Apple releases update to fix security flaw

IF you own an Apple computer, you need to download this security patch. Now.
After security experts spent the past few days warning Apple was being slow to move on a potential dangerous security flaw, Apple has released a security patch for Mac OS computers.

Without the fix for the “gotofail” security flaw, a hacker could potentially capture your personal information by appearing to be a secure site.

The problem was brought to the public’s attention when Apple released a patch for its mobile devices running on iOS four days ago.

Former Apple security researcher Kristin Paget wrote a blog on the weekend in which she put the case for action in simple terms: “FIX. YOUR. S---. Soon. Please??”

Security technologist Runa Sandvisk created the website “Has GoTo Fail Been Fixed Yet?” to highlight the problem.

The good news is that if you click on Sandvisk’s site now, you will see “YES” in big letters, plus an explanation of the problem.

To update your Mac, go to the Software Update tab in the Mac App store.
