of individual investors.

This is the stage of the ponzi where one can sometimes tell who was an experienced player and who was not. Experienced players don't get angry, they quietly fade away into the next big thing. Promoters don't have this option, they have to pretend to be angry about being deceived - to take their downlines with them into the next scam.

Gosh. I am impressed with Danny / Doede's work ethic.
90 hours A DAY??
Maps 883 Nov 15.jpg
Meanwhile, he is berating people who hide behind fake profiles....
MAPS 884 nOV 15.jpg
.....but then goes on to say that "they have no idea who I am"!
Pot. Kettle. Black.
Not forgetting the old hokkum about MAPS being in it for the long haul/here to stay/we will prove people wrong / yawn/feeling sleepy/heard it all before/ etc.

the 90/hrs day stuff must be in the same book they get the number of countries from.
Haven't lost any money to online scams.......results are typical.

Maybe Mappers slip into an alternative universe where time is elastic and measured differently?
Come to think of it, given that some of them still think MAPs is "real", perhaps they really DO inhabit another universe.

Even if it was a typo, and he meant 90 hrs/week (out of the 168 hours per week available in total), that's more hours than having two full-time jobs would take. Why would anyone want to get involved in shady crap to work more hours per week than in two full-time jobs? It's supposed to be passive income, that's why people get involved, not to work their arses off.

In fact so much so, I bet cocoa plantation owners would tell their workers to stop harvesting and start clicking. I-phone assembly would grind to a halt and fishing boats in dry dock. Plant your gardens and learn to sew people, MAP has ended the world as we know it.

Yet it's the sweatshop laborer who would be tempted to quit his job for something like MAPs and not a neurosurgeon or law partner.

No, they wouldn't want to lose the power over them. They would be clicking themselves and having their workers to continue to harvest. It is what it is. The game of money and power is not only in ponzies, it's in real world as well.

LOL, I had similar but it got windier than usual so I deleted a few sentences. You're right though, there is no reason if MAP was real that the big money would not be in, and their workers putting in 90 hours + 5 minutes each day.
