The problem is that so many of the big time scammers tried to teach Forex to lay people. To name a few Chris007, The Tonik, Jill Bachman. I signed up to learn at Jill Bachman's forex school but she ran into trouble very quickly and dropped it.

Likewise on the option and stock side P2P. And heck for that matter real estate. For years I have bought books and courses from Ebay and Amazon on everything from running auctions to ruling the real estate world. Most of what you get is a mix of get rich quick with a dash of motivation. I can't say I never learned anything, but it is more like one nugget per book, if lucky, than anyone having the holy grail.

I have not learned much about how to make money online "ribshaw" but I have learned a fair bit about some of the biggest crap merchants online.

On the subject of forex I would list "Chad" from a money making forum which was called "The Safelist" as champion crap spewer on that subject. Jill Bachman closed her forex trading classes before it became too much of a joke but Chad had a great deal to say about forex robots. Unfortunately all I can remember about his "wisdom" was that his advertising board and social community went down the loo at such a pace that I can only remember a fight that I had with one of his members who got desperately out of his depth supporting Chad and his dying community, A guy called "Pastor Troy Barton" who received whitewash after whitewash.

There are still plenty of those those who will try to promote these sort or programs on Matthew Nunn's MyCashForums including dodgy characters like Chris007.

I have to agree, for years before the internet I tried to attend every get rich quick seminar that came through town. Used to love the income opportunity magazines as well. Never really bought anything until EBAY, where I could get a "$5000" seminar package for $10 + S&H. Seems like it has almost all moved on line now, but with the same pitch. A lot of the offline "gurus" ended up bankrupt, fined, or in jail. Seems being on line makes it easier for people to get away with the crime, but at the same time allows for forums like this where at least people who want can do some research.
