Setting the record straight.

I just completed reading the Len is banned thread. Some of you crack me up.

But there are a few things I would like to say and set straight before it's back to business as usual around here.

First: I owe SoapBoxMom an apology for banning her in April. I misinterpreted her motives and acted rashly. We tend to do incredibly stupid things when there are fires to put out. And I was under the impression at the time that the fire that needed putting out was people being unhappy with the owner's decision to make Len the Admin of scam.com.

Obviously, after a month of waiting to see if things were going to quiet down, of watching good members leave in protest and eventually seeing that this guy, who can be very nice and rational when he's calm, was just not going to be able to maintain some semblance of neutrality, I came to a different conclusion and like the redhead I tend to be, took matters into my own hands and posted that thread calling him out. I also just wanted to see what people really wanted.

Boy, that thread disappeared quick from what I've been told.

I thought maybe SBM would come back and post some of her stuff again, but apparently, George is of a different mind. Maybe all the stuff she posted on quatloos and the forum she admins now was more than he wanted to stomach from a Mod who once said she was a fan and loved this site. So, I wish her well, a lot of good threads and a site that grows like gangbusters. OR, should that be scambusters?

To No_Moron_Here? I do not know why you left, from all your ranting and raving I've figured it was something to do with Len and his being an admin. I don't know why you say you got a permanent ban and find me somehow partly to blame but, for what it's worth, I wish you well and I hope you get over your "pissed off" soon.

Hopeful Cynic, thanks for being the voice of reason when I needed one. I really appreciate everything you've told me and your guidance. And, mostly your patience. I didn't deserve it but you did it anyway. I hope someday I can do as much for you.

Now, to set the record straight. George is a little too generous with his praise. I am not scam.com, all of you are. I'm not here that much these days. I check in regularly, but my life is really busy.

The praise and gratitude for this site goes to all those Mods who volunteered a year ago and to those who continue to actively moderate these forums who keep the spam away and take care of you guys and gals. I do not deserve it, truly, but thank you for thinking so.

As for an admin, we have one. His name is George, or Zachary, after 5 years he would probably answer to both out of sheer habit if nothing else. I do not aspire to the position, would not accept it unless it came with something useful, like blocking IPs of the spammers and nutcases that sometimes float in here.

He has promised that he will spend at least 1/2 hour a day on the site. I'm gonna hold him to that. A man's word is his bond and I take it seriously.

Fast Money, thanks for your help and input. It really worked well didn't it?

Lisa and Katie, your support and pep talks were greatly appreciated.

Looks like closure for many just happened. I am thrilled to be building an exciting new community here with incredibly dedicated and talented people. Stephanie will now be rebuilding her site now that we have together run off the scourge that is Len Clements.

The incredible love for and loyalty I had for Scam and its valued members will be far surpassed by my love for and commitment to this incredible new site and the wonderful man who hired me, RS, my fellow admin Glimdropper and the posters that are the lifes' blood of this place. It took quite a bit to convince that stubborn man Glim that he was in fact the perfect man for an admin job. He soon discovered what my poor hubby has known for years. I have the perfect plan already worked out and I will persist until you see it too. The amount of work these dashing and debonair gentlemen and our lone Mod Seriously! did in that last few weeks to get this place looking so sharp is staggering. There aren't words to show how much appreciation I have for their herculean efforts.

I hope all of us will happily follow our own paths. I have a so many things I want to accomplish with this golden opportunity to really expose so many other scams as I fight to change laws to protect internet bloggers better. So many new doors have opened.

We should take the gifts given to us and make the most of them.

I never held you responsible for my ban. You had nothing to do with it. It was "Zachary" George Dranichak, Porn Mogul, Liar, and Spammer that I assume banned me two weeks after I publicly resigned. I'm sorry, I had not read that post, I was more involved in the end of the thread most likely. Front ends are rarely the problem, back ends are.

Don't you think 3 months is an awfully long time to allow anything to eat at you so much that it spills over into nearly every communication you post? I can't undo what you are pissed at me for. I can apologize, Tom, but unless you need it in my spilled blood, I can't do much more than that.

Bibleman did not quit because of me. I will tell you that. I think you exaggerated a lot of people's positions on Quatloos. Darren and I are friends, he has written me since he left and to quote his email:

Len can continue to do what he does. I have glanced in at the site a couple times without logging in and looks business as usual......as a matter of fact, things seem to be a bit more relaxed since Len came along....so I guess that's good on him!



Anyway, NEVER hard feelings, Stephanie! I appreciate you. I really do. I don't always have to agree with you, but I've not forgotten your past kindness and I know that we've always been on the same team.
I really don't think a lot of Len.....but maybe I've been a bit too hasty there, too. Maybe time will tell on that one. Good, bad, right, or wrong; love him or hate him, he's admin and there isn't a thing to gain by starting a war.

I'm not so far in the drama that lines are drawn and guns are blazing....as it seems others are....but Stephanie, even if I were, I wouldn't be pointing at you. :)

You attacked me with my friends. People I've known for years. I'm sure some left because of me, though I can't fathom why since I didn't have a lot to do with most of them, but others that you claimed left because of me are just outright lies.

And I don't mind if you want to bash me the rest of your life if that makes you feel better, but I would prefer you find legitimate and honest reasons for doing it. You never struck me as a vindictive man, but those quatloos posts, made you sound really vindictive.

Anyway, live long and prosper as the saying goes. I hope this site grows and I hope you find some peace with your feelings.

Stephanie - You asked for a truce. I complied. Then you bashed us again. The deal was off. I used to send this copied and pasted response to the members at scam.com that complained about being criticized. These complaints came from both pro and anti-MLM people.

Thank you for contacting me. This is a discussion board that gets quite heated at times. If you feel you are being attacked, I have found the most successful solution is to not respond to your attacker. In 99.9% of the cases, the person will not continue. It will be forgotten and you can continue to post and enjoy the site. If you need further help or have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to PM me.

It would have worked for you too. And if you don't post anything negative, I won't respond. See how simple that is? I do not classify this last post from you as negative. It's just an acknowledgment.

He wasn't there as we continually tried to clean up the MLM Forum and did ban members as his job kept him away for days or weeks at a time. We gave friendly firm warnings and did ban posters who were primarily flaming, you, unbanned them and publically humiliated and berated us for doing our jobs. Then you had the nerve to complain about the MLM forum being such a mess. You made that mess and I wish you luck with it.

He left the day after you banned me and to his credit he is a gracious very kind man who didn't appreciate the way things had been going and chose not to be a part of that. The trauma and drama was your department and none of us appreciated your taking all your petty jealousies and attacks public.

I have joined here and no longer feel any need to head back there, that is history only , I was banned at scam a few times and was always happy to be banned for speaking my mind( Once I was banned for asking to be deregistered)....but my only regret is that I never realised my ambition to post a reply in the Website Reviews folder tthat hadnt been touched in 4 yrs...

I just popped over to scam dot com and it seems that most of the posts recently there are in the MLM/Pyramid Scams section and are by long time posters arguing on established threads and the rest of the posts and new threads are in Political Chat.

It doesn't seem that new people are finding that site to ask questions about possible scams. Looks like the days of scam dot com actually helping past, present or potential future victims might be over.

Other than the Political forum, the most popular forum at scam.com with the most posts and threads is Internet Scams. It's virtually dead. Only 2 posts on 7-2 and 2 posts on 7-5, total 4 posts. It usually had between 30 and 40 per day. I guess people don't enjoy seeing the owner, George Dranichak spam the joint with his porn.
