There are only 78 members, yet 3 new threads were started in the MLM section today.
The rumors of this forum's demise are greatly exaggerated.

Nothing unusual is happening here.

Do a quick Google on "Tuckmans' Stages of Group Development" then see if you can identify at which stage the forum sits:

Forming – Storming – Norming – Performing

We are growing and expanding. As the search engines pick up the great threads here we will have a lot more activity. Invite all of your friends and lets keep it rolling. We should quickly be seeing hundreds of readers and dozens of posts a day on a variety of topics. Start your favorites!

Remember a similiar site went from a much slower start just 5 years ago to over 150,000 members and 335,000 reads a month before it began its downhill slide. Those readers who can't find anything on Google for that site that plays musical IP addresses will find a great home here. Let's keep welcoming new members, posting challenging and inviting threads and have a fabulous time here!

Oh, you have to consider the time of year for one thing.

People are at camp, traveling, outdoors - not cooped up inside stuck to a computer screen.

Let me ask you a question.

Just how much is that "other" site growing?

Look at the bottom of the home page where they welcome the newest member. I see today's message is: Welcome to our newest member, Reptile5

Now click on the newest member's name and see how many posts they have made.

I'll give you a clue - the answer is 0.

How come all the posts made over there are being made by the regular established members and not newbies?

When was the last time a new member actually made a post there?

There's a reason I'm asking, and some people know what I'm getting at.

In addition to it being summer in the Northern Hemisphere, a traditionally quiet time for forums, the HYIP ponzi "business" is in an all time low at the minute.

The very public collapse and prosecution of AdSurf Daily, the faster than usual disintegration of the follow up ASD "clones," an apparent crackdown on ponzi scams generally, an increase in public awareness of how a "ponzi" works and the disappearance of several big name HYIP ponzi "games" i.e. "Gold Nugget Investment" (GNI) and "Genius Funds" have all contributed to a period of relative peace. The usual suspect HYIP ponzi forums are dead quiet at the moment.

Similarly, the "big name" scam MLMs such as Yoli, Numis Networks and the multiple attempts at telecommunication MLM are quite capable of doing a number on themselves with very little outside interference necessary.

yes, I do know who you are talking about. Isn't it about time to just stop talking about them over there in that " other site ". Do you want this site to be just like them or would you rather continue trying to build a really great site where folks can have a decent conversation. Yes they are dying, so why not just let them do that.

It has been said that here we talk a lot about them and there they talk a lot about us. So in all reality, isn't that what you are trying to get away from, being like them.

Not sure if you're referring to my post, or LRM's, but I wasn't referring to any individual.

What I was getting at was that there is at least one specific reason why new members aren't posting "over there".

I pointed this out to SBM and a few other members in private as I don't want to give George any unnecessary information.

He's got problems that he likely isn't aware of and I'll leave it at that. :RpS_wink:

I find it interesting that my post and littleroundman's first post were ignored by the OP.
So now I'm wondering... Why was this thread started? :RpS_confused:

Maybe they're not real people?

Like spambots.

"I pointed this out to SBM and a few other members in private as I don't want to give George any unnecessary information."

I'm wondering how George would find out. Do you think he's coming here and reading our posts?

I didn't think he would be interested in doing that.

So now I'm wondering... Why was this thread started?

It's called having nothing better to do. It's also referred to as bashing. It's time to move on as we've already had and continue to get the dregs from over yonder that only come here for one reason and one reason only. I'm not a mod, but should it continue, this site will become a carbon copy of the other site and the door should be held open and there should be an escort available to take them right back where they belong. Enough is enough.

It's pretty obvious.

Actually, I knew that. It was rhetorical in nature. :RpS_wink:

I am beyond fed up with it and I am coming here less because of that already. Three times in less than a week is enough for me.

I completely understand your POV, ALA. But I'm going to hope you will continue to contribute to this web site. Your MLM threads and contributions about certain "lofty" matters are very valuable.

It's pretty obvious. We've seen the same exact same pattern already by active Scam current members several times since this site started and three times alone now in a matter of a few days. Come here and act friendly and then immediately start some kind of crap with a member here or multiple members (in this latest instance - an attack over their avatar, of all stupid things) no participation at all in any of the scam threads/forums or post nothing of any real value or meaning in any of those forums and threads - which is the main function and purpose of this site - and if all else fails - start bashing the site itself and when members here take offense at that, accuse them of being like the Scam site and tell them to move on. Then we get the drama queen exit.

This exact same scenario has now played out several times on this site. The baggage of scam just keeps dragged over here by Scam members themselves and played out over and over again and it's getting damn old in my opinion. Instead of questioning this site, the Mods and it's members, current Scam members who join here, need to ask themselves why they are really here and what they have contributed to the scam forums and threads here, which again is why this site was formed and is it's main focus, instead of continuing to attack this site and it's members and it's Mods.

As Tom just stated, I am also not a Mod here either, but this behavior needs to stop and it needs to be nipped in the bud. If you don't like it here find something better to do with your time instead of coming here just to continue to stir the pot and then piss all over this site, the Mods and it's members, attack them and then attack them again when they respond to your continued, ongoing baiting, condemning behavior. It's a vicious cycle and it needs to end. I know I am beyond fed up with it and I am coming here less because of that already. Three damn times in less than a week, is enough for me.

I will do my part on this site...

I think mlm is great... Discuss??

A quick question before I answer:

What percentage of the eleventy two and a half squillion MLMs which currently exist must contain elements of being a "scam" before it is considered OK to make the statement "all MLMs are scams" or, conversely "all MLMs are great" ???

Similarly, how many "scams within scams" must an MLM contain before said MLM itself is deemed a "scam" ???

For example, should an MLM drink company lie about the benefit/s of consuming its' product, would such lies on their own make the MLM a "scam" ???

If the company then went on to use fake research would they qualify as "scammers" ???

How about if the same company simultaneously included warnings about the dangers of allowing children to use their product and featured infant children in their advertising, would that count ????

Do "errors by omission" count the same as "downright lies" ???

Is "spin doctoring" and/or "creative language" permissible, indeed desirable, as in "all's fair in love and war and MLM"
