Ptak has been traveling once again and has paid his property taxes. Where did the money for this come from? The mandate in his harassment suit against me case is supposed to be issued today. He owes me tens of thousands, the Ohio judgment is imminent, the criminal case is going forward and there are still many leagues out tens of thousands of dollars. I intend to do everything in my power to see that justice is served!

If you have kids who participate in anything (sports, dance, band, theater, etc.) you have undoubtedly seen the dreaded “Fundraising Flyer”. This colorful document comes home with your child very early in the season and explains the products that you (and the YOU usually means YOU – not your child) are going to have to buy and try and sell to your neighbors. Most people aren’t in sales because it makes them uncomfortable…and the last thing a professional sales person wants to do is sell something in his/her ‘spare’ time that doesn’t generate any commission. The net results are that mom/dad end up buying the product themselves.
That’s how we have done things for years… what’s wrong with that – you ask? Just about everything if you really think about it. Let me explain.
· The vicious left pocket/right pocket cycle – The parents are the ones who already pay the registration fee. So, the team is asking those same parents to spend more of their personal time and money to sell a product for the benefit of the team. And so the circle continues…masking the real out of pocket expense to the parents.
· The money the team makes is almost always very small – How much can you really make selling a candy bar? A dollar? You have to sell a lot of candy bars to have an impact. If your fundraising program sells higher cost items, the same fundamental concept is true..the team will make a small percentage of the sale but sell fewer items because of the cost. Most of us probably still have the cookie dough we bought 2 seasons ago buried in our freezer somewhere.
· In most cases, there is risk to the team. The risk comes in the form of an advanced order or in the distribution/collection of pre-orders. Either way, you are asking parent volunteers to be experts in forecasting and product distribution. With pre-purchases, your team runs the risk of over purchasing (stuck with a garage full of chocolate) or limiting their upside of the fundraiser by not pre-purchasing enough product to meet demand.
· The shoe is too small – with every food or item product, the area in which you can sell that product is limited to your backyard because it does not make sense to sell a candy bar to an uncle in the next state if it going to cost you more to ship the candy bar than you profit from the sale. Thus, the geographic footprint is confined to your small area that is already competing with similar fundraising programs….in a school environment the spring sports don’t have a chance.
This series is not meant to be a bashing of traditional fundraising. Most of the programs are reputable and do help teams raise money. Rather, this article is intended to help parents truly understand the fundraising landscape. As kids/parents pass through organizations, most times the next set of parents does the Christmas Wreath Fundraising simply because “that is how it has always been done”. There is no thought into the amount of risk and work required for the return.
The next article in our series will break down some of the traditional fundraising programs by listing pros and cons of each along with suggestions for improving them.

Registration fees collected through Jevin, net of their commission have not been paid to the ******** Soccer Club Levin has collected and kept a large portion of the registration fees from the ******** Soccer Club in Middletown, NJ. I see many other similar complaints but most have not identified themselves sufficiently to perhaps band together to collect. Many persons and businesses complained about use a divide and conquer strategy, paying portions to the groups that complaint the loudest, or those who take collection to higher levels. It is all about a day saved mentality. If we share a single attorney, in the Allen, Texas venue, to pursue a multi count collection complaint, we can separate the counts of the complaint for each club. It is true that the scale may break the bank, and result in a fractional or no recovery, but it is time to at least stop the process. I am willing to coordinate that effort, although I may not be the Plaintiffs' attorney if it goes to litigation in Texas. I am not being paid by the ******** club, by my choice. Contact ****** E ****** Esq., ********************** Fairfield, NJ XXXXX-XXXX, ************, or ***@joedeming.com. Jevin took and retained about $13,000., due the ******** Soccer Club. By freezing their account, they have denied access to much of the data and documentation that a Plaintiff needs to carry the burden of proof. The print outs available will support a colorable claim and subject to a spoilation charge, the balance of documentation will become available through discovery in the lawsuit. For those of you similarly situated, there may be recourse despite a less than optimal paper trail, and the only way to know is to shake the tree and see what falls out in the form of a response. I do not have confidence that Mr. ****, or the principals of Jevin will respond appropriately to individual and sporadic complaints via emails.

This charity has historically paid its officers very well. Rhonda Ptak shares her home with Daniel Ptak who has left charities with late and missing payments exceeding half of a million dollars. Her husband is also about to go on trial in Florida for felony criminal charges. Is she an appropriate choice to be a public face of this charity? With the many judgments and ongoing civil cases against her husband and his business she is also in dire financial straights as well as court records show.

Perhaps, she should take some time to clean up her life. Suing folks like me that are protecting the public and charities as her husband did never ends well. My daughter's dance studio used Virtual Fan Video to live stream their winter recital. Virtual Fan Video allowed my mother and grandmother to watch. The studio was also able to give two scholarships from the money they raised by selling Virtual Fan Video subscriptions. Everybody wins!

After struggling with Blue Sombrero because we were told to, our board decided to move to Jevin. We are so glad we did. We no longer struggle with basic administrative functions and our need for spreadsheets has disappeared. Not to mention, the Jevin scheduler is probably the best tool we have ever seen.

Virtual Fan Video (VFV) is looking for self-motivated account executives who have a passion for technology, new systems, and innovative solutions. These people will be responsible for creating sales strategies, finding leads, communicating with prospects and closing business. If you are excited at the prospect of presenting a new and better way for sports teams to raise money, this job is for you.

Responsibilities include educating customers about our solution, lead generation (including cold calling) and generating new sales. Prior sales experience is not required but the perfect candidate would have experience on a booster club board or with fundraising for a sports team.

VFV provides a unique solution for sports teams, fine arts groups and dance studios that allows these organizations to use live streaming as a fundraiser. The VFV business model is such that there is not risk for the organization (they never pay a penny) and no equipment to purchase.
