Adam Baker's Banned Book: "My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar" NuSkin's Sandie Tillotson

I started a thread over at the "other forum" with the same title as this one. I have a feeling though, with the history that forum has with acquiescing to the threats of a lawsuit from the scammers if they don't pull the offending thread about them, that this thread will join the long list of other similar threads that have vanished into cyberspace.

Especially considering who the person in question is and her history of bullying people that don't give into her demands.

Anyways, for what it's worth, let's start off with my OP and take it from there!

    ************************************************** *******************

Looks like the poops really hitting the fan at Nu Skin!

First, this latest story from the Salt Lake Tribune:

Nu Skin co-founder embroils company in her marital maelstrom

Books by two ex-husbands prompt lawsuit as share price plummets.

Seems her current husband is writing a tell all story about his time with Sandra Tillotson and the inner workings of Nu Skin:

Trophy Husband - My Time Observing the 1% Feeding on the 99%

Sample chapters available to read there plus a lot of other great information.

Another husband of hers wrote a similar expose on his time with her:

FORMERLY FILTHY RICH - My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar

He published the book in October 2011 and within a week the book had been bullied off the internet. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Lulu, and more, bowed to the threats of Sandie's and Nu Skin's lawyers to remove the book. A modern day book burning!

    Not to worry!

Adam Baker promptly put the book on line to read - at the link above.

    Man, this is terrific!

An excerpt from the 1st chapter - she had just picked him up from the bar where he worked as Dirty Dalton - a male stripper.

He describes seeing her naked the first time:

"All of a sudden, the double French doors opened and there she stood, stark naked. I wasn’t sure if she was expecting a reaction, applause, or just pure shock, but she got at least two of those from me. I immediately zeroed in on her boobs. Definitely fake, not too bad, but could use an update.

I fancied myself as an expert on tits –– it was my full time hobby...

I scanned down to the rest of her body –– there was skin dangling everywhere. Loose folds of skin all over her stomach, hanging below what I thought was a small, tight waistline, at least it looked that way in clothing. Her crotch was shaved, which surprised me. Usually the older women liked to hold on to their bush, but obviously Sandie was a purveyor of Playboy and knew what the younger women were doing. As she bent down to get in the hot tub, I caught a glimpse of her backside. It was shocking. Her ass reminded me of the ass on an elephant, the way their butt cheeks just cave in, with absolutely no muscularity or definition, just skin. I instantly went soft. I thought, there is no way I could ever be with this woman. I could never look at that, day after day. I immediately began eliminating all of my favorite sex positions..."
Yeah, no wonder she wanted the book banned!

But Adam Baker's not backing down either.

    This should be good!!!!

Gotta love it. Time to quote more of this comedic gold and more. The Nuskin numbers are quite naughty to be sure. And, those in the know, know how naughty the top execs and top distributors are now!

The lawsuit Sandra Tillotson has filed against one ex-husband is beyond hilarious and definitely one to watch!

O course, it didn't take long for those two MLM chimps Heiney & Chrispy to respond to my post...

    Ha! Ha!

You two MLM chimps should read a few of those links I provided and learn a thing or two.

Especially the truth of the 1% feeding off the other 99% - meaning you two bozos. You're supporting the lavish lifestyles of the folks at the top of the pyramid and don't even know you're getting hosed.

Or maybe you do and enjoy being screwed over.

This exerpt from My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar:

That week, we looked at 20 or more apartments, including the new AOL Time Warner building, which had begun its initial presales of condos. The top floor 8,000 square foot penthouse was still available, with an asking price of $50,000,000. It was the only apartment Sandie couldn’t stop talking about- the idea of buying the most expensive, exclusive penthouse in Manhattan would give her the instant New York socialite status she craved.

Up to this point, I knew Sandie was wealthy, but I hadn’t realized how wealthy...

We offered $29,900,000 for the top floor apartment, and the offer was promptly accepted.

