Just got an email about some program involving mysterious gifts directly to bank accounts via Johanna Welt and Omega Blessings 2012 group, but I have no further information at this time. Anybody?

Could be associated with the threads by PHH here in RS about Blessings 2010, there are about 3 or 4.

I can't find anything related to Omega blessings. Could you cut and paste some of the e-mail here? Sounds like something we should check out further.

Thanks,

I'm coming up empty-handed too. I don't see a Johanna Welt anywhere in my files.

Will see what I've got. It was not a promo mail, but a mail from a friend who had received something, so I will see if I can post what I have while respecting his privacy. It is pretty weird...

OK... here is a cut-out from an email I received:

"I have submitted your contact information to a lady whom I
was a partner with in an online program called VoiParty. (Note-Voiparty is another one that needs a good spanking... and maybe steel bracelets...)

Never mind that. Just know that she is the recipient of a
humanitarian package for which she is submitting a list of
names and contact info to the bank.

I am responsible for submitting your info and I am also responsible
for making sure you are willing to accept a call or email from
the bank to set up an appointment. What that entails is beyond
me at this point in time. I will know more on that when I can
attend one of her web conferences. However, I want you to be
willing to accept the call from the bank in a professional, discreet
and courteous manner. My instructions were to be sure that
everyone I submit is willing to do that.

Also, if you get a call, tell them that you are working with Johanna
in the Omega Project.

The gifts offered through this program are VERY substantial and
non-taxable. There is no cost associated with this program.

You may receive an email from omegablessings2012@gmail.com
so be sure to read whatever you get from them.

Why is this being done?

The program is but part of an overall restructuring of the global
economic system (which many of us realize is in very desperate
condition). It is designed to, among other things, create global
economic liquidity and capitalize the global banking system.

Right now this is for US Citizens only BUT they are trying to
include Canadians as well as others. Those who are not US Citizens,
I listed your information anyway and we'll see what happens."

"After submitting your contact info to Johanna, I received the
following email from her. Please read and heed if you can.

I will try to be on one of the calls Thursday, but I don't know
if I can be or not. I hope one of us can. Otherwise, we may
all be in the dark.

It sounds strange, I know. But what will it hurt to receive a
nice fund for our bank accounts?"

--------------(Scams always hurt someone)----------------

This one was sent to my friend:

"Welcome to the Omega Blessings 2012 group!

ADD to your email contact list:
omegablessings2012@gmail.com

Please send THIS response to everyone on your list OR contact them and
keep them informed. They need to know what's going on.

You and everyone on your list is invited to join Johanna for a
conference call - it will not be recorded
Thursday - October 25
12 Noon ET
4 pm ET
9 pm ET
Dial - (605) 477-3000
Enter Access Code - 155388#

After the list is submitted to the bank, Johanna will NOT be able to
communicate with anyone for 30-90 days because she will be signing a
Non-Disclosure at the bank.

EACH RECIPIENT MAY ONLY RECEIVE 1 OMEGA HUMANITARIAN GIFT.
Once you have set up everything with the BANK, do NOT accept another
gift from an OMEGA Package. You will lose everything!

The amount of the gift for people on this list will be the maximum
amount allowed by the program.

The bank will contact EACH person on the list to set up an appointment.
The bank may call AND/OR send an email - check your spam/junk folder.
We don't know which bank - just be on alert!

This is an on-going program. Those participating in a professional,
discreet and courteous manner may be invited to submit additional
names at a later date.

When you make your appointment with the BANK ~
PLEASE send an email to this email address: OmegaBlessings2012@gmail.com
Tell Johanna the date they contacted you and the date of your appointment

Johanna needs to know that the BANK is doing it's job!

When you finish with the bank and have your funds, please email
Johanna and tell her!

AGAIN - PLEASE KEEP THE PEOPLE ON YOUR LIST INFORMED!"

This is all I have. I did not get in on that call that was listed, so do not have that information.

I find it very strange that they are able to keep this so quiet.

There is this site out of India, but don't know yet if it is related: Omega Blessing Social Welfare Media Trust in Coimbatore Ho, Coimbatore | Ngos | Justdial (http://www.justdial.com/Coimbatore/Omega-Blessing-Social-Welfare-Media-Trust-%3Cnear%3E-Nalvar-Layout-Coimbatore-Ho/0422PX422-X422-120330154450-D9I4_Q29pbWJhdG9yZSBDaGlsZHJlbiBXZWxmYXJlIE9yZ2Fua XNhdGlvbnM=_BZDET)

Thank you for the links. 2010blessings.com sounds eerily like the same stuff in the emails... you might be right about this. It definitely bears further digging. These outfits are slippery. I have repeatedly warned people about these gifting programs... I tell folks the same thing I told my kids... a gift is not a gift if you expect something in return. That makes ANY "gifting" program going around a scam.

This one seems to have a different twist that I just don't have enough information, yet, to understand. There is no mention of giving anything that I can see; only of having some mysterious benefactor put some unnamed sum in your bank account.

My QUICK take on this is that someone may be trying to steal personal banking information.

Wow! Wow! Wow! It is hard to know where to begin. Substantial gifts that are not taxable in the U.S.??? And this:

The program is but part of an overall restructuring of the global
economic system (which many of us realize is in very desperate
condition). It is designed to, among other things, create global
economic liquidity and capitalize the global banking system.

These folks are going to restructure the entire global economic and banking systems??? These scammers are taking BS to a whole new level! As the fate of the entire world hangs in the balance I would suggest the original e-mail go to the FBI:

FBI — Internet Fraud (http://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/fraud/internet_fraud)

Thanks for sharing Klagoosh!

I did find someone using that phone number with a different pin, and talk of "financial freedom" and "massive income," but I don't have enough data to tie or deny a connection between this and him. The fact that I don't see anything connecting him to Oct. 25th is in his favor.

As far as a possible 2010 Blessings tie-in, I am, I must say, extremely dubious. The description in the emails sounds closer to a new twist on the Nigerian 419 scam from where I'm seated.

This one sounds like a hybrid of a cash-gifting scam and a prime-bank swindle, perhaps coupled with data harvesting. Prime-bank swindles almost always sell themselves as super-secret organizations available only to special people willing to be discreet. On Nov. 19, the SEC charged two 70-year-olds in an alleged prime-bank caper operating in multiple U.S. states but largely centered in Georgia.

Among the claims was that a secret enterprise known as "The Trust" funded "humanitarian projects around the world.”

Data harvesting did cross my mind, Patrick, but I'm woefully unfamiliar with prime bank scams and wouldn't recognize the type. I'd just see that it was almost certainly fraudulent.
