From memory, because of Paypal beginning as a payment gateway, rather than a traditional bank, there were jurisdictional issues, which Paypal resolved by obtaining licenses in every jurisdiction in which it operated.
I would hardly call that "beginning as an illegal payment processor"

All profits made by Paypal should be disgorged, heavy fines plus stiff prison sentences should be levied. Also that's happens only in my fantasy world. Best case a few fines are levied that don't begin to cover the profits of doing business with suckers and criminals.
My point was I don't believe the story and certainly don't think anyone with a horse in the race should either. There is no $50,000,000 just sitting there, it's up to one of these "internet marketers' to prove me wrong with more than pablum and promises of great things to come.

Your history of defending the role of the processors is well known, and you are entitled to your opinion, but the truth of the matter is that they are all crooks, Paypal including. They are just bigger and better crooks than the shady ones, so they get to get away with things the other ones can't.

According to screenshots, it's almost $60,000,000 now, and screenshots are a little better than an opinion evidence-wise.

Not in my world. If someone wants to invest based on screenshots they may as well start stacking the cat food and reusable catheters now.

We're working through many solutions, including retaining one of the best attorneys to resolve this situation. This attorney has worked with the Department of Justice, has connections who are in the FBI, and a friend of his also is friends with the CEO of PayPal. We're working all possible channels to get this resolved amicably and quickly.
WHAT IS THE ATTORNEY'S NAME?? Lie, lie, lie

This isn't about investing any longer, like an MMG member said, anyone putting fresh money in TM now needs to have their sanity checked. It's about what happens to this money if no one does anything. It will end up in PayPal's pockets with the rest of their ponzi profits.

Charles Ponzi had screenshots too...

How can any member prove there's dime one at Paypal? Your honor PP stole $60,000,000 and here's a shared 1000 times Youtube video clearing it all up.
I want people to do a better job protecting their money in the future and this is a wonderful teachable moment as they say. Which crook gets what they lost a mere sideshow.

Not so. It's not possible to get money back from Charles without resorting to extortion and other such methods frowned upon by the law, but it's possible to raise enough hell legally to get PayPal to cough up at least what it has made in fees and use it for refunds.

I truly am doing all that I can to get this situation resolved,
except the only logical thing and taking them to court, proving this scam actually is somehow legit, and asking for damages which would mean even more money for you..
Haven't lost any money to online scams.......results are typical.

Eddie, is that you in disguise ???
If reporting the fact payments processors are legally required to report illegal ponzi scams while simultaneously being prevented by law to reveal they have done so and are therefore not guilty of the charges of which they are accused every time one of these HYIPs is busted, then yes, I am guilty of "defending the role of processors"
Read the court documents.
Investigations can and do take twelve to eighteen months AFTER the first filing of Suspicious Activity Reports by payment processors and MTBs.
That can be twelve to eighteen months during which the MTBs are asked by investigating agencies to allow things to appear as "normal" as possible.
Have you ever asked yourself how it is the prosecutors had all the account details of alleged fraudsters such as Bowdoin / ASD and Burks / Zeek BEFORE they apply for the preliminary injunction used to stop the fraud in its' tracks ??

Yes, and the answer I ended up with it's not because the banks are honest, but because they are afraid of what would happen if they don't comply. In case of TM, there is no proof anyone is investigating it, so PayPal might end up with the ill-gotten gains like they did in case of other (smaller) revshares.

Is it paypals fault if the admins of those scamshare sites abandon the paypal account once it's frozen? All they have to do is produce the required documents and they get the money back....
And how do you know they didn't get the money back from paypal and just pocket it while telling their members that paypal stole the money??....
I assume it's much the same in USA as here in Australia where if the admin abandoned the funds the money would go into the same gov account where unclaimed lottery winnings go....Of course the rightful owner can get the funds returned to them even after 50 years....

Re: Traffic monsoon. Better than MAPS with trusted admin Charles Scoville
Come on, E, you know how the game works.
All this innuendo and inference about Paypal and banks is what happens every time one of the next-big-thing ponzis goes belly up.
It suits the ponzi "industry" to have people think payment processors / banks / da ebil gubmint is responsible.
That way newbies will join the next big thing that comes along and their hatred for payment processors / banks / da ebil gubmint will have more fuel.
You know as well as anyone that ponzi owners use having a Paypal account as evidence of their scams' "legitimacy" so they're prepared to risk being caught and having the account frozen
You also know, the more successful, as in terms of money in the Paypal account, the greater the chances of the account being frozen and reported
Scoville certainly knows the risks involved.
He's been caught exactly the same way before.
You also know full well the chances of a US based ponzi being reported to the authorities by banks and Money Transmitters such as Paypal have skyrocketed since the implementation of the Financial Fraud task force.
Anyone who starts a US based HYIP ponzi scheme which lasts more than a month or two these days has rocks in their head

None of this excuses PayPal from pocketing fees from obvious scams and not using these fees for refunds. If they didn't want illegal money flowing through them in the millions, it wouldn't be.

Re: Traffic monsoon. Better than MAPS with trusted admin Charles Scoville
And what does what Paypal does or doesn't do have to do with the fact Scovilles' Traffic Monsoon is a collapsing ponzi scheme, it would have collapsed with or without Paypals' involvement and the exact same scenario has happened to Scoville on at least one previous occasion ??
Do you have any idea of when Paypal reported Traffic Monsoons' suspicious activity to FinCEN ???
Do you have any knowledge or experience of what occurs with Paypal accounts if and when they are abandoned ??
In previous (non Paypal related) ponzi collapses, an appointed receiver takes control of MSB accounts. Are you certain this won't happen here ??
As I said, it suits the HYIP ponzi "industry" to muddy the waters at times such as the collapse of the latest high profile ponzi scam, but very little evidence is ever produced of its' conspiracy theories being anywhere near what actually transpires / ed

PayPal has processed payments for Scoville not once, not twice, not three times, but over a of dozen times in over a dozen of scams. PayPay is as much responsible for the size this circus has grown to as Scoville is.

There is no blame. The payment processor has a responsibility to society to take reasonable steps to ensure that it knows its customers and their dealings. Blind as a newborn kitten defense is hardly appropriate for a multi-billion financial institution.
