He said it was okay to share this story so long as I did not mention the name of the school. He said that his bilingual teacher aide who is only 23 years old who is only paid 2,000 yuan per month (about $150) suddenly had to quit her job last month, and claimed her mom was in the hospital in Changsha (about 700 miles away). Two days after she quit, five PSB agents (Chinese visa police) casually walked into the school and said it was a "random visa check" but they asked for five teachers by name. All five were talked to separately but when they came out of the room were taken downstairs and put in a van and then officially arrested, cuffed and taken away. He said they never came back and the school made them listen to a lecture about "Respecting Chinese Law" that she had to read to them from a paper the PSB gave her. Then they all had to sign the paper. Yesterday, he said he bumped into his recently retired TA buying some clothes in a local mall and both were shocked to see each other. He asked about her mother's health and the girl just ran away. Today, I saw the below on a different website. Can this all possibly be a coincidence? I think not.

"It looks like the Chinese government is dead serious about finally enforcing its visa laws. Usually visa crackdowns in China by the PSB last a month and only involve random visits to schools to inspect visas, but the last one that started in October of 2014 is still going on nation-wide. According to BTV news over 1, 650 illegal alien teachers were arrested in deported in 2014. See: China Arrests Fake Foreign Teachers & ESL Job Recruiters - China Business Central - Open Salon

But now they are using different ways to find the estimated 15,000 fake English teachers and although they have increased the random school visits they are now using fake job ad stings to lure teachers to fake interviews and then asked to see their passports. If there are no Z visa's inside their passports - off to jail they go. In less than a month they will be deported. If you do have a Z visa they ask to see your diploma to make sure it is genuine and not one of the many fakes sold by recruiters. A fake one will also get you arrested and deported See: http://www.realscam.com/f8/scam-aler...cruiters-3546/

But the latest way they are catching the phony expat teachers is by paying 5,000 rmb rewards to teacher aides, teachers, and anyone else who turns in a fake teacher. The PSB says the program has been around for years and the only difference now is that they increased the reward monies by 80%. Some posters about the reward program are popping up in Chinese communities and subway stations showing a foreign teacher in handcuffs with a question at the top in Chinese? "Do You Want Fake Teachers Teaching YOUR Child?" with a toll free "hotline" listed at the bottom. My GF's brother received a similar flyer at his job with a Chinese bank. My guess is that we are bout to lose about 30% of all the foreign teachers now working in China and I don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing? I guess it depends on whether you have a Z visa and real diploma or not! See: http://eslwatch.info/forum/china/76-...o-the-psb.html"

About a two weeks ago, I heard that in Chengdu, five Disney English teachers were also arrested for having phony diplomas and/or no Z visas as well. I wonder if all these teachers are now going to have criminal records? https://chinascamalert.wordpress.com...ificate-sting/

Wow, just try talking about this at ESLCafe.com, thebeijinger.com or Echinacities.com and watch how quickly you get deleted and banned! This is one of those taboo topics that are "bad for business" - just like the arrests of the Disney and EF foreign teachers in 2014 and and the 2,000+ expats deported last year for using fake diplomas and not having Z visas. They really know how to censor news in China! Here's the latest on the reward program that will probably make a lot of Chinese school employees very rich in less than a year! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...6202244AAD4563
