Got some more information!
I got a bit of a break down on the $1,500. Tomorrow I will be filling out the paperwork for an appointment, and I'm going to set it for the middle of next month (hopefully I will reach it by then.)
The day before the appointment I am expected to pay the following:
$950 for the procedure
$195 for sedation
_______________
$1,145
I'll be honest, the sedation isn't completely necessary, it's more of a desperate want than a need, so! If I get above $950 but below $1,145 I'm going in anyway.
After that..
$95 per biopsy
They will remove anything inflamed that they find, it will be $95 for each thing removed.
That may take me over $1,500, but the people at the ColonoscopyAssist said they would help me lower it a little from the $95.
If you want to read more on the program I am going through, here is the link!

I went to the E.R again last night, and I was given something to help things move better, hopefully that takes some pain away, I'm getting the medicine this afternoon and we'll know tomorrow!

0 My name is Rebecca Farrell. My doctor literally told me 'You fit each symptom of colon cancer, or UC. Whatever the case, you need a colonoscopy.' She said this nearly two years ago.
The doctors, insurance companies, general help numbers have found me nothing in the DFW area. 1-800-Doctor's said that there was one in Fort Worth! Which is 51 miles, even though we don't have a car to drive the distance, I was going to find a way to take a bus or train. But that one, too, did not accept my insurance.
My grandmother died of colon cancer, and my mother died far too young of it as well. I'm reaching out for help, if I get a diagnosis, I can get my pain and symptoms treated by a regular doctor. But if they don't know what's wrong, they can't help me with my pain, or anything else for that matter.
.50c is enough in the right direction, anything will help. And if you would like to know any more, my e-mail is rfayewatson@yahoo.com

How it Works
GoFundMe charity fundraising is powered by FirstGiving.
I checked her Facebook page, her husband's page and more family members. Not one mention of her debilitating symptoms, claimed trip to the ER or the desperate need for the colonoscopy and solicitations for that donation site. If it was so desperate why would she not alert family and friends on Facebook? Why are she and hubby blowing money if it has been two years of worry waiting for this procedure? I smell a very big rat. We should watch all the following pages for the results of this procedure she begged for money to get.

What does the $950 flat rate include?
The $950 flat rate includes all costs related to the procedure. There are no hidden charges or fine print. The price includes:
1) Pre-procedure consultation (only for cancer screenings)
2) Physician fees
3) Facility fees including nurse costs
4) Sedation costs
5) Removal of polyps and biopsies
What does the $950 flat rate not include?
The fixed price does not include:
1) Pathology. If polyps are found and removed, the physician may have them sent to a pathology lab to test for cancerous cells (malignancy). The patient will be responsible for pathology charges from the lab. Pathology lab fees are also discounted for our patients and usually cost $100-$150. There is a 30% chance a patient will have pathology.

SBM, I am horrified by this on several fronts (Some of which I will keep to myself as this is not a "policy forum"). A colonoscopy hardly seems like a stand alone procedure for someone under 50, absent other symptoms. And of course POLYPS would be the term, not INFLAMED THINGS REMOVED. I am not a doctor, shocker I know, but it seems like IBS, Ulcerative Colitis, or Crohns are probable explanations. If she is suspected to have Colon cancer, then she is going to need a hell of a lot more than just the procedure. Since she mentions sending the biopsy for testing, I am not seeing clearly they are suspecting Cancer. And certainly something like UC, or Crohns can involve numerous hospitalizations and a lifetime of treatment, but I am not clear on the reference to Polyps if this is the case. Other than they usually snip them when the procedure is done.
It seems to me on an intuitive level that if she does not have $1500 for a procedure then she very likely qualifies for assistance. Either Medicaid, or a hospital's charity care program and if not now she soon will. I know there are some budget cuts and the like that curtail some of this, but there seem to be a few let's call them "open items" in this story.

