MMM - one of top leaders of MMM russian gifting ponzi murdered

Andrey Kim , a public top leader (Sergey Mavrodi's right hand) of MMM ponzi, and founder of MMM political party
was murdered on the street by a victim of MMM ponzi while he was promoting the ponzi on a street of Moscow.

The whole excident (including the argument) was filmed by Kim's girlfreind and uploaded on youtube:

According to police arrived at the scene, Kim suffered two major hits to the head and one stubbing by knife.

later according to medical expertise the death happened because of a heart failure and not of the wounds.

The attacker got in his car and fled the scene, was arrested several minutes later.
According to his statements he lost about 3 million roubles (~93000 USD) in MMM-2011 version of a Mavrodi's ponzi,
and after that his entire life went upside down.

actually different sources report contradicting info.

more likely there was no knife, or stubbing (seem most supported),
there were brass knuckles (reported by Kim's girlfriend, seems like a fantasy)
there was a knife but it was Kim's and he dropped it and it was just on the ground near by (reported by Anton Kucin - attacker)

Medical statement talks only of death from a heart failure.

Anton Kucin was released until summoned by the investigation.
He posted his version of what happened on an online forum.
According to him there was only one non critical hit to kim's face you can see in the video and he never managed to hit Kim again,
he pulled Kim by jacket on the ground and left the scene with his wife, Kim was alive at the time.

I ran across this link that had some interesting tidbits about Sergei Mavrodi that I had not heard before:

I found yet another interesting synopsis of Sergei Mavrodi's scamming career:

Police Track Down MMM Fugitive | News | The Moscow Times

^ That one is dated 2003 and is from a Russian source. Curiously, although it also identifies Oksana Pavlyuchenko as Sergei's front for the Stockgeneration SCAM of 1998-2000, it lists her as "his cousin" instead of his sister-in-law.

It's sure a testament to the amount of "due diligence" that people looking to play get rich quick schemes do. Who could possibly read any of the above sources (or even Mavrodi's Wikipedia page) and expect any result other than being ripped off?

I have no idea how many hundreds of millions of dollars disappeared into Mavrodi's multiple re-starts of the MMM fraud from 2011 until his death, but there are no excuses for those who got ripped off.