To celebrate, Sandie booked an appointment with Frederic Fekkai, the famous celebrity stylist. I walked her over to the salon on Fifth Avenue, and watched while Frederic cut, colored, and teased Sandie’s micro-thin hair. I felt sorry for him, there wasn’t much he could do. Sandie whipped out her black credit card to pay the ridiculous $600 bill, and loaded up two shopping bags full of hair products. Of course, I would be the one lugging the bags. It was a long way back to the hotel but luckily we could cut through Central Park. Annoyed, I asked why she needed all the shampoo, since she owned a company that made every beauty product imaginable.

“Are you serious?” she said, laughing. “NuSkin creates all of their products for a huge return and markup, not for quality. I would never use their products!”

I thought of my kids back home, their bathroom stocked full of NuSkin products, and imagined my daughter’s long blonde hair breaking off and swirling down the drain after using the cheap shampoo. I made a mental note to get rid of all the NuSkin products so that my children weren’t at risk from the cheap and potentially dangerous products. I couldn’t help thinking about how greedy Sandie was.
And I suppose you believe MLM products are more expensive because they're better quality.

    Right.

Think - is some entrepreneur starting a company really going to go to the supplier and say: "I want the most expensive product you can make. Money is no object.".

    Well, maybe you believe that.

Hell, not to long ago Ralph Carson, the original developer of Monavie and the company’s chief science officer, cautioned that the juice was "expensive flavored water and that “any claims made are purely hypothetical, unsubstantiated and, quite frankly, bogus,". Carson added "if you were to ask me how much acai is in the product, I do not know."

In fact, a nutritional analysis showed that MonaVie Active juice "tested extremely low in anthocyanins and phenolics" and that "even apple juice (which also tested poorly) has more phenolics" The report also noted that "MonaVie’s vitamin C level was 5 times lower than that of Welch’s Grape Juice," a product priced at a fraction of the cost of MonaVie for the same serving volume.

I could go on and on, but I think the objective reader can clearly see MLM for what it is - a SCAM.

And I suppose you two will always believe MLM products are more expensive because they're so much better quality.

    Right.

The fact that the co-founder of the company is quoted as saying: “Are you serious? NuSkin creates all of their products for a huge return and markup, not for quality. I would never use their products!”

You just don't get it do you - either that or you're living in denial.

MLM is all about selling crap products at vastly inflated prices.

” Sell the Sizzle Not The Steak”
    – was Elmer Wheeler's famous line.

And nowhere is that more true than in MLM.

Take some cheap grease, stick it in a jar, label it as "Creamy Hydrating Masque", make up some cockamamie story about how wonderful it is, design a compensation plan nobody can understand, and PRESTO! you're in business.

You're practically assured there'll be a waiting sales force of willing chimps like you and Doyle to handle all the marketing costs for you. More money in the company coffers. Ka-ching!

    Another excerpt from the book....

Without hesitation, she yanked my boxers down.

“Oh my god. I think I’m in love” she said, as she started vigorously licking and sucking.

She never came up for air. It was, without a doubt, the most professional, by the book porn star blowjob I’d ever had. No interruptions, no coughing, stopping, or insecurity. “Uh, wow ––that was incredible.” I said. It was the best compliment I could muster. I thought she’d probably spent many years perfecting that art.

She pressed her breasts up against my chest and put her arms around my neck, with one swift movement mounted me. I didn’t even know I was in at first, she was so loose it was like being inside a paper sack. I thought, you could literally fit a two-liter bottle in there!
    Uh, yeah!

Good PR for NU Skin for sure!

re: Adam Baker's Banned Book: "My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar" NuSkin's Sandie Tillotson

    Here are more gems:
    Sample Chapter Cognitive Dissonance

....She was number 578 on the list of former Nu Skin distributors that I’d called. All of them had left the business. I looked at the name-filled bag on the floor. If I weren’t so exhausted, there were at least another 150 people I could call. For three weeks I dedicated two hours a day to calling Nu Skin distributors who’d left their cards in a large bowl Sandie had placed in her office during Nu Skin conventions. Many had also handed me their cards directly when I met them on our trips to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, Sweden, Brazil, Guatemala, Peru, Hong Kong, Florida, New York, Chicago, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and other places Sandie and I had traveled to promote Nu Skin and meet distributors.....

