Anyone else have a beef with these assholes? I do! (my lawyer is now calling it bad faith claim, which makes insurance companies in the US basically **** their pants) I can't wait!

Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with said insurance company. I believe they are EOC? Or something like that. They insure Enterprise Rental Car drivers who cause accidents, and then don't want to pay a claim....at all!!

Ugh....I was REAR-ENDED by a sort of well known actor on his way to audition...HE was driving Enterprise car with their insurance.....that's where it gets ugly. (My car was totaled, I was pummeled into SUV in front of me) I waited for a month for an offer from Enterprise, nothing...so I got my client (lawyer) involved....and this is where it worries me. I mean, this insurance company is playing so hard ass now, and doesn't want to pay me anything. I'm sure it's because I got lawyer involved. And heavens to Betsy, my lawyer happens to be the Erin Brokovich lawyer and these yahoos in Colorado (home of said insurance co) haven't figured that out yet.

Insurance companies are the worst scourge on the planet!

Indeed it does. In the words of my lawyer...."I have never dealt with such rude, incompetent shitheads ever." But then again he's taking this case on as a favor for me. Makes me cringe at the poor souls without access to a lawyer. Ah, the SCAM of insurance companies in the US.

It's not just the US,

car rental insurance problems are a constant subject of discussion and warnings in Australia as well.

Thanks, LRM, but I'm pretty sure if you just google "Enterprise" there's a lot to be seen there. I was in my lawyer's office today taking a deposition...they were FLOORED by how rudely they were treated by Enterprise, let alone me. They are all gung ho to file an insurance bad faith claim, AND a lawsuit. I'm like, wait a minute....I just want this to be settled. Ugh....once we get lawyers involved it goes on and on, but what choice do we have??

Its like the story of the only lawyer in a small town who could barley make a living, until a second lawyer took up shop, then they both got rich. :RpS_wink:

I looked a little last night and a few things jump out.

What Are the Minimum Liability Insurance Requirements for Private Passenger Vehicles (California Insurance Code §11580.1b)?

$15,000 for injury/death to one person.
$30,000 for injury/death to more than one person.
$5,000 for damage to property.

https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr18

This is dangerously low in any significant accident.

Really the state doesn't matter, many drivers if they are insured at all pick the minimum and likely have little to sue for so this is worth a peek.

Having an attorney handle this and/or filing a claim with your own carrier and letting them sort it out seems like the only low ulcer way to git r done.
