I started a thread over at the "other forum" with the same title as this one. I have a feeling though, with the history that forum has with acquiescing to the threats of a lawsuit from the scammers if they don't pull the offending thread about them, that this thread will join the long list of other similar threads that have vanished into cyberspace.

Especially considering who the person in question is and her history of bullying people that don't give into her demands.

Anyways, for what it's worth, let's start off with my OP and take it from there!

************************************************** *******************

Looks like the poops really hitting the fan at Nu Skin!

First, this latest story from the Salt Lake Tribune:

Nu Skin co-founder embroils company in her marital maelstrom (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/money/54371276-79/nederveen-van-skin-tillotson.html.csp?page=1)

Books by two ex-husbands prompt lawsuit as share price plummets.

Seems her current husband is writing a tell all story about his time with Sandra Tillotson and the inner workings of Nu Skin:

Trophy Husband - My Time Observing the 1% Feeding on the 99% (http://diederikvannederveen.com/)

Sample chapters available to read there plus a lot of other great information.

Another husband of hers wrote a similar expose on his time with her:

FORMERLY FILTHY RICH - My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar (http://mlmfu.com/adambakersbook.html)

He published the book in October 2011 and within a week the book had been bullied off the internet. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Lulu, and more, bowed to the threats of Sandie's and Nu Skin's lawyers to remove the book. A modern day book burning!

Not to worry!

Adam Baker promptly put the book on line to read - at the link above.

Man, this is terrific!

An excerpt from the 1st chapter - she had just picked him up from the bar where he worked as Dirty Dalton - a male stripper.

He describes seeing her naked the first time:

"All of a sudden, the double French doors opened and there she stood, stark naked. I wasn’t sure if she was expecting a reaction, applause, or just pure shock, but she got at least two of those from me. I immediately zeroed in on her boobs. Definitely fake, not too bad, but could use an update.

I fancied myself as an expert on tits –– it was my full time hobby...

I scanned down to the rest of her body –– there was skin dangling everywhere. Loose folds of skin all over her stomach, hanging below what I thought was a small, tight waistline, at least it looked that way in clothing. Her crotch was shaved, which surprised me. Usually the older women liked to hold on to their bush, but obviously Sandie was a purveyor of Playboy and knew what the younger women were doing. As she bent down to get in the hot tub, I caught a glimpse of her backside. It was shocking. Her ass reminded me of the ass on an elephant, the way their butt cheeks just cave in, with absolutely no muscularity or definition, just skin. I instantly went soft. I thought, there is no way I could ever be with this woman. I could never look at that, day after day. I immediately began eliminating all of my favorite sex positions..."

Yeah, no wonder she wanted the book banned!

But Adam Baker's not backing down either.

This should be good!!!!

Gotta love it. Time to quote more of this comedic gold and more. The Nuskin numbers are quite naughty to be sure. And, those in the know, know how naughty the top execs and top distributors are now!

O course, it didn't take long for those two MLM chimps Heiney & Chrispy to respond to my post...

Old news...

More mountains from mole-hills from DocBunko!

Also, what does this have to do with Nuskin, the company really?

Not much...Click Here! (http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-price/?symbol=nus)

This is about one of their founding distributors personal life.

Also, when was the book released, and since it's release, how much has it effected Nuskin corp?

Again, old news...

More mountains from mole-hills from DocBunko! Grasping for straws...

Typical, for a whiney, Anti-MLM bigot like you...:judges: hope you enjoy the book...it seems like just the kind of trash that someone like you would get a lot out of...

Kind of pathetic, IMO.

Husband falls out with wife, takes it out on her business.
Slow news day at scum.comedy.....Doc Bunkum dying to be fed.

Ha! Ha!

You two MLM chimps should read a few of those links I provided and learn a thing or two.

Especially the truth of the 1% feeding off the other 99% - meaning you two bozos. You're supporting the lavish lifestyles of the folks at the top of the pyramid and don't even know you're getting hosed.

