Position Description
Applied Private Lesson Teaching at the college level
Possible Masterclasses with ensembles
Coordinates with the Director of Instrumental Music
Reports to: Derrick Logozzo, Department Chair of Music and Dance, Director of Instrumental Music
Potential Start Date: August 28, 2023
Length of Position: Negotiable
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
Salary for adjunct faculty members is based upon level of education and range from $1,800 per 3-hour course for a Master's degree, up to $2,000 per 3-hour course for a doctorate.
Salary for private lessons provided by an adjunct instructor is $35 per hour.

Music Program:
Kilgore College offers a strong collegiate music program with several unique course offerings and performing ensembles including KC Chorale, KC Connection (Choir), Wind Symphony, Marching Band, Chamber Ensembles (Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Strings, Piano), Big Band Jazz Ensemble String Ensemble, and Steel Band in a department with approximately 100 music students regularly enrolled. Preparation for several major concerts and solo and ensemble festivals and auditions occurs year-round. The program web site can be viewed at Kilgore.edu/music.

Requirements of Candidates
Masters Degree
Professional Performing Experience and Focus
Team Teaching capability in the college environment
Teaching Experience in the college/university/secondary environments preferred
Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
Audition/Interview
Complete an audition/interview process
•Demonstrate solo performance skills through recorded or live solo works
•Demonstrate teaching abilities through recoded or live teaching of a student(s)
•Discuss pedagogy, concepts, and recruiting with the staff