re: Be Generous, But Check Them Out! Rebecca Faye Watson Fraudster
The scammer or Gofundme pulled the page the minute I pointed out her request for money did not reflect what the service provider was saying were the actual costs for the procedure she claimed she needed. Her identity was confirmed by gofundme:
Authentic Identities
Users are required to display their authentic identities when using GoFundMe. This helps ensure that donors understand who is collecting the money. GoFundMe helps communicate account authenticity while protecting users’ personal contact information by leveraging Facebook. Each GoFundMe user may connect a single Facebook account to their online donation page. In doing so, the user’s name, photo and number of friends is displayed. However, the link to a user’s Facebook profile remains private.
GoFundMe accounts that fail to meet the above requirement, or attempt to use Facebook accounts that don’t appear authentic (no photo or low friend count) will not be approved for inclusion within the GoFundMe Search Directory.
The Sick Turn To Crowdfunding To Pay Medical Bills | Texas Public Radio
Some GoFundMe campaigns in the medical category range from
modest requests for $1,000 to cover gas cards for parents to visit their baby son in the NICU, to ambitious goals to raise $200,000 for a medical trust fund (for one of the survivors of the
Aurora theater shootings).
Damphousse says most users raise funds through people they know and their friends because the site makes it easy for them to broadcast their cause on Facebook and Twitter. And the bigger the social network, the easier it is to reach the goal. But not everyone succeeds. People with small social networks tend to have more trouble meeting their fundraising goals, he says. When Shots reviewed the site, it appeared that the people who are closest to their goals have at least 200 Facebook friends.....
But are these sites ripe for fraud? "We do have knuckleheads signing up," Damphousse admits. He has an internal team that vets every page, looking for hucksters, and shuts them down. One user of GoFundMe managed to fool the company — along with his friends and family — and raised $2,000 around a false claim that he had cancer.
The site also encourages transparency by revealing the email account associated with the payment account. Potential donors can also see who else has donated lately.
I think Rebecca should post the bill for her emergency room visit and provide proof she is scheduled for a colonoscopy thanks to these very generous donations! Let's go!

I think the only thing hot is her little hands trying to grab some money and not the possibly "inflamed things." As my post quoting the provider and questioning her got that solicitation removed with lightening speed, I think we can guess where this is headed.
Funny how my family and friends share on Facebook if they have been to the ER and/or are in need of a serious medical procedure as we have reached out to help and support one another over the years. It is also highly unlikely someone with the sumptoms she reports would be guzzling from a keg of beer and downing spicy and greasy BBQ. What a load!

I noticed it went down, I located it using my new bestest tool Google Images, but when I clicked the link it had vanished. Initially I thought the person in the wheelchair was the one that was ill. Of course it is even sicker to use the images of someone who has some problems to perpetrate a fraud. I did a little research before running out to Taco Bell, and doubt that a doctor would not be able decide if it was UC or Colon Cancer with some degree of certainty with other types of blood work.

- My name is Rebecca, my mother and grandmother died young of colon cancer and I fear I may not be far behind. I am trying to raise money for a colonoscopy, as no one within 100 miles of me will take my insurance. The E.R's will only approve the procedure if I require a blood transfusion. I am in horrible pain every day, but with no diagnosis I get no pain management. All I do is continue to eat as much Zofran as I can without making myself sicker. I bleed, my stool is slimy, dark, thin, bloody. And the pain is tremendous. I've lost 30 pounds since late January, if anyone could help, or please share this everywhere. I would be deeply honored.

- Amen Ribshaw. She is in the suburbs of Dallas. There are dozens of hospitals and hundreds of doctors in this area that could help her. Some of the most prestigious hospitals for cancer care are here. In this post she is hitting up folks that suffer from Ulcerative Colitis themselves. She has yet to inform her own family and friends on Facebook of her dire situation. She is asking for donations from those having serious medical problems themselves. Shameful!
Rebecca Watson should disclose who her insurance company is. I have sparred with insurance companies on several occasions and I am sure if she had insurance she would have been in long ago if she had the symptoms she is describing in order to solicit money.

If only I knew if I had UC. I have been tossed like a rag doll between doctor's for two years. My grandmother, and mother died of colon cancer young. They have the FAP gene which creates thousands of polyps. I have rectal bleeding, slime, thin feces, horribly pain when going, or just have gas.. In all of DFW, according to my insurance, doctors, 1-800-Doctors, and 4 hospitals there is no place to accept my insurance in DFW. And I can only have a colonoscopy in the hospital if I require a blood transfusion.
My friend Crystal Triay Cox recommended me to this group. If anyone could help, I would be not only blessed, but very likely saved.

Again, I want details on the insurance. The insurance companies hate publicity like this. Enough media attention and she would have been in for help.

re: Be Generous, But Check Them Out! Rebecca Faye Watson Fraudster
The more I think through this, the less likely I find the situation to be as she describes. Over the years I have personally known 1 person with UC, 2 with Crohns and 2 with Colon Cancer. All had symptoms bad enough they required an emergency room visit and a hospital stay, actually plural in all cases. If for no other reason than severe dehydration, although this was not usually the only symptom.
Under EMTALA hospitals must evaluate and at a minimum stabilize a patient in the ER before giving them the boot. I don't see how a patient could show up in the ER with symptoms as severe as she claims her doctor says they are, UC or Colon Cancer, and be turned away without more testing. Just don't see it. The person I knew with UC was actually told by her doctor, "don't come see me, go straight to the ER".
From a financial standpoint, hospital emergency rooms can't demand payment in full first and then treat. They treat and then seek payment, if the person has insurance an ER visit is almost always going to be covered if it was a true medical emergency, if no insurance almost all hospitals will set up a payment plan based on a sliding scale set to federal poverty guidelines, and if the patient is truly indigent they will write off the care to charity.
(I know there are exceptions to all of this, but she would have us believe none of the above is remotely possible in her situation).

