A thread was recently closed with some of Eagle's "favourite" Hilary "quotes" as Hilary never actually said these I couldn't let it lie.

Did Hillary really say? "I believe the primary role of the state is to teach, train and raise children. Parents have a secondary role"
Nope FALSE: Hillary Clinton Said the Role of the State Is to 'Teach, Train, and Raise Children' : snopes.com

Did Hillary really say? "What the hell are we doing here? There’s no money here." Hillary Clinton when driving through upstate NY running for the Senate.

Lies like this caused Brexit and the US to have a reality TV star President-elect.

My sentiments as well.
A corrupt system is firmly entrenched and the abusers get to keep on pillaging the system for their own benefit and the benefit of their friends/business associates because the average citizen is too busy soaking up the lies and denigrating their fellow citizens.
Starting to think this might be the longest 4 years of my life, lol.

Re: Post Truth Politics (Did Hilary really say?)
My apologies for the misquotes. I thought they were from reliable sources and I stand corrected. I still am not convinced that the expletives from Hillary were not true regarding her Secret Service detail. Too many within the Secret Service who were assigned to her detail have all expressed the same comments privately. So I am withholding judgment on those statements being a lie. But if they can be proven wrong with facts, I will readily admit they were false.

Just par for the course in political discussion.
The digital age is a political dream come true. Misinformation can now be created and disseminated at lightning speed.
The whole situation and state of this nation is a completely frustrating topic, lol.

Rumor has it that Al Franken and Jill Stein will be the Dems choice to run in 2020. They will be known as the FrankenStein ticket.

LOL, as long as it isn't Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. I have had all I can handle of the Bobbi & Didi show.
It seems like in this "industry" common sense is not all that common!

Re: Post Truth Politics (Did Hilary really say?)
So now the story is that the Russian's hacked the election causing Hillary to lose. Then how did she win the popular vote? Logically it stands to reason that if they hacked the election, she would have lost the popular vote too, not just the electoral college. More fake news passing as being real news.

IMO, if the Republican candidate had been anyone but a racist sex offender, she'd most likely have lost the popular vote by a good margin as well. He's just such a vile creature that the majority of the people still opted not to vote for him.

she certainly shouldn't have only beat him by 2.8 some mil in the popular vote. she's got bigger problems.

Actually, if the Republicans had done what they promised there wouldn't have been an issue. They got elected to a majority and then sat on their hands. End result is that you get the government you deserve!

Well, this racist sex offender won 2,623 counties; Hillary won 489 counties. As for the popular vote, if you take out New York and California, Trump would have won the popular vote by over 3 million votes. If you only took out the vote in New York City and Los Angeles County, Trump wins the popular vote by almost 500,000. It is for this very reason why there is an Electoral College in our Constitution.

Proven sex offenders, ala Bill Clinton are OK, but unproven are not?

And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.
How many counties Trump won is just as irrelevant as how many popular votes Clinton won.
What's with the "if this", "if that" B.S. Lynn? Sounds like scammer rationalization.
As far as I know, there is no option to remove California, L.A county, New York, or NYC from the voting records.
What the hell. Why not just throw out the vote of any metro area over 1 million people? Trump might have really kicked ass in the popular vote then.
I've never been a fan of the electoral college, but it exists, so that's that. It's only impacted what, 5 out of 56 elections?
Hey, if you think the guy that put his name on "Trump University" has our best interests at heart, nothing I can say there. Maybe he can find a spot in his cabinet for Mike Deese and Charles Scoville. And I think that at least a few OneCoin reps are hoping he makes OC the new currency of the U.S.
Two corrupt choices in a corrupt system and here we are, lol. Giant Douche beats Turd Sandwich.

I didn't know Bill Clinton ran in the 2016 election, but feel free to quote where I said he was OK.
Personally, I think admitting to it on video is proof enough but that's just me. Oh, wait, yeah... locker room talk, lol.

Re: Post Truth Politics (Did Hilary really say?)
I have never been a big fan of the electoral college either, but by the same token, without it states like New Yok, (sp intended) and "Kollyfornia" ( as Schwartzenwhatzit called it) would be able to dictate to the rest of the country. In any case I sure as he!! don't want any of our politicians to try to fix it! They'd screw up the muster on a one-man submarine!

Re: Post Truth Politics (Did Hilary really say?)
Although it's been 2 out the last 5, overall the 5 out of 50+ elections to me illustrates that it doesn't really matter if there's an electoral college or not.
Seems like just another political illusion these days. Using Eagle's irrelevant reference above, the large majority of counties in my state vote Republican, but since the biggest metros are heavily Democrat, the state normally goes Democrat. In the end, the high population areas are still going to determine things more often than not.
I'd like to see if having no E.C. would create more influence by third parties in the popular vote outcome. Unlikely to happen before I'm dead, though. :)
Hollywood, Wall Street, NYC, and D.C. pretty much "dictate" to the rest of the country no matter who is in office.
