- a parent The tuition increase was about 25% this year and the enrollment was down about 150 students. The administration is basically unreachable and emails/phonecalls do not get returned. The administration also have eliminated Art programs for elementary students K-4 through 4th grade which I feel takes away from the general enrichment of these young students. Also computer keyboarding was stopped for 3rd & 4th grade. Elementary Spanish - which is very helpful - living in this part of Texas, is no longer offered to our students.I hope our children do not suffer not having these basic subjects. Several basic repairs in this school also were brought to the Administration attention like water fountains that do not work and toliets that dont flush properly, all to no avail.

- a student I've been a student at Canyon Creek for 2 years now and my experience has been better than any other school I've been to, but still not excellent. I'm going into my junior year in high school and as a student, I've noticed a few issues. The math program is seriously lacking in Junior High and was in early High School. They have hired a new math teacher who is excellent and this year he'll be teaching all the high school math courses - this will improve things immensely. The courses overall are very blah. They aren't challenging, stimulating, or require much thought. There is simply a lot of mundane textbook homework. I'll be the only student to say this: we need harder homework. Spanish is by far the worst class I could have imagined. We need more AP classes. But it's a good environment despite the academic things.

- a parent I agree, Canyon Creek has no AP classes that compare with any public high school in the Dallas Area. High School is just simple not good as far as preparing the student for college life. Sorry : o (

- a parent Increased tuition has priced this school out of the market, for what is offered.

- a parent This school is shrinking year after year and rasies the tuition year after year, it's all about money. The administration has changed but it has along way to go.

- a student This is my first year at CCCA, and the high school environment does not prepare you for what life is like outside of a christian private school. The students in my class have been going here since they were really young, and for the most part, they are not very interested in getting to know any of the new students this year. The classes and teachers are fine, i just have a problem with how things are socially.

The academic rigor at CCCA is not up to the standards of some of the better surrounding high schools, particularly in the math and science areas. The depth and breadth of the courses available were also significantly less than those offered by the area's public schools and left my child at a disadvantage when attending college. Most of my child's peers from Plano ISD had entered college with many AP credits and extensive coursework that was not an option at CCCA.

Don't let the words Christian Academy influence your believeing that this is where you want to be. "Affordable" but only interested in the money. Tuition increases yearly. They do not enforce the philosophical doctrine associated with the name. The faciltiy is sub standard and lacks technology. Enrollment is considerably low and they WILL shut down soon. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, especially if you are new to the city.

After a large portion of the staff and students left CCCA last spring, the administration hired replacement teachers who are Uncertified. Parents were not fully advised that they would continue to be billed high tuition while the quality of teachers continued to decrease.

- a parent Do not do your children the disservice of sending them to this school. The lack of accredited teachers, the lack of professionalism, and the lack of accountability to students and parents is quite apparent. Our children have continued to decrease in their abilities and have become increasingly frustrated with how middle and upper school teachers treat the students. Very few teachers have educational requirements met and very few are certified by a respectable, state approved agency.

This school is run by the church and church politics seem to overrule and hender the academic vision. Some teachers are very kind but some are rigid and outdated in their teaching tactics and don't allow free flowing movement and communication between students for interactive learning. There is high turn over amongst teachers and students alike. The fine arts programs in middle school and high school lack funding and support. The pre-k through k program is strong but the daycare program and the upper schools have a long way to go. Great teachers and church and school leaders have left or been let go as the school continues to struggle to revive enrollment efforts and find it's purpose and vision.
