Gi2c China Internship Scams Can Get You Jailed & Deported

In 2013 I met a girl at Beijing club called "Mix". Her name was Julie and she was from Europe. I thought I was going to get lucky but instead I got an earful when she turned around and I saw the tears and make-up rolling down her face. I figured she just broke up with her BF. It turns out she just got of jail after her sister had to fly to Beijing to pay a fine because she said the cops in Beijing don't accept credit cards. I was afraid to ask because maybe she was caught hooking like so many Russian "ladies" in China. I was shocked with the answer she gave me and at first did not believe her - until she showed me the police paperwork and "Deportation Order" she showed me.

She said she came to China after paying a company called GetIn2China over $3,000 for an "internship" that would get her a great-paying job here with an international company (I'm not sure but I think I recall that it was Samsung) but when she got here she found out it was some small Chinese company that did the marketing for the big company where she thought she would be working - not the big company itself. Anyway, they gave her an invitation letter to get her visa saying she was coming to be an English spokesperson to make TV commercials for some non-profit foundation in China, and she was told to never mention anything about her internship at all. She said this "little white lie" was needed to get into China because as it was explained to her by the Getin2China people... "There is a quota of how many interns can come into China and they were already over the quota". It sounds logical so she believed it.

Some PSB visa cop stopped her in the subway (probably to flirt with her) and asked her for her passport in a random check. Then the female partner cop started grilling her and she somehow tripped up and got caught in a lie. They took her to the cop shop and she panicked and told the truth. They said they would let her go if she told the truth. They lied. She spent the next 19 days in a Chinese jail. Imagine spending $6,000 to come work in China and you end up spending 19 of 27 days in a Chinese jail! Yesterday, I saw another foreigner being hustled away by the visa cops in the lobby of my office building and the security guard said it was "an illegal intern" So when I got home I wanted to see if that guy had anything to do with Getin2China, but there was nothing posted yet. I did find out that Getin2China had changed their name to "Gi2c". People need to be warned about this. Lying on a visa application is a felony crime.

I found some stuff about this gi2c and fake visa applications at http://chinajobinternships.wordpress.com and a lot more at Fraud Warning...Gi2C and Other China Job Internship Scams - Beware People! (1/2) - ESLwatch - ESLwatch - Information, News, Forum and School Reviews Pretty devious **** if you ask me. Julie now has a criminal record because of this Chinese fraud.

By any chance do you have an email address or phone number for this Julie? Maybe you can get her to come and tell her story here? Thanks for your help. BTW... a former Gi2c Chinese employee insists that the company is not a scam here in the last post of this thread Gi2c China Internship Scammers Hired Hackers To Delete Negative Comments On Internet - Scam Detector Forums

Re: Gi2c China Internship Scams Can Get You Jailed & Deported

Any company that tells its clients to commit a felony crime cannot possibly be legitimate - I'm sorry. The more I read about this gi2c company I am amazed at just how gullible, naive, and just plain stupid some people can be. And after I read what the victims said at this link Fraud Warning...Gi2C and Other China Job Internship Scams - Beware People! (1/5) - ESLwatch - ESLwatch - Information, News, Forum and School Reviews I spent and hour reading all the lies on their website. Then I jumped on Skype and called their Beijing office at 86-010-5288-9011 and asked to speak to the people they show on their web site as "Our Team" here at this link, The Gi2C Team - Gi2C Staff - Getin2China and I find out that half of them don't even work there! Every face you see in a red circle below is one of their "Ghost Employees".

These photos go with the above post but they took so damn long to upload that the 30 minute edit time ran out! Maybe Admin can move them with the post above so people are not confused.

No, they are not "multiple IDs" and neither are they one person.

I've asked nicely in another thread where the same allegation has been made.

This account. Sorry Stefano has been sending me the replies to send from here in order to remain undetectable. That also means registering both accounts. He's afraid to reveal his location within China

As for the links that's for anyone who suspects Bruce they can read it and see the truth as Yuri obviously verified himself there to counter the slander.