I became an active distributor and worked like hell, and then my down-line just collapsed. It simply wasn’t working even though I did everything my up-line told me to do. I even spent $15,000 of my own money to make it work — well, to make it look like it was working. You know, as a leader you have to look like you’re actually making money to convince anyone in your cold market to even sign up.”

“I’ve heard that a lot,” I’d reply. “What have you been doing since then?”
“Anything but Nu Skin or any of those other MLMs. I found websites that spell out the truth, and now I understand the deception. I’ve called all the people in my down-line and apologized.” Interesting concept, I thought — apologizing to all the people you lured into Nu Skin who had no idea what they were getting into.

What he told me verified everything I’ve heard from other individuals associated with Nu Skin. One former Chicago-based distributor who didn’t want me to mention her name said, “I only invested about $2,000, maybe $3,000, but I lost all my friends, and I estranged several family members and wasted about two years of my life. It’s simply impossible to get anywhere in that business unless you were one of the early birds —a Tillotson, Roney, or McDermott — or if you’re related to one of the founders. Trust me, I’ve done what I was told to do. I talked to anyone with a heartbeat and invited them to meetings where my up-line would ramble through the same hyped-up opportunity pitches only to watch the people I signed up quit within a year.”

The conversation I had with former Hawaiian Blue Diamond Executive Marc B. was particularly revealing because I never thought that once you reach that magic level of income immunity, things could turn against you. “Hey, Marc, how are you?” I asked. “What was it that made you get out of Nu Skin?”

He said, “After Frank Kelley, the Attorney General of Michigan, attacked Nu Skin, calling it an illegal pyramid scheme, my group lost momentum and collapsed. I couldn’t keep the growth going, especially when Barbara Walters went on the air with her rants against MLM.”

“What was your best month’s income bonus?”
“The best I ever did was $135,000, which was great while it lasted, but it’s hard to keep fifteen frontline executives going with the enormous attrition rates.”

Marc’s challenge wasn’t unusual. The attrition that occurs when distributors drop out and are not replaced with more warm bodies is the biggest problem in the MLM world. After that call, I took a look at the charges the Michigan Attorney General made and noticed that he was of course right to call Nu Skin an illegal pyramid scheme, but he failed to point out all the flaws in the system. A big one is the requirement that every distributor must purchase $100 worth of Nu Skin products every month in order to remain active within the distribution down-line. Blake Roney and Nu Skin Spokesperson Jason Chaffetz never mentioned that in their sales pitches. In other words, Nu Skin seems to be a product-oriented sales-driven company, but the reason why most of the products get sold is because the whole distributor force is required to buy them month after month, not because there’s a huge market of independent consumers out there looking to purchase Nu Skin products......

To hear so many of the people I’d met through Nu Skin confess their plight, some of them sobbing, others angry and resentful, jolted me emotionally. At first I couldn’t believe it, and I kept looking at the numbers and then realized how disturbing it was that the insiders who know the truth actually still go out there and sell Nu Skin as an opportunity. Then feelings of anger and confusion took hold of me, and I wondered how Sandie could explain her own part in all this, knowing that most of the distributors who join Nu Skin have zero chance to succeed.

I wasn’t done — far from it — so I sought the help of Dr. Jon M. Taylor, the author of several books and articles on the MLM industry who holds a PhD in psychology and an MBA degree. Grant had told me that when distributors fail and leave the company, they don’t hold grudges and blame themselves. I asked Jon why this was so, and the answer he gave me explained what goes on in the minds of people when they make a bad judgment call. “Most people wrongly assume that if they failed, it must be because they didn’t work hard enough, or else they neglected to do what it takes to succeed — it’s their fault, not the fault of the system. The mental process is called ‘cognitive dissonance.’ It happens when you commit yourself to something you totally believe in, but when you receive contrary evidence that challenges your beliefs, you refuse to process it. You ignore the reality in favor of the illusion because reality forces you to act out of your comfort zone and acknowledge that you’ve been wrong......

