Meet Kurt Underkofler, a pimp who tricked NBC to promote this scam.
Seems he is also a big time tea–bagger.

Given the above admission why don't you sell Heroine or Cocaine internationally instead? Or sell some and build up a big drug reserve for the future?

Canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II
On 27 April 2014 His Holiness Pope Francis will proclaim Saints his predecessors John XXIII and John Paul II. It will mark a special moment of joy and prayer for the faithful around the world who will gather in St. Peter’s Square, but also the start of a journey to eternal glory celebrated by the Catholic Church. Blessed John XXIII is commonly known as “Good Pope John". The name recalls not only the physical features of his face, remembered affectionately by so many faithful, but also his nature as a caring shepherd who never missed an opportunity to offer consolation with just a few simple words for those in need. His fundamental historical inspiration was to convoke the Second Vatican Council, which he strongly desired and opened on 11 October 1962. The Council marked a turning point in the Church’s history. Pope John XXIII died on 3 June 1963, and it was during the sad days of bidding him farewell that it became clear how widely he was loved and how crucial his Magisterium was. Pope John Paul II guided the Church into the new millennium. He is considered one of the most significant and influential popes in modern history, not only by the Church, but the entire world. Here are just a few of the more prominent aspects which sum up his extraordinary pontificate: apostolic journeys around the world; commitment to ecumenical dialogue; constant defense of moral values, life and the family; his close rapport with people and especially the youth, the promulgation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church; the spirit with which he faced illness, especially during his final days.

Nice, I had tried to email the Vatican a while back to see if they had actually authorized the Pope's image to be used but the emails all bounced back. I can't imagine the church is complicit in commercial marketing of pyramid schemes, ALTHOUGH... If Hardees comes out with a line of collect a pope drinking glasses I fear the world will be near an end.

Here is an "Investigation" by an international attorney that was sent to me that claims to clear up the Karatbars scam. I like how they try to minimize the AMF warning about Karatbars. Dear Mr. Seiz,
In response to your request to confirm accuracy and legal compliance within your company:
At your request, I agreed to a conference with Mr. Fazio on Friday 11th April 2014 where he requested a review of the business model assessment of Karatbars International GmbH.
After the conference I viewed the office premises at Königstrasse 52, Stuttgart, Germany as well as Delivery Logistics Center located Friedrichstrasse 23b. I had random and unlimited insight into the business documents and especially into banking documents, order- and delivery documents. During my visit of the individual departments, the employees were introduced to me. The personnel answered frankly to all my questions.
At the location Delivery Logistics Center at Friedrichstrasse, I could see how the orders are processed. The completion of the products and distribution are taken care of at a separate logistics center. I also could view their gold storage vault.
I could see in detail how the deliveries of gold orders were packed and prepared for the distribution with FedEx. I also had random insight of documents as the marketing plan, contracts with payment companies, FedEx invoices, delivery documents and customs charges.
After completion of the insightful tour, I elaborately verified the documents in my chancellery. In addition I made an intensive internet-investigation, using different search machines, on Karatbars International GmbH and the trading persons. I also tested their internet presence and tested diverse transactions after login.
At the summary of achievements I was orientated by the announcement of our Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the region of Stuttgart, concerning the reliability from layperson advertisement and familiar marketing concept.
Karatbars International GmbH offers 999.9 physical gold bullion in small units to customers.
New customers either find them via internet or they are referred by affiliate marketing
The order transaction takes place over their homepage and is easily traceable. The particular purchase of the customer is transparent and is transacted with various payment modalities.
The orders are taken care of rapidly and the insured shipment of the gold predominately is handled by FedEx directly to the customer. For customers in foreign countries FedEx also takes care of customs clearance.
With their marketing plan Karatbars offers its affiliates the possibility of an attractive income.
Legally viewed the marketing is a kind of layman advertising. This kind of direct distribution is generally and legally permitted. Nevertheless every individual case needs to be viewed in an overview to declare if there is any evidence of dishonesty.
Summarized it is to say, that layman advertising is illegal when they defer from fair trade law as set forth by the World Trade Organization and local laws.
During the legal examination of your marketing plan there was not any evidence of dishonesty to determine.
Therefore the overview results in that you conduct a permissibly layman distribution respectively E Commerce Marketing.
At the internet-investigation I found some comments in the internet blog (Cafe4eck) in which was reported over Herr Seiz. There it is written about a supposed alliance to a company from Herrn Koschine. The statement about Karatbars International GmbH as being the “Rip-off-Imperium”and belonging to Mike Koschine is unsubstantiated and unfounded.
In this case it is noteworthy that there are no other negative comments concerning Karatbars International GmbH to be found. Here you can be sure that dissatisfied customers would have announced in the meantime.
The announcement of AMF Quebec is up to my opinion a common warning according to be careful making business with foreign Investment companies. The Warning from 20th March 2014 can be found on the AMF homepage. Further warnings have not been published to this date.
As a result I come to the conclusion that with Karatbars International GmbH there are no basis information provided or evidence of dishonesty that illegal or unfair business trade.
The marketing system complies with legal requirements and all business transactions are transparent and traceable.
Of course I will be available for further inquiry.

Here's attorney Schulenburg giving his approval of the Flexkom ponzi.
http://thefutureofbusinessintheuk.co...FlexKom_EN.pdf
And let's not forget this:
"In December 2007, ASD hired an Internet marketing firm, USHBB, and made a series of videos promoting ASD, which started to appear on Youtube in March 2008, where Bowdoin and members told everybody that a lawyer (later identified as Robert Garner) had vetted the firm, it's not a Ponzi, but a safe and profitable opportunity. The lawyer then appeared on the video proclaiming the same thing."