SBM, in just a short check, this site looks like it could be a scam waiting to happen. One that I checked out was https://www.facebook.com/susan.merlin/friends
Rebecca's memorial fund by Susan Merlin - GoFundMe
On that one it says she has 478 friends, I don't see any on her timeline, could be that we are not friends. There is a picture posted of 3 little girls from May 6th, not sure of what year. Now this could all be legitimate and a mother lost her 2 daughters and that is a very sad thing. Looking at profiles on FB connected with this might give a different story. There is one mention of sorry for your loss. All I have time for today.
Don't get ripped off!! Stay informed!

The complete lack of story is surprising. Why would anyone donate when they are not given any facts? There is no legitimate way to verify this story.

Reminds me of Felicia Harris from Adlandpro. Pretty young black girl suffering from terminal cancer who was a "Devout Christian" and "her pastor" helped her beg for donations to help her get somewhere to live when she was turned out of hospital.

I hope this is all for real, it would be a shame for someone to profit from the death of a sister in this way.
I have questioned another one and wrote to the institution to see if they will verify it or not.

re: Be Generous, But Check Them Out! Rebecca Faye Watson Fraudster
Rebecca Merlin's gofundme should clearly explain what happened and how the money will be spent. If funds are to be set aside for the children, they should explain what the money will be used for and who will be responsible for it.
Most solicitations on those sites are genuine, but anyone donating should be given enough clear information to verify the circumstances as unfortunately we know a small minority of those soliciting on those pages are doing so with fraudulent intent.

If anyone would like a commission, I have a very limited, tiny amount of time to get 4 fire detectors as ordered by the court. I found 4 for 39$ on e-bay, if anyone knows where I can find a set cheaper, I'd be grateful.

You are a lying fraud Watson. Neither you or your husband mention a word of your suspected Colon Cancer on your personal Facebook pages. You defrauded a number of generous kind people on GoFundMe and you need to be held accountable. Watson better hope she can provide the doctor's visit records and emergency room records etc. if these donors find her. I would tear that lying wench limb from limb!

We are both making faces, I am the one standing, my mom is the one in the wheel chair.

