So we are still getting some heavy traffic but happy that due to your efforts it is still up and going.
Not much else I can at the moment.
I am awaiting some of the other Admins to come online.
Thanks for being patient! :)

Have you any idea why some users see 700+ users online but my screen shows a maximum of 5 members and two guests at the same which they report their findings? I have looked each time somebody says that there are more and each time my screen shows only a few.

May be wrong, but I think you are looking at the number of people on THIS thread at the bottom of the page. To get the number for the whole site you need to go to

If you only knew how "petty" the REALSCAM.com petty cash really is
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing

Certainly can't be any more petty than it's detractors...;-)

Could it be a little like those bitcoins that are non existent?? Well, in case people actually believe in bitcoins - the pay on RS is the results you get from participating, making the air a little fresher!
Don't get ripped off!! Stay informed!

Hi,
I don't know why RS doesn't have some adds on the site ie; Google Adsense or even a donate button because I am sure it would be viable due to the visitor numbers to the website.
Excluding those from the dos attack.
Kind Regards
John.

Something that could be discussed, will put it to the staff.
There are reasons as to why there aren't ads I'll get the official answer off Heather!

Hi John,
The problem with revenue creation through adverts is that we'd have to register as a business or company which means taxes!

How about some online opportunities, double cycle Forex affiliate founder pre-launch is probably the way to go. The numbers look impressive and no risk of loss.

Hi Jason,
You can register with google adsense or other advertiser as an individual and yes you would have to declare any income, but it must cost money to host this website and the costs will increase as more bandwidth and server hard drive space is needed.
I would be happy for you to put my adsense adds on the website and to share the revenue 50/50?
John.

Re: RS Site outage 20th March 2013
I was thinking a tip jar or something of that order may be helpful to defray some of the costs.

I will put your ideas forward.
A donate button sounds good, but we would have to register as a 501(c)3 (I think it would be a 3!) and that can be costly.
Thanks for your support, guys!

RS Server Migration 24th March 2013
Its just been announced by soapboxmum that the website has been moved to a different server at godaddy.com why?
Is it because of more bandwidth or server space?
I have tried to make a post in announcements but I can only assume that only admins can post as I had the following message when I tried to post.
grumpyoldfart, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
- Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
- If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I also note that this seems to be unknown by payol as his post seems to imply that he had no prior knowledge of the migration to the new server?
Regards
GOF.

Re: RS Server Migration 24th March 2013
Only Mods and Admins can post an announcement.
The owner got an e-mail about the site being migrated to another server. That was a pleasant surprise and I would say quite a worthy response to the ridiculous DDoS attack launched by a scammer last week.
I want to recognize Go Daddy for the exceptional service we have always gotten at such a reasonable price. So much for the months of various scammers threatening RS.

So does this mean (hopefully) we will be less likely to receive future attacks? Thanks GOF for asking and thanks SBM for giving us the information.

Hi Sarah,
Not any less likely, but hopefully more likely to not suffer (as much) from them.
We have the security in place to deal with these attacks now.

It's not uncommon for a host to move sites around on their server farms unrequested (assuming it was?) - its happened to my low-key sites a number of times. The usual reason is ageing hardware / better underlying services / site requirements (in RS case, DDoS mitigation) or some obscure reason where they don't let on why.