Smile Re: Gi2c China Internship Scams Can Get You Jailed & Deported

The way I see, it doesn't matter if the messenger is Sister Teresa or Satan himself. Its the message I am interested in. In this case there is no doubt that the China Scammer (Gi2c) has obviously lied about haveing 8 offices when they only have 2. They have also obviously lied about how many and who their current and past employees are/were. And according to the below ad they are running on line right now they are also lying about their "Fortune 500 Companies" and "MNC" connections. Then when I read this thread from beginning to end, there is no doubt in my mind that those are real victims with real invitation letters, or the gi2c company would have denied it, and then answer those 40 questions everyone has been asking them for almost a month now. IMO innocent companies don't evade questions, they answer them right? Fraud Warning...Gi2C and Other China Job Internship Scams - Beware People! (1/5) - ESLwatch - ESLwatch - Information, News, Forum and School Reviews

As for thebeijinger incident. I just read that whole mess and from what I read at scam.com this new guy with two user names also was accused of impersonating three users in that beijinger.com mess, and was banned. Now the troll is here and I suspect maybe by direction of a Gi2c employer? It was not thebeijinger "Admin" that intervened. It was a moderator who gave his opinion and then immediately locked the thread so nobody else could question him about his unilateral conclusion in which he submitted no evidence - just his own opinion. Now was it a coincidence that on the day before he locked the thread $10,000 of banner ads for Gi2C began appearing all over thebeijinger.com? I think not. Read page 2 of this thread: http://scam.com/showthread.php?t=644914

    Hippo_1.jpgHippo_2.jpg

No matter what you may think about Gi2C the important message here is:

REAL CHINA INTERNSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE DIRECTLY FROM THE COMPANIES THEMSELVES THROUGH THEIR HR STAFF.
NOBODY HAS TO PAY $1 FOR A JOB NOR INTERNSHIP IN CHINA.

Re: Gi2c China Internship Scams Can Get You Jailed & Deported

Just wanted to give a heads up that the trolls hired by Gi2c (Stefano, Stefano55, Stefano555, Stefan Gator Gi2c.Steve, Gi2c.Kris, Maromu Hazawan), were outed at scam.com and deleted and three of them were banned at the beijinger BEFORE Gi2c bought advertising (banner ads for jobs and internships) Now the newest troll are allowed to remain (Stefano 55) Money talks friends. http://scam.com/showpost.php?p=1832092&postcount=22

Even our admin here and Eslwtach.info have been accused of being sock puppets for the new scapegoat - a convicted felon. Here is the history of claims made by Gi2c

March 15th - User "Longer" of Gi2c asks if Gi2c is a bold scam? at thebeijinger.com (See screen shot below since thread was deleted by TBJ mod ARVI)

March 16th - Gi2c tells people at thebeijinger that "an envious competitor" is smearing them on line. The thread has since been deleted but below is what I copied from cache

March 17th - Many paid ads from gi2c begin appearing at thebeijinger.com. Said banner ads cost 10,000 per month

April 14th - At Gi2c submits a letter to ESLWatch again makes the same claim: Fraud Warning...Gi2C and Other China Job Internship Scams - Beware People! (2/6) - ESLwatch - ESLwatch - Information, News, Forum and School Reviews

April 20th - Now the blame is transferred from the "envious competitor" to the "disgruntled former felon employee" at thebeijinger.com (more than a month after the original explanation) http://www.thebeijinger.com/forum/20...bruce-demarco-

For 32 days this was Gi2c's explanation as to why they have a bad reputation:

"We have been operating in China for over five years and many of you may remember us as GetIn2China when we used to do visa consulting before the government made it impossible for foreigners to do that business. That is when we started doing China internships which is less complicated for everyone. Yes, we collect a fee for our service but $3,700 is not a lot of money considering that we pick our interns up at the airport, take them for a welcome banquet and then give them a safe and clean room for their first 30 days and a 4 hour orientation. If you went to a foreign country would you know how to do all this on your own, and would you know who to trust? Single women especially appreciate this service.

Maybe our deposit policy was a little confusing but once a customer signs a contract and we make arrangements on our end for an internship placement we are not obligated to return that $300 even if they change their mind or don't like the company we found for them. After all it is only a 90 day stay and they are not going to work for those companies permanently. It is just a brief exposure to the Chinese business world and culture. We spend about 20 hours of our time screening and matching interns with their placement sponsors. Nobody works for free in this world. We do our best to get them something related to their majors but that is not always possible. All those negative comments at scam.com and scam-detector were put there by envious competitors who just want to make us look bad. We have now revised our deposit policy to be 100% refundable - no strings attached and we apologize if our terms and conditions were not as clear as we thought they were.

