I tend to post items that cannot be typed in a minute or two. Do I have to prepare all my posts in Word before I try to post them here or is there some magic formula to stay logged in while typing?

Hi Arthur. I am afraid that you only get ten minutes. However it is worth finding out, if anybody here could help you get extra time, in view of your very poor eyesight and your need to dictate your material to somebody who is not very fluent in English.

I lost nearly all my typing ability after a stroke in 2007. Most memories came back in a week or two but I had to re learn some things from the very beginning. I could not remember how to use my C-panel and it nealy drove me crazy.

I wish the time for editing posts could be extended as well, simply because I am a horrible typist and tend to write in a stream of conscious thing and then post it and then go back to try and fix all the typos and I never make them all. lol Probably writing on Word would be easiest. I have learned to do that for long pms as the length of pms is also shortish on here and I wind up sending them in two and three parts if they are long.

As for staying logged on, I haven't had that issue. When you log in. make sure to also check the box that says something like "remember me" and you will stay logged on.

Forgive me for not having a better answer. I am in the admin panel digging. A User can only edit a submitted post for 10 minutes. I will get with RS and Glim and tell him we are voting for a little longer time.

As to the forum software logging us out, I only occassionally have trouble, but as my wireless internet connection at home has been acting up that has cuased me to lose a post and be logged out in short order several times the last few days. I will dig more for any information on the setting options that may effect that.

I already found the edit time settings, so with another vote from an admin, I can easily address that. I will research more on the time one stays logged in and what factors might effect that.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the replies. It is very frustrating to read a blog post and try to comment. It seems that reading the post will use up all your time, you will be allowed to write your comment but, when you try to post it you are told you don't have the right because you are not logged in.

I found that stopped happening once I'd made a few posts....

Okay, one problem is solved. I set the time for editing post to 30 minutes. I still don't see anything I can change that will help with the forum logging us out, but I will research more.

It must hate "We British" even more. I cant use any of the WYSIWUG tools and I don't get e-mail notifications. My battle axe/old witch "persona" must have put a witches "spell" on this forum instead of MCFs.

I signed up for e-mail notifications to check that and I am not getting them either. We will get that addressed.
