It's called a Digital Millenium Copyright Act violation and, unfortunately can be (mis)used to protect those who would defraud the public from exposure.

Yeah, I was aware of the DMCA.

Ironic how often the scammers are protected more than those attempting to expose them.

We can count ourselves lucky we're not in the EU.

With the way they protect the privacy of wrongdoers as well as the DMCA, we'd be banished forever

What a great surprise to find the site back up and functioning again. It was frustrating to see Account Suspended for so long. Welcome back. You were missed.

Hi, all. Glad you're back.

Is anyone able to go into more detail as to what took the board offline - in a PM, if you prefer? I have dealt professionally with DMCA takedown notices (and orders), but I have yet to see one that took down a board rather than a post or three. I'd be very interested in the details. If it is what I think it may be - well, then you guys need a different host.

Thanks.

Well, that's a better explanation than a ponzi admin excuse, but I'm sure a pimp or admin will try it down the road.

I'm also curious as to who the scammer who filed was, and which thread(s) they were trying to object to. I see two of mine about a family with an extensive history of fraud seem to have vanished.

Edit: Make that 3 of mine, as the TNCL Marketing thread appears to be gone as well.

Or perhaps just hidden for now? Google cache from 3/14 is still available.