Jon Taylor and Robert Fitzpatrick have pointed out the mathematical reality that it is simply impossible for every Nu Skin distributor to sign up five people, who in turn sign up five more people, each of whom signs up another five people, and so on. These distributors would exhaust the global population within thirteen levels. Contrary to what the leaders of Nu Skin say, there is no amount of hard work that would make it possible for the billions on the thirteenth level to sign up even one more person. In other words, the pyramidal structure of this business has been proven quantitatively impossible. The truth is that the business is designed not so that the masses will make money, but so that only a select few at the top of a huge group of losers will reap large rewards.....

“I’ve already told my close friends that if anything happens to me, they should go ahead and publish the book without me. If that’s the way I have to go, so be it. I will not let a bunch of abusers get away with it. I will send them and the rare Nu Skin distributor, the 0.06% who made it happen, a signed copy of my book, a bottle of alcohol, and a fuse — since they’ve beaten the odds it’s time to celebrate. What is more fun than to burn a book filled with truths?”

George smiled, shook his head, and said, “I think you’re onto something. You are the Trojan horse about to present the material compiled by people like Robert Fitzpatrick and Jon Taylor into the public eye. I expect to see a lot of people come to your support. Maybe then lawmakers will take a closer look and strip the great American flag off of the Nu Skin building and show the world who they really are! I got your back, D — just don’t give up.”
The truth shall set us all free. Brutal honesty is definitely called for with MLM. Kudos to this courageous man fro sharing his story!

    Kudos indeed.

But just to be clear, that quote is from Diederik van Nederveen's website - Sandie's 2nd husband - the one the bitch is suing for $60 million dollars.

    Among other things, Diederik claims...

The 60 million dollar lawsuit Sandie filed stated I had portrayed her as "unchaste,"
    No! Really???

That website of his is a treasure trove of material.

Think Sandie can force him to take it down?

    Remember...

Sandie's third ex-husband struck back with a scathing tell-all book called Formerly Filthy Rich: My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar. He published the book in October 2011 and within a week the book had been bullied off the internet. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Lulu, and more, bowed to the threats of Sandie's and Nu Skin's lawyers to remove the book. A modern day book burning!

Freedom of Speech is a privilege not every individual on the planet enjoys, but in America it's supposed to be alive and well. Not in this case. When money can bypass legal proceedings, MLMFU steps in and takes over.
    That website of his next?

Would be a shame to lose all that juicy gossip!

    canoworms.jpg

Sandie Tillotson opened a can of worms with her frivolous lawsuit.

    Yes indeed, she sure did!

re: Adam Baker's Banned Book: "My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar" NuSkin's Sandie Tillotson

So just how did NuSkin come about anyhow?

    From Adam Baker:

After a little more digging, Sandie revealed to me that the NuSkin “story” was a little embellished... Sandie admitted that she was already a multi-millionaire when she founded NuSkin. She had made her millions with the Cambridge Diet, another multi-level marketing company that started out of Southern California. With her experience at Cambridge, Sandie developed the business acumen necessary to become a future billionaire. It was simple –– lie, cheat, steal, and screw over anyone for a penny.
All good Mormon values for sure.

NuSkin got its big break when Nedra found a supplier who was willing to make their product, ship it, and not charge them for 90 days. This enabled them to sell the product before they’d even paid for it. According to Sandie, all Nedra had to do was sleep with the guy.

    Genius!

Over the next 20 years, this wouldn’t be the first (or last) time that one of the female founders had to sleep with someone to achieve a business goal. They jokingly referred to it as “net 90 pussy.”
I wonder if they learned that ploy in a business class at BYU?

