Please please please please please please .....stop self medicating!

One particular medication / drug is my focus.......nicotine!

I will be most happy to lose the work!

Sorry promised myself I would post this before I go...have way to many obese, smoking, diabetic and medication non compliant clients asking me for a quick fix to their cardiac or respiratory issues.....

Your doctor will help and there are self help / support groups in every country...if you love your family and life....stop talking about it and do it....make a plan....try and fail as many times as is necessary but don't give up trying!
I believe in you all and know you can do it!
The cigarette companies being allowed to sell this poison is a SCAM !

Well, it is when the government wants to be hypocrites about it. If everyone that does smoke actually quit, the government would end up in a tailspin with the loss of tax revenue and programs it funds. I've quit for 8 years now. Went cold turkey. People need to want to quit. They have to mentally keep telling themselves over and over "I need to quit smoking".

The cost of smokers chronic disease burden outweighs the tax collected, here are some interesting developments from govt here where I am currently,
Tobacco giant rallies against NZ plain packaging - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-08-22/nz-cigarettes/4215880)

Here the burden stats for Australia.

I don't know about down under but the US has many federal/state programs that are funded by tobacco tax - not all health related.

Hey, THERE'S some common ground!

I personally quit on the 3rd of August, 2007. Cold Turkey, like you.

There's STILL not a day that goes by that I don't have to mentally tell myself NO! I WILL NOT SMOKE!

To quit, you gotta want it. Not for the wife. Not for the hubby. Not for the kids. Not because you're in-laws are complaining about the smell. For YOU. Starting the habit and continuing it are selfish acts. So is quitting.

But quitting is GOOD selfish...

No need for zyban. Just a hard decision that'll stick.

Yes, stop self medicating and take complete medical checkup before using any medicine.
Many people use the medicines without the doctor's instructions which in return various health complication and their condition become uncontrollable. So don't self medicating and follow the doctor's instruction.