Re: Be Generous, But Check Them Out! Rebecca Faye Watson Fraudster
There's been mentions on my facebook of symptoms and E.R trips over the years. Also, there are only 3 or 4 people I don't know who donated, and they were friend-of-friends. All of the donations were from my family, friends from school and friends that I've known online for many years.
Hubby didn't blow any money, they were a gift from his mom. His mom didn't contribute, but she did come with me to the E.R multiple times.
If I didn't quote the site right that was entirely my fault.
To Ribshaw: The colonoscopy was not a stand alone procedure. I saw a general doctor multiple times. The only tests they were able to do were multiple hematocrits which showed blood, a finger going up there to check for external/inernal hemorrhoids, I also had cat scans and an ultrasound. The only thing found was lots of blood. Even with the blood, normally they would not recommend a colonoscopy but my mom died of colon cancer, had a genetic mutation called FAP. I still don't know if I have it, or if my son has it. I'm unable to have that test done, but I did have a colonoscopy and they found no polyps. There was a 'lump' in my stomach which they took a piece of, they said it wasn't cancer. I also had hemorrhoids way up (not near the rectum my doctor could reach) which explained the blood. What it was, I don't know. They send everything was inflamed. No UC, or Crohns, but likely IBS. He didn't say that, but that's the only thing that I can guess. I'm still having issues, I went to the E.R last night and it's the same ol' thing.
I was never aware someone reported me, I got no notices, I canceled it on my own and got the procedure done.
The reason I don't post every time when I go to the E.R is mainly guilt, I've probably gone once a month for the last year and a half and it gets a little embarassing. I start feeling like it's in my head. And once again, it was family and friends who did all the helping. (The keg and BBQ never happened, was just a wishful thought!)
I didn't find it sick to use a picture of me and my mom, but I guess I can see that. She passed away in 2011.
I am in the suburbs of Dallas. There are dozens of hospitals/doctors, I was wait listed by Parkland and the time to get one was a year and a half and I'd already been on it a year. Thus why I wanted to pay for my own. I also tried to go to MD Anderson in Houston as I used to live near Conroe, Texas. I was speaking with a woman who gave colonoscopies and she was trying to help me get down there to have one, but it didn't work out. I've got her e-mails still.
And once again, Ribshaw, you are right. UC, Crohns and Colon Cancer do have symptoms bad enough they required emergency room visit. I had lots of those, never had a hospital stay. And the reason was because I didn't have anemia and my red blood count was always normal. I wasn't bleeding enough, was not considered emergent. The same thing happened to my mom, by the time they found it she was stage 3C.
I always got stabilized in the E.R, which was pain management and tests, that was the end all be all.
((I'm not sure if the Susan Merlin has anything to do with me so skipping that one.))
Soapboxmom - A little family history! When I was 18 I moved in with my husband who was 28. He had three kids, now they are almost 9, 14, and almost 16. (I also have a biological 4 year old) My fourteen year old step son, Damon Watson, when he was a bit younger he stole my mother-in-law's car and got it stuck, stole a cell phone, bikes etc. Very bad ADHD. He wanted to live with his mom. His mom was never home (she had lots of lovers) and he set someone's car on fire. His mom dropped him off here with one set of clothes, and has been back maybe 3-4 times to say 'hi' since then. Anyhoo, he got his grades up, switched schools, stayed home, didn't make a wrong move so he was put on probation level 4, and went to some sort of fire-program with his dad and they demanded fire detectors in the house. Was a once a week thing.
I'm not sure how the photo looks staged, we made faces on purpose if that's what you mean. And yes, my husband likes rock and roll and all that kind of stuff. I try not to judge on those sort of things..
And to the last bit, about the game and losing the weight, I will honestly say I'm not sure why I was losing the weight. I was playing the dance game when I could ( and still try to for that reason ) but I also have a vomitting issue (not an eating disorder) that goes along with my bowel issues.
Anyway! I have two licenses with my maiden name Rebecca Farrell and my married Rebecca Watson. I got married years ago but I only afforded to change my name this year. Thus, two. I have my E.R papers from last night, I have a letter to complete a survey about my hospital trip on 3/11/2013. And if I bug around a bit I can probably get bill statements and my colonoscopy pictures.. I've also got pictures of me and my mom when I was a kid, and quite a few when she was healthy..not sure if anyone needs to see those to rest easy. Anyway, let me know if there's anything else. I encourage messages for one-on-one things. ( I also have a picture of a bowel movement I showed to my doctor.. I'm not going to post it here but I have it incase anyone wants it. Sorry I know that's weird. )
Also, I am still having trouble being sick if anyone has any advice. (i whited out my medical record number and the addresses)

Welcome to the site. I am very sorry for your difficulties.
That being said, your solicitations for funds did not reconcile with the information of the provider you claimed you were going to use. You complained of being worried about weight loss in January and then celebrated your 32 lb. weight loss publicly in June. Anyone who is considering donating to anything on a site like GoFundMe should be carefully checking out where the money is going. There you have a bit of a problem.
And, for the record I would not discuss details about children online so publicly. What's online can be forever.

Medical advice on the internet, what could go wrong there? IBS is a lot like Fibromyalgia in that doctors diagnose it as a catchall, you may never get a cause. It often accompanies other health problems, so best to take care of yourself with what you can control. Eat well, do some physical activity every day for 30-60 minutes, read over tv, and work as much as and as hard as possible.
* Ribshaw is not a doctor, but has watched a few episodes of House when Storage Wars was a rerun.

I don't like to kick people when they are down, but by the same token this site serves a purpose in that it gives people an opportunity to research things and decide if they are a scam or not.
So here is what we KNOW.
You had a hospital stay that ended 3/5/2013

On 4/9/2013 you took to the web asking for donations and the way I read this you lived with these conditions for two years with little or no treatment and the shadow of potential cancer hanging over your head. We now know this is not the case as by your own admission you were treated numerous times. Doctors looked at your situation and determined it was not serious enough to admit you to the hospital for further testing. This was left out of your request for help.

Finally from your recent visit, if you have a Dr ordering a Urinalysis for Rectal Bleeding, I would consider a new doctor. Or as I suspect the doctors have looked at your situation, based on your own admission of frequent trips to the ER and treated you accordingly.

Oh, dear... 'wrong hole' indeed.
I haven't read the whole thing nor do I plan to, as this is certain TL;DR, but this has all the signals for a psychosomatic symptoms of a hypochondriac. And that's the last thing I'll say about it.
