I recently came across this blog. The blogger is pushing affiliate marketing and Wealthy Affiliate University, but his take on MLMs rings true.

MLM Myths:
Passive Income Myth
Quick Profits Myth
Product Blow Up Myth
“MLM Is The Future” Myth
The Personal Development Myth
“Here’s a Better MLM Method” Myth

I have been in multiple MLMs. I have even had success, which is more than what most MLM “associates” could say. I am not just an MLM basher, I’ve put my money, time, and heart out on the line for companies just to get burned. I’m not against anyone or any company (well, maybe a few) personally…Just trying to help those associates who are putting themselves out there for a company to be smashed…

I found it a good read about multi-level marketing, regardless of his motives.

it's just one big joke.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. I was up front about what this person was promoting, and even linked back to his web page.

From my perspective, he reported things about MLMs that have been validated elsewhere.
Do I know if he's ever even been in an MLM? Nope, I don't. But unless you care to refute anything he had to say, I stand by my thread, and the information posted about MLMs. I could have easily just copied and pasted a lot of his points, and changed some wording and the title, and no one would have been the wiser.

I have often posted quotes from former MLMers on blogs and forums, with link backs to where I found them. There is no way to validate their claims. But other reputable anti-MLM web sites do the same every day.

I know very little about affiliate marketing, and even less about the site he is promoting. But I do know quite a bit about MLMs.

I agree - thanks, Emet.

Yes, clearly he has some promotional motivation, as you said. I believe the thing he's promoting actually has a rather good reputation, and the only criticisms I've seen of it anywhere are that it's perhaps a bit expensive for what it is, comprising mostly information available in other places at a lower cost - but then again, that's true one way or another for most online "information products/services", isn't it?

About MLM, in general, he's certainly pretty perceptive.