This chapter describes how the ''Birth Mother" of Nu Skin, Nedra Roney, seduced her own son-in-law, leading to the suicide of Nedra's adopted daughter, Tarah. (Kimberly, the actual birth mother of Tarah, has given me her full support for this story!).
    nedra.jpg

Nedra has been married at least 13 times, sometimes twice to the same man. Three of her husbands died while being married to her.
That's sort of like Mormonism in reverse!

Perhaps the ladies are working on a new way to attract more men into NuSkin.

One thing's for sure, their recruitment meetings would be a lot more lively than some boring MLM recruiter drawing dollar signs and pyramids on a whiteboard.

Wait!!! Is this the poison mushroom story? ( You know, two died from eating poison mushrooms, the third from a skull fracture because he wouldn't eat the poison mushrooms?)

Seems Sandie's son in-law, Jed, had some pretty lively recruitment meetings himself.

Jed invited me to a few of his recruiting “meetings.” These were lavish, over the top parties at his home, where he would give a short, hyped up presentation promising to make everyone a millionaire, for the small, one-time start-up fee of only $1200. Since he was so successful, he had nothing better to do with his time than to help others become multi-millionaires too –– at least, that’s what he promised. People were sucked in by the promise of an easy income, and the lure of a big new home and fancy cars.

As soon as Jed closed the deal, sometimes signing up 30 to 50 new distributors in one party, he would eagerly begin helping the new recruits, usually young couples, recruit others. He would pay particular attention to those who had nice-looking wives –– after all, the wife would probably be the one doing the recruiting, so Jed took it upon himself to make house-calls during the day, while their husbands were at work. Jed, and a couple of his buddies in the company, one close friend of mine named Ryan Fry (everyone knew him as Ry-Fry), and Jed’s upline partner, Charley Patterson, made it a recreational sport to seduce the young wives and get them into bed, all under the guise of helping them make money

It soon became a company scandal when several husbands figured out the gig after their guilty weepy-eyed wives confessed to their extracurricular activities with the Nu Skin recruiters. Several of these enraged husbands filed complaints with the company, demanding that Jed lose his position. Nu Skin decided to make an example of someone, and sure enough, they would publicly fire a top executive for the shenanigans. They fired Ryan.

re: Adam Baker's Banned Book: "My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar" NuSkin's Sandie Tillotson

    Sample Chapter Meeting Nathan Ricks
    JANUARY-1995 Meeting Nathan Ricks
“Ladies and gentlemen, here is Nathan Ricks, the man who has redefined Network Marketing, he is a legend and leader that has been with Nu Skin since the early years. He's going to explain how you too can make it in this business.”
David had called me about this meeting at least a month ago.....

David, however, was visibly comfortable in his role, he even seemed proud to have brought me to the lion’s den. He had been involved in this MLM (multi-level-marketing) deal for years, knew who everyone was, and possessed the perfect personality: approachable, likeable, unafraid of rejection, and determined......

as everyone suggested, I’d need to invest heavily more time and money. Both of which I had little, but if I didn’t “commit” and “go for it” it would never lead to anything. Most of my friends advised adamantly against MLM, urging me to learn more before taking a leap of faith.
Despite how good those brochures looked, I felt as if I was joining a religion and said so to David, who laughed and said, “Well, you got to believe in something, might as well be a religion that makes you money.”....

it took him about twelve minutes to explain why Nu Skin was so much better than all other opportunities... not one word about the products yet...

When I realized that all the money generated from my first level sign-ups, before becoming an executive distributor, would go to my “up-line” or sponsor, in my case fellow actor David Christian for his effort of “coaching” me, it didn’t make that much sense to me. It merely told me that Nu Skin didn’t believe in me until I had burned up my warm market and I would only be paid a commission from anyone they signed. Nathan made it crystal clear; he’d not take any of us serious unless we got in at “a thousand points.”

