A friend of mine was in between jobs around 8 or 9 years ago. He went to this supposed "job" fair, and not surprisingly, it was a bait for only one company. He was "chosen" out of the 100 or so people that showed up, to sell some knock off cologne door to door. They sold him on the "build some clients under you, everyone uses cologne, make millions, etc."

So he shows up at my door, with that "Dude, I know this is lame" look on his face, and then before I could laugh at him, he throws it down and says, "Wow, I feel like a dumbass...I just got rooked." He spent something like $150 for this "100% genuine imitation" cologne. It went straight to the trash, and he learned his lesson. I couldn't believe he fell for it...former helicopter repair tech...even spent time in Afghanistan. One of the most trusted auto mechanics in my hometown.

It makes me wonder exactly how many of the "participants" at the job fair were even real people looking for jobs. I wonder how many were planted in the mix to hype up the potential job seekers. How many of these plants were there to put that "opportunity" bug in the ears of the unsuspecting.

The lengths some people take....
