Why cant we put forums like Board Message (http://www.moneymakergroup.com) (there is more of them) offline because that clearly organized crime?!

The site owners are not responsible for what third parties post under federal law. And, if MMG wasn't there another would pop up in its place. Heck, free press release services and social sites like Facebook are littered with scammers pushing their crap. We need to go after the scams and scammers and shut them down. That is what I intend to help accomplish by blogging here.

We must do something more than just Blogging and discuss it on forums. There must be laws against it (worldwide)! If not we must bring new laws!WORLDWIDE Like when you put sign no hunting in the Forrest put SCAM on those pages until they perish to oblivion.. Sanction SCAMMERS with life imprisonment or 10-15 years and you will se the change. It is possible to a 10 year boy/girl to go on freelancer (here is the link: link) (http://www.freelancer.com/work/hyip-script/) and order one hyip script and start illegal business. ARE YOU F*** KIDDING ME !!! Hit the problem in the root. Sanction those people first and think about this until your head hurts(Not you Soapboxmom) this goes to all of us and especially to the people who have the authority ! This is most their fault! They think they are so smart ... Those guys(scammers) are 1000 times smarter than you (believe me) start learning not discussing and pumping your ego.. NOW !

In the big pic, hyip are for moving illegal $. PC technology after 911 caught up your traditional $ laundering.
A terrorist/organized crime member/drug dealer can just use his pay process debit card wherever. No worries on tracing or carrying $.

Sell dope, go to Western Union, its in the processor=clean.

Small pic, so many millions love hyip/ponzi. Some cultures its integral to their psyche.
For an American who is savvy, its like a well paying second job, tax free. Even 1 out of 10 success=working in profit.

Just so many levels to what you want to do above.
Big Pic-war on terror needs to look deep at where hyip $ goes.
Small pic-better to seize $, do fines, and set up general victim relief fund.

What, exactly are you suggesting? Hit the problem how? Sanction the people how? Perhaps you would be well served to familiarize yourself with the complexity of the problem and then consider what we, as private citizens can, or have the authority to actually do. Usually our activities are reporting suspected scams to Law Enforcement/Regulators and trying to advise victims and potential victims on how to avoid and what to look for. The problem is compounded, however by the multitude of "player" that see nothing wrong with making illegal money and the fact that most governments don't have the political will to put more resources into the fight. That is WAY over-simplified, but you get the drift.

The guys running them are for the most part invisible, it's sadly just not realistic to go hunting down every HYIP scammer hiding in a hole in Vanatu. You want to make a real dent, go after the pimps and ref whores, who are for the most part in the USA or Eurozone, using their real names and bank accounts that are gettable in terms of seizures. Put Faith Sloan and Ken Russo in jail and you'd be doing more in the long run that shutting down a dozen scams.

One of the biggest problems is that law enforcement and lawmakers worldwide are only just catching up with the transfer of crime to the internet. Like the public, they too are late to realise the scope and vast sums of money that can be stolen using the internet. That is quite apart from the lack of resources available to law enforcement worldwide.

HOWEVER, there is hope, as evidenced by the action of the Secret Service in the case of ASD and the recent actions against Zeek Rewards and Profitable Sunrise. They are fiinally "getting it", including the existence of anonymity of the people who operate the fraudulent schemes. In the case of Profitable Sunrise, the authorities are going after the owners of the bank accounts and a couple of the pimps and are not relying on the "identity" of one Roman Novak.

Equally, the charges against ASD and others now include Money Laundering and Wire Fraud - which indicates the recognition by law enforcers that the monies in the fraudulent schemes come from many sources and may be applied for many things, including narco traffic, terrorism and other illegal issues that destabilize countries and communities.

I agree with Gregg - more action against the ponzi pushers will be the most effective way of stamping out the HYIP frauds. Without their salesmen and their downlines, the owners of programs will have a harder time in finding members.

If you add to that the complicity of offshore payment processors to the mix of pimps and hustlers, then you would make an even bigger hole in the HYIP "industry". It is time that governments take action against processors which accept money from their citizens which would be impossible through national processors and banks.

Welcome to RealScam!

I am just guessing that you are very upset about one specific company out there that is operating on a fine line between legal and illegal. I would state 'in my opinion' they are high level scammers and taking lots of money from people who have 'earned' it through their programs. I also understand your frustration but it takes a lot of time and effort to get the attention of internet legal reps to have an effect on these schemes. Many are trying and as they try, the criminals attack from other ways and close down sites that post negative remarks against them. Yes, they know all the ways of pulling this off and as many will notice in RS, sites are targeted for Ddos attacks BECAUSE they are getting results!

I was sorry to learn this morning that freelancer.com has been able to have certain efforts removed. I agree with you, is there nothing that can be done about freelancer??

I invite members and guests of RS to visit this site and check out the listings. If you are convinced of these being 'the real thing' please let us know.

It has just been brought to my notice that the Facebook page against this scam and the petition I started against them have both been taken down. this is so typical of Matt Barrie's and freelancer.com's tactics. In no way am I hinting that this is your blog because so many others have been ripped off by this company and you can find them all over the internet, I hope the Facebook page will revive and there will be even more of them to pop up, so many that Matt Barrie cannot control them.

One thing I do disagree with you on is the fact that the scammers are smart. Oh, they think they are!! They even love to spout it off so much so many times that is what lands them in hot water. Let us make sure we cause them enough trouble to have them come to RealScam and try to pump their ego!! That would be better than watching 'some other things going on'. No, they are not so smart and they DO GET CAUGHT!! Just a matter of time...

Why would you bother going to Freelancer and paying for a HYIP program ???

Do a quick Google and you can find anything you need, HYIPwise.

With a little bit more effort, you can get ANYTHING you want on IRC, most of it for free.

There are no simplistic solutions to what is a multi BILLION dollar "industry"

What's more, unless and until our political masters say "enough is enough" and allocate the resources needed to at least make a start at controlling this beast, it will continue to grow at its' current exponential rate until they are FORCED to act when "everyones" suspicions that the online fraud industry is financing criminal and terrorist organizations are confirmed.

I don't think he is, I can feel for his frustration.

As a relative newcomer to the scene (late last year), I am astounded at what goes on in the HYIP world and how it can operate in the open so blatantly. Authorities appear to be unable or unwilling to do anything except in the most extreme cases. Whether it is jurisdictional issues, or just simply trying to pinpoint evidence that will stand up in a court of law, it seems that the HYIPers have the upper hand, and will do for quite some time ahead. Complaints to authoritities in my country have been met with blank walls - no feedback, nothing. Makes you wonder what the point of caring is, if those whose job it is to care appear not to.

Its quite absurd that in this day and age, more can't be done about them. I appreciate it is a complex problem with no simple answer, I am just saying how I feel and I guess HYIP=SCAM feels too.

AUTHORITIES ARE NOT RETARDED, regulations have to be followed, laws adhered to, evidence collected and verified, etc.

Why you would even want to be rude in RealScam when people are trying to understand and perhaps in some cases, helping you? Well, that is your problem. There are many people here who will take you to task in statements such as that, so have at it.

I wonder sometimes about a few of the drive by posters, but what I have not been able to figure is why scammers come and ask about their own programs. As if anyone here is going to start gushing all over them to pimp their program.
