The bloke on the Radio who was promised his refund before Christmas by Paul McCarthy sounded as though he was getting on in years.

Re: Banners Broker HYIP ponzi scam
Hi All,
A friend of mine joined bb a few months ago and ever since has been constantly asking me to check it out. I never bothered until she asked me again yesterday and I started to research it online last night. After about 2 minutes, my mind was cast back to a friend who lost IR£4,000 in the mid 90s in the "Women Empowering Women" scheme in Dublin. Straight away it was obvious to me that bb is a pyramid racket. New money financing old money. The maths dictate that it can only implode. I tried to explain this to my pal last night, who has invested €1,500 but she doesn't want to know :(:(:( It was still on my mind today and there I was parking the car to go shopping at 2.pm when on comes Joe Duffy on the radio. The shopping got delayed by an hour, as it was rivetting listening. Paul from BB got flustered a lot and replied to awkward questions by repeating the question. Samuel.r gave a very good synopsis of the show. I was directed here to your excellent site, from Banners Broker - boards.ie and I've only read the last 4 pages here so I'm off now to look at the rest of this thread. Good luck to Philhendy. I'll be listening out for you tomorrow.

Just listening to the podcast now. Priceless. For a supposed national representative of BB, Paul McCarthy sounds utterly incompetant! I'm thinking he might be going the same way as Kul after this debacle....

From the RTE1 website. I fixed some typos my bold
It don't look too rosy for Banners Broker
Wednesday 28th November 2012
Listen Back Banners broker
A number of callers to Liveline were curious about an investment opportunity being offered by a company called Banners Broker. The organiser of the company's Irish operation, Paul McCarthey talked to Joe about a weekend event the company are organising at City West hotel in Dublin. Jack Burke rang to say he had made a lot of money from a small initial investment and had encouraged friends and family members to get involved. He received credits for bring other people on board and this increased his overall income. He said he didn't need to understand how the business worked and was happy with the results he has got so far.A number of people felt that they didn't know enough about the way the business worked and how exactly the online advertising brokerage business could make them money. One caller , Terry was annoyed that he's been waiting since September to get a refund of the money he invested. Paul McCarthy told him he would definitely have his refund within the next two weeks.cCarthey
Paul McCarthey better get down to the Bank first thing tomorrow

Re: Banners Broker HYIP ponzi scam
Oh, that podcast is wonderful lol
I'm only part way through listening to it, but I'm, half expecting McCarthy to offer to tarmac Joe Duffy's driveway any time now...
As for his shill, Stephen Naughton, I love him trying to explain how BB is bringing his business customers from All over the world. "Do you operate Pro Aqua all over the world?" "No, just in Ireland" "Do BB have any Irish websites?" "Err...no"
"He'll lose 1% of his $4000, how much is that, Paul?"
""Err, I don't know"
This is a comedy show, isn't it?
Isn't it?

However it "looked"
Banners Broker was featured on the mainstream media.
Does anyone REALLY believe that's a good thing ??

Watchdog is far too "lightweight" a programme for a matter as serious as BB, Panorama would be the one to send the story to...

Paul McCarthy (Customer service) has obviously never thought about giving a refund before. Oh! 1% would be $40 Paul.
I'm afraid the old guy still won't get his money back despite this going to the top man in Ireland.

So, he's "selling" BB based on the traffic he's receiving at a website which was deleted over a month ago?

Imagine that, even without a brain between us we're able to easily spot that BB is a scam, yet you've "invested" cold hard cash in the scam.
Doesn't really say a lot for your own mental capabilities, old bean....

I think they better get him back on to explain this.
He should also probably come back on to explain that the 75000 he is talking about is magic numbers on a screen. Not cold hard cash.

I'd imagine he'll also have to explain it to the Irish tax authorities too, now that it's a matter of public record...

Hi Roland, just the guy we need to speak to.
Maybe you can show us just some of the millions upon millions of ads that Banners Broker place on millions of websites on the internet that the internet then sends you money for? Go on Roland you can do it.
However do not show Banners Broker in a poor light or you may lose your account.
Just for the record Roland is one of the main promoters of this scam who could be looking at Jail time when this thing collapses.

I wonder will they get as far as the subject of identity theft tomorrow. Imagine signing up to something where they tell you they are going to sell your personal information. The mind boggles...

But Rowland we ARE dangerous. When this collapses, we will be blamed for destroying a legitimate company that only wanted to help the little guy get ahead.
In case you didn't know it, that reason is in the Ponzi Playbook on Page 3 titled "When Our Ponzi Fails Whom To Blame."

Re: Banners Broker HYIP ponzi scam
Roland Millward, oh how I've been following your posts on the Internet oh Internet Maestro, mortgage broker etc.
You seem to know exactly what to say - in my opinion you know exactly what Banners Broker is.
But that's just my opinion.
I may not have a brain but I've certainly helped in researching Banners Broker and collating factual data and evidence against said 'company'. Now, if I did that without a brain just think what I could do with one!

Re: Banners Broker HYIP ponzi scam
I find it incredible that this guy on radio today was head of bb in Ireland. He was like a deer caught in the headlights. He didnt seem to have a plausible answer for anything. Sounded like he didnt have a clue about the way bb works. Didnt even understand simple arithmetic. I think he was hired just as a recruiter in Ireland. Like the low level runner in a gang. The masterminds of this sophisticated ponzi will keep well back in the shadows. And will be hard to find when the house of cards collapses. As in all criminal gangs, the runners will be known, and pursued, but the top tier will dissolve, and go on to their next scheme.
