God he was beautiful. I like this cover so much better than David Bowie's.

Thanks Ribshaw:) I posted Kurt Cobain because I just saw the documentary on HBO the other night. I can't believe it's been 21 YEARS since he killed himself! I was living in Seattle at the time with my ex, and it was quite a traumatic time there. Just made me realize how time flies so exponentially!

I just saw his daughter interviewed somewhere the other day. But yeah it does fly.

Seriously, doesn't it? And I was exactly his age (giving away how old I am now)....but if the past 20 years went by that fast, dear god, in a moment I'm going to be 70!

Wackier still, my mother was from Sweden, my dad from Palermo! (gasp! criminals there!) NEITHER ONE OF THEM SPOKE ENGLISH until they went to school in the US! You'd think they would teach their kids how to speak fluent Italian and Swedish? Of course not! "We speak English in this house!" Sigh...it was that generation, but I miss them both. Happy Mother's Day, Elsa, and Angelo.

those were the days when people 'got it' and appreciated what coming into this country meant. My grandfather was the same way coming from the Ukraine.

Yeah, they were really the best generation ever. Until my dad went back to Italy....My oldest sister took him there in the 80s and he immediately got in a fight with apparently EVERYONE in Rome because he realized how they were trying to rip them off because they thought they couldn't speak Italian. Well, the Italian came out, including the classic hand gesture and the rest! My sister was so embarrassed...lol.

lol. that's awesome. absolutely love the Italian dinners with the throwing of biscuits across the table when someone wants one and isn't near them.

LOL! Italians are the worst, but the absolute best!!! You have no idea what it was like growing up with a Swedish mother and a Sicilian father, and the difference in families.