“Why would I take you serious if you don’t take Nu Skin serious?” He blurted in the microphone. With one point to equal one dollar, it was for most us a lot of money to invest in something that had not made much sense to me and several others who shared their concerns with me later. Nathan, aware of the deflating murmur traveling through the room said, “Remember, look at what you are getting; a company, products, a ‘hands-free,’ seamless compensation plan and awesome leadership... for only a small investment.”
Obviously Nathan's talent was (and still is) to create “sense,” out of the whirlwind of data and stories that spoke of a different world, a promised land where all dreams come true;....

David wasn’t the first one to pursue me; a woman before him had tried. She prospected me when I was cashing a check for $2,000 for my work on a film at the bank. She stood behind me and leaned over, looked at the check, and said, unblushingly, “Two grand? Uh, well, I know a deal that can generate that kind of money every week.”....

I saw her sitting at the bar in a mini-skirt and push-up bra. I knew I had to be on my guard. Women do not meet men in mini-skirts for a business meeting unless they expect whatever it is they’re after will require their “assets” to be thrown in to get it. They know what the basal, fatal attraction can do to our mostly primitive, one-track male minds. She turned around, smiled, grabbed my hand, pulled me in, and laid it on thick using the subtle separation of her legs to get me off-guard when she kissed me on my cheeks accompanied by, “Don’t you Europeans do it this way?”.....

I looked at her and wondered how many other guys had fallen for her sexy charm and joined Nu Skin just to see her run around in her minis—crazy.

Besides being unprofessional, I didn’t feel that I was anything more than a warm body in her mind.
Since the products are over-hyped and over-priced the top distributors have to sell a little meat it appears. This dishonest business model --- MLM needs to be shut down!!!

Been busy reading those links too I see!

Man, this has to be flat out the best MLM exposé stuff I think I've ever read!

There's an old saying, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned".

But in this case I think we can safely say, "Hell hath no fury like a pair of pissed off gigolos.".

And Sandie is finding that out first hand.

From what I've read about her, it couldn't happen to a nicer person.

    Keep it coming, Diederik!

Now that I have taken my shower after reading these links, I am still shaking my head at the absolute debauchery of the founders and their family members. I knew the business model sucked, just not literally.

Why does anyone need 20 automobiles and 4 airplanes, let alone justify them?

Now it remains to be seen how much longer Nu Skin can last as a viable company with all this dirt being made public. And there is more to come I'm sure. I will be taking a lot of extra showers over the next few weeks reading this sordid tale as it unfolds. I only wish I had waited a few hours after having lunch before reading this. My stomach is still turning.

The juicy excerpts must be saved for posterity. No doubt Sandie will spend much of her fortune fighting to get that stuff removed. I just finished Adam Baker's missive and we certainly can't pull out too many fair use quotes from that x-rated expose.

MLM is quite dirty in more ways than one to be sure! I hope the Advantage Conferences rep that claimed she turned down Jack Weinzierl will write her own book! Now, we know why so many soap operas went off the air. How could those shows compete with the MLM behind the scenes shenanigans!

Let's not fail to include a $50,000,000, 8,000 square foot penthouse apartment atop the new AOL Time Warner building in that list.

It was the only apartment Sandie couldn’t stop talking about- the idea of buying the most expensive, exclusive penthouse in Manhattan would give her the instant New York socialite status she craved. This would be a purchase certain to make the papers, and solidify Sandie’s ranking as one of the richest, most powerful women around.
Of course, she managed to steal it for only $29,900,000.

Just wonder how many hungry kids that kind of money would feed in Nu Skin's “Nourish the Children” charity?

You know, the charity that Sandie hated because she had to touch and give out candy to, in her words,
“the filthy and AIDS-ridden African children.”

My stomach turns every time I read new details about this woman.

Interesting thing is, Sandie's second boy toy husband, Diederik van Nederveen, pretty much corroborates Adam Baker's story, even though he hates the guy's guts.

He has a chapter in his forth coming book entitled "Formerly Filthy Rich" that talks about Adam's book.