It's often said the 1% of competent attorneys suffer at the hands of hacks like this.
There is no indication in his analysis of the audited percent of retail sales to non participants in the pyramid. Is it greater than 51%, dunno but doubt it.
No indication that this scheme has been properly registered as an investment and/or declared exempt.
Markus does not seem the least bit bothered that KB is selling gold at 50% more than market, even loan sharks wince at such brazen vig.
His analysis of Karatbars read so much like a puff piece I am surprised Nöring from Stuttgart is even an attorney. Must take gigs like this between mailing postcards to people involved in traffic accidents.

In the copy of the letter that was posted by Ethan, the spelling of Markus name is different than in the bio posted by littleroundman. In the letter his name is shown as Markus Ch. Nöring, but in his bio it is Mark Ch. Nöhring, which led me to believe the letter is totally bogus and made me doubt that Markus Ch. Nöring was really an attorney.
One would think the attorney would know how to spell his own name, don't you?

AMAZING REVIEW OF KARATBARS INTERNATIONAL BASED ON PERSONAL INVESTIGATION OF NOTEWORTHY INTERNATIONAL ATTORNEY |
Okay I snipped out a bunch of stuff to isolate certain aspects of this issue, please feel free to read the full information posted or the original post.
A number of things jumped out at me which I looked into.
1) Is this an MLM?
- On one Karatbars site it says they are not, because "MLM programs required you to purchase products". They claim they are an investment, "savings", company. But AMF Quebec says they claim they are not and have not registered in my Jusdiction either. According to another post they did not register in Aruba either. Where have they registered?
- On another Karatbars sight the say they are an MLM and then go on to describe a two legged MLM with referral commissions, which explains why they are NOT a member of the DSA (Direct Selling Association). Another reason for claiming to not be an MLM is that they allow "Affiliates" to buy in at a higher level and in fact encourage it by paying higher commissions based on how much you spent to start.
2) The terms used by this "Lawyer" ; layman advertising and layman distribution
- I was not able to find any Legal definition of those terms or even Common Use.
- Many of the other terms used were suspicious which led me to wonder if the author was an actual Lawer.
3) Is Markus Ch. Nöring a registered Lawer?
- Yes. He was elected to the bar in 1997 and is in private practice. The relevant services he provides are Internet Law and Criminal Law.
4) Was he the actual author?
- No way to know for sure but Lawyers do not work for free to promote the interest of businesses.
5) AMF Quebec still has a Prohibition Order in effect! Saving is Investing and the fact they do not register with investment authorities is unnerving.
Perhaps I am out to lunch on my skepticism but there are a few reasons I would not "save" with this :
1) According to their information the coin and card itself is a "vault" protected by a seal. If the seal is ever broken the coin or card is no longer "valid". You can't be certain you are actually buying 999.9 gold if having it tested makes it invalid. Nothing stops them from selling counterfeit since they have avoided regulation at every level.
2) If they go out of business will the cards and coins be worth anything even assuming there is the quantity and quality of gold secured inside.
3) Since Karatbars claims it is not "fiat paper money", will "De-couple money from Banks", includes free storage of Gold and requires "No Bank or Broker", how can you use it and where is the gold stored if not in the device?
4) It does not look sustainable. I am sure that KB Gold has a finite amount of 999.9 gold which is strictly regulated and since their entire business relies on their access and ownership rights where they do business, meeting growing demand could be problematic. Also, the entire plan is based on consumption and when people have turned all their "savings" into cards and coins they will stop consuming but that may be because the gold reserves ran out.
5) Physical 999.9 Gold ownership in many countries is not allowed and can be confiscated. Apparently KB Gold has come up with a Genius way of getting around that but nothing will stop governments short on gold reserves from straightening out the loop hole if they so desire.
In summary, I know it is not for me and although security commissions are often crooked themselves, I would rather invest in something with oversight or that I privately own. I have been involved with legitimate MLM businesses and others that were actually shut down as illegal Pyramids and in my opinion what makes an MLM illegal or bad are exactly the things this system does. This is sold as get rich quick and the only people who get rich will be the predators already involved, in my personal opinion.

Re: Karatbars, invest in Gold, karatbars.com
The Director of New Media at NBC12 explained to me last September 25th that the reason Kurt Underkofler's bogus "news" story ever made it on to their site in the first place was because "it appeared as part of an automated feed from a partner network and they have agreed to take it down". I have seen similar con jobs pulled off at Bloomberg and Forbes by other SCAMS. Information replication/distribution is a thriving business in the digital age and is not always vetted at all stops along the chains.
Anyway, it looks like we made some progress with "Kurt Underkofler".
His YouTube page where he once had his Karatbars promos posted is entirely blank.
His "hmbizblog" twitter page has been removed.
His "hmbizblog" Pinterest page is pretty much wiped clean.
His LinkedIN page no longer contains any references to the Karatbars SCAM.
He is now identifying himself as "VPSales - Intelligent Sustainable Solutions at Sales".
Kinda looks like the career as a real estate agent may have been a brief experiment also.
But happiest of all is that the "buyinggoldreview" website that he set up to suck people in to the "Pope John Paul" KaratBars SCAM is now a parked webpage.
... as is his original KaratBars promotional site.