It is not a crime to pay money to buy an internship - especially in China where just about everything is for sale. And our prices provide the best value if you compare with all the other companies doing the same thing as us. Besides just look at our Facebook page, our blog, and our website and you will find dozens of satisfied customers with big smiles on their faces. If we were a scam you would not see so many smiles would you?

About what visa we use for our interns that is proprietary information. We have only had one or two isolated problems in the past and this is not a regular problem to worry about. After almost six years running our business in Beijing we have good connections that keep small problems from becoming big ones. In the past six years less than a dozen of our interns were deported but keep in mind we cannot control their behaviour if they get drunk and act stupid. We give all of our interns an orientation when they arrive in China but we are not their babysitters. BTW... Tommy was never officially an employee of Gi2C - just a visa consultant and his arrest had nothing to do with our internship program.

So I hope this puts an end to all the bullshit rumors that we are running some illegal scam. This is a legitimate business, we have over 20 employees. How many scams do you know that operate from the Galaxy Soho building"

Re: Gi2c China Internship Scams Can Get You Jailed & Deported

Regarding the OP, a Gi2c victim named Winnie Maliko has been trying to post proof that she was instructed by Gi2c management to lie on her visa application which others have pointed out - is a felony crime. Although she posted one of the emails here at realscam.com she has been blocked at the beijinger.com which is trying to save it's advertising bucks they get from Gi2c. Ms. Winnies Maliko can be reached at LINKED should anyone need to confirm anything with her. They have been talking about this deportation issue here for three months already Job Discussion Forums :: View topic - China Internship Scam + Wrong Visa = Jail & Deportation

If an expat intern gets caught in China with the wrong visa, or they cannot prove they are part of a real university exchange program, or a delegate from an NGO, Charity, or foundation this is what would happen according to China's new 2013 Visa Law Revisions:

    1. Arrest and detainament (jail) for up to 30 days
    2. Penalized with a $2,000 fine
    3. Deportation within 10 days of paying the fine
    4. Reentry ban of 3-5 years, even as a tourist
    5. Felony conviction police record for the rest of your life
    6. Flagged as an "illegal migrant worked: by global law enforcement and you'll never get another visa to go anywhere

This seems like a big risk to take just to go work for free for 90 days as intern in China where you have a 20% chance of getting a real job. What do you think?

Re: Gi2c China Internship Scams Can Get You Jailed & Deported

If anyone even thinks for one minute that Gi2C is legitimate you should know that I used to work there and they cheat their own employees as much as they cheat their customers. Anyone who resigns (like 16 of us did in 2014) can expect to be paid only 50% of their last pay check and get a promise to get the balance the following months, supposedly because "business is slow". When "next month" rolls around you get squat and your calls are not even returned and your emails are ignored.

And as you can see at scam-detector.com they were just caught faking yet another review at gooverseas.com, and if you get the company brochure you will see the lies start on page one! Unlike website content that can be changed within a hour of someone catching you in a lie, the printed brochures last forever! See below and also all these links about the shady shysters who used to work under the alias of Getin2China until that name accumulated too many complaints on line. In 2013 following a raid from the China police (who arrested a veteran employee named Tommy for visa fraud), the company started using the name "Gi2C", yet no business license exists for that name and they do not pay taxes either.

You can read about the arrest of Tommy (who took the blame for the owner, a foreigner named Yuri from Russia. If Yuri got arrested he would be deported and banned. Tommy is Chinese and his arrest and guilty plea only cost him a year in jail, and during that time Yuri sent his monthly salary to his wife. http://www.realscam.com/f8/fake-phan...-offices-4057/

If you google "Winnie Maliko victim Gi2c China internship" you will find her Linked page and you can directly ask her yourself how she was told to lie on her visa application. You can also send an email to Gi2c's former web guy Steve Brown at shaoulin.steve@g****.com and ask him how much stuff on the Gi2C web site is real and how much is fake (the reason he reigned). And you can send an email to form BD manager/consultant Anthony at adm888mda@y***o.com and ask him about the bribes Gi2C paid to newspapers for great articles and how Gi2c buys good reviews on line and pays shills to be "satisfied customers".