Helps explain why Sandie went on a book burning binge instead of hauling Adam into court and suing his ass off. Kind of difficult to sue someone for libel if what they're saying is true, isn't it?

I'm sure she couldn't take a chance of him getting on the witness stand and opening his mouth.

The very act of bullying others to ignore the first amendment, playing judge and prosecutor, without allowing Adam to present his “evidence” in a court of law is indicative of exactly the kind of flawed, MLM-character that Wall-Street-company investigators have asked me to comment on. In their eyes, despite the libelous tone, his book must therefore be true; taking him to court would otherwise have easily proven him wrong. But to them, the media attention these long-winded legal proceedings demand are of little value.

What is it that Nu Skin and Sandie are hiding?
If you haven't read that chapter, by the way, it's certainly worth a read.

There's enough material in there to start a half dozen separate threads.

Somebody should make certain they have a backup copy of that e-book before it disappears into cyberspace.

    Hint, hint!

Sandie and her high priced legal team managed to get Adam Baker's web site shut down.

Nu Skin lawyers forced all web sites that posted the book to remove it.

Within a week after he published his book in October 2011, the book had been bullied off the internet. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Lulu, and more, bowed to the threats of Sandie's and Nu Skin's lawyers to remove the book.

In itself another great example of the corruptible power of money when one of the web sites, The Rip Off Report, who holds firm to their irrevocable policy of “non-removal of all postings”, decided to give in to Nu Skin’s book burning obsession!

MLMFU (Multi-Level Marketing Fraud Uncovered) claims they won't kowtow to 4Skins demands.

I'm not too sure about that.

A reader on Diederik van Nederveen's site asks:

What has happened to Adam Baker? Where is he and how is his life going? His book was posted on MLMFU(dot)com on the Nu Skin page. It will be interesting to see how long it's able to stay on there before it's bullied off again.
    That's what I'm wondering too.

Now I know SBM loves a good scrap. I'm thinking she should be prepared to slap up a copy of the book once MLMFU is forced to take down their copy.

It would be great to watch her go toe to toe with 4Skins high priced legal team as they try to get her to remove the book from her site!

    Man that would be awesome!

Nu Skin was founded in 1984 in Provo, Utah, by Nedra Roney, Blake Tillotson and Sandie Tillotson.

Success brought money, lots and lots of money, and Nedra became addicted to drugs. It didn't take long before Nedra was asked bluntly to "stop coming to work" because of her behavior, and Steve Lund was brought in to take her place.

Source: ... Multi-Level Marketing Fraud Uncovered - Nu Skin

The founders of Nu Skin belong to the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints -- LDS).

~Blake Roney is soon to relocate to France where he will serve as LDS Mission President for three years. "Brother Roney," a former bishop in the LDS church, performed the marriage ceremony for Sandie Tillotson and I in 1995.

~Steve Lund currently holds a "General Authority" position in the Mormon Church in the 5th Quorum of the Seventy.

It is important to note that both of these positions Lund and Roney hold are considered to be honorable and are only staffed by temple recommend-holding, active Mormons. One of the questions these two men would have been asked in order to determine their "worthiness" was, "Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow men?"

~Nedra Roney, sister of Blake, was raised Mormon.

~Sandie Tillotson was raised Mormon but told me the religion was not for her.

~Derek, Sandie's son, served a two year Mormon mission.

~Craig Tillotson, Sandie's first husband, was raised Mormon and served a mission as well.

    ~Clara McDermott, Craig Tillotson's mother, a Mormon.

~Nathan Ricks, married to Craig Tillotson's sister, Joyce, a Mormon.

~Craig Bryson, married to Sandie Tillotson's sister, Kathy. a Mormon.

    Romney Campaign Backers

The board of directors for Nu Skin consists of eleven individuals, of which approximately seven are Mormon or of Mormon upbringing.

Why does it matter what religion anyone belongs to?

