The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has obtained an asset freeze against the operator of a Utah-based international Ponzi scheme that raised more than $207 million from investors worldwide, primarily in the U.S., India and Russia.

In a complaint filed in federal court in Salt Lake City on July 26, the SEC alleges that Traffic Monsoon LLC and Charles Scoville, the company's only member operated an Internet-based Ponzi scheme that they falsely represented to investors was an advertising company.

I was thinking the same thing. If Simon is to be believed he got people to pump $30M into My Advertising Pays and just walked away. Let's call Banners Broker another $20M in losses to his fish list for giggles. The "he was just an affiliate" and "haters are angry they lost money in Banners Broker" both feel a little tired as rationalizations at this juncture.

If someone googles http://www.realscam.com/f16/simon-stepsys-3342/ , finds a thread like this and still invests their money they deserve to lose it. I would contend there is almost no helping them short of hiring a nanny to dole out their allowance.

Anecdotally, I have not seen as much venom toward Simon in the past as I am seeing now. Still, if Stepsys was arrested and all money returned to its rightful owners I am more than convinced many would see a similar "opportunity" on You-Tube and trip over the dog running for their checkbook.

So let me see if I can get this straight. Simon is claiming that 70% of your "income" will come from something called a "Mentor Bonus". In other words, you get a commission on every purchase of "tokens" (for this read "money put into the scheme") by the people under you. Therefore, the more people under you, the more money will be passed up the line to you.
