All of the information reproduced here is obtained from the public domain and is done so completely legally.

Cash gifting, on the other hand is NOT legal, either in Australia or the United States.

One of the major problems we are pointing out to people is that, by becoming involved with cash gifting, they are placing THEMSELVES at risk, both by advertising the fact and attaching their personal details to their cash gifting activities.

If a bunch of rank amateurs on an internet forum can find them and connect them, who else can ??

What this program is doing not a "donation," Chris, but a security. And a fraudulently presented one.
It is illegal in the state from which it originates (Michigan), as stated by the chief legal authority of that state at AG - Cash Gifting Schemes (http://www.michigan.gov/ag/0,4534,7-164-17337_20942-201450--,00.html)

I don't have the address of the authorities in Queensland immediately on hand, but the ones in Western Australia say that this program violates Australian laws, too. Department of Commerce - WA ScamNet - Pyramid Schemes and chain letters (http://www.scamnet.wa.gov.au/scamnet/Types_Of_Scams-Pyramid_Schemes_and_chain_letters.htm)
If you're in New Zealand, the penalties for participation or promotion of such programmes is twice that of Austalia's laws.