When I signed up as a Nu Skin distributor I was very much concerned if Nu Skin was Mormon-run or affiliated with the Mormon Church at all. I was assured that Nu Skin was a Utah based business and nothing more. Several individuals have stated that they had the same concerns when they signed up as well. In fact, the new distributors in the Asia/Pacific area are greatly concerned about this, and yet, are not hearing the truth from their sponsors. Why not?

The Nu Skin-Mormon Church connection is whitewashed out of conversations. New potential recruits are being told blatant lies concerning this topic because it would make a difference in recruit numbers and Nu Skin knows it. And yet, Nu Skin plays up the Mormon card in Utah, portraying themselves as honest, fair, hardworking, charitable, honorable individuals because they know the majority of Utah belongs to the Mormon church. Mormons are more likely to join a company run by other Mormons verses a company run by drinking and smoking sinners.

Unless the distributors from the other parts of the world travel to Provo, UT, and see the Mormon Church's presence so nearby, literally, they'll never know.

re: Adam Baker's Banned Book: "My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar" NuSkin's Sandie Tillotson

Doc Bunkum, you are my hero! Along with everyone else here on this forum who supports the downfall of MLMs in general. I started MLMFU back in June after months of deliberation and research. I hate MLM with a passion and want to see it eradicated. I also want to see the lawyers who defend MLMs and their crooked leaders held responsible for manipulating the legal system for their gain. Other sites like this one have dumped Doc Bunkum's thread on Adam Baker. It seems everyone is scared to death of "Defamation Lawsuits" and they quickly hang their heads and run away from a fight. I can't blame them, it costs money to be sued. I guess that's why I'm drawn to Diederik van Nederveen's story. He's being sued for $60 frickin million dollars and he's not backing down. I've communicated with him a few times, nice chap, and he laughs openly about the lawsuit. He says he's not worried about it because he has the truth, facts, and first hand knowledge on his side. Now he has scientists and forensic specialists who are coming forward to discredit the claims of Nu Skin. Diederik says he guesses that Adam Baker's book was bullied off because he mentioned the Bio-Photonic Scanner as being a scam. It was Nu Skin's lawyers who did the bullying, not Sandie's, even though the book was more about Sandie. Diederik just posted a new page and update about the Bio-Photonic Scanner that should have Nu Skin squirming like a worm on a hot rock.

I agree that Diederik's website gives plenty of info for many threads on this site. I see his campaign as having an effect on the world of MLM altogether. My site is new and I'm adding info as often as I can. I have Adam Baker's book on it and I don't plan on removing anything! I have not been contacted by lawyers yet, although some of the more recent stuff that's surfaced might get me a response from Melaleuca's monkeys in suits. I'm not worried about being bullied. I did my homework when selecting the host for my website, just like Diederik. Too many people, like Adam Baker, just build websites not realizing that the hosts have to answer for the content. Adam's biggest flaw was going with GoDaddy with his site. They don't like fights or battles and folded quickly. He had a couple sites that started and then were shut down. I learned from his experiences and did a lot of investigating into hosting companies who don't bow down to threats. There's a lot of them out there and if for some reason my host is shut down, I'll hop on over to one of the many others and re-post.

For now, I would welcome any stories or communications anyone wants to share.

Welcome MLMFU! MLM does need to be eradicated. I was sued by MLM scammer Tim Darnell and kicked his lying rear in Summary Judgment. I am now tangled in a lawsuit with Don Allen Holbrook LLC, an economic developer, that is behind the failed Earthquest theme park in Texas. Nothing like a little publicity for those engaged in shenanigans! The truth shall set us free!!!

Thanks, Soapboxmom, I see that this site is GoDaddy hosted. Has that ever been a problem, as in, does 'big brother' ever step in and lay down the law?

Also, great job on kicking Darnells butt in summary judgment! I'm not familiar with the failed Earthquest theme park, but I'll do some reading and investigating. You're right, the truth shall set us free!

*Update* I just read through your court documents. "Jesus Christ-endorsed pyramid scheme" good grief! All the better that you won against him.