Or maybe you do and enjoy being screwed over.

This exerpt from My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar:

That week, we looked at 20 or more apartments, including the new AOL Time Warner building, which had begun its initial presales of condos. The top floor 8,000 square foot penthouse was still available, with an asking price of $50,000,000. It was the only apartment Sandie couldn’t stop talking about- the idea of buying the most expensive, exclusive penthouse in Manhattan would give her the instant New York socialite status she craved.

Up to this point, I knew Sandie was wealthy, but I hadn’t realized how wealthy...

We offered $29,900,000 for the top floor apartment, and the offer was promptly accepted.

To celebrate, Sandie booked an appointment with Frederic Fekkai, the famous celebrity stylist. I walked her over to the salon on Fifth Avenue, and watched while Frederic cut, colored, and teased Sandie’s micro-thin hair. I felt sorry for him, there wasn’t much he could do. Sandie whipped out her black credit card to pay the ridiculous $600 bill, and loaded up two shopping bags full of hair products. Of course, I would be the one lugging the bags. It was a long way back to the hotel but luckily we could cut through Central Park. Annoyed, I asked why she needed all the shampoo, since she owned a company that made every beauty product imaginable.

“Are you serious?” she said, laughing. “NuSkin creates all of their products for a huge return and markup, not for quality. I would never use their products!”

I thought of my kids back home, their bathroom stocked full of NuSkin products, and imagined my daughter’s long blonde hair breaking off and swirling down the drain after using the cheap shampoo. I made a mental note to get rid of all the NuSkin products so that my children weren’t at risk from the cheap and potentially dangerous products. I couldn’t help thinking about how greedy Sandie was.

And I suppose you believe MLM products are more expensive because they're better quality.

Right.

Think - is some entrepreneur starting a company really going to go to the supplier and say: "I want the most expensive product you can make. Money is no object.".

Well, maybe you believe that.

Hell, not to long ago Ralph Carson, the original developer of Monavie and the company’s chief science officer, cautioned that the juice was "expensive flavored water and that “any claims made are purely hypothetical, unsubstantiated and, quite frankly, bogus,". Carson added "if you were to ask me how much acai is in the product, I do not know."

In fact, a nutritional analysis showed that MonaVie Active juice "tested extremely low in anthocyanins and phenolics" and that "even apple juice (which also tested poorly) has more phenolics" The report also noted that "MonaVie’s vitamin C level was 5 times lower than that of Welch’s Grape Juice," a product priced at a fraction of the cost of MonaVie for the same serving volume.

I could go on and on, but I think the objective reader can clearly see MLM for what it is - a SCAM.

And I suppose you two will always believe MLM products are more expensive because they're so much better quality.

Right.

And what does this have to do with Nuskin?

NOTHING...

As I said, enjoy the book.

Reading about Sandy's sex life gives you a thrill like no other, I'm sure...

THIS IS MY LAST POST ON THIS CRAP THREAD...DON'T BOTHER REPLYING...:judges:

The fact that the co-founder of the company is quoted as saying: “Are you serious? NuSkin creates all of their products for a huge return and markup, not for quality. I would never use their products!”

You just don't get it do you - either that or you're living in denial.

MLM is all about selling crap products at vastly inflated prices.

” Sell the Sizzle Not The Steak” – was Elmer Wheeler's famous line.

And nowhere is that more true than in MLM.

Take some cheap grease, stick it in a jar, label it as "Creamy Hydrating Masque", make up some cockamamie story about how wonderful it is, design a compensation plan nobody can understand, and PRESTO! you're in business.

You're practically assured there'll be a waiting sales force of willing chimps like you and Doyle to handle all the marketing costs for you. More money in the company coffers. Ka-ching!

Another excerpt from the book....

Without hesitation, she yanked my boxers down.

“Oh my god. I think I’m in love” she said, as she started vigorously licking and sucking.

She never came up for air. It was, without a doubt, the most professional, by the book porn star blowjob I’d ever had. No interruptions, no coughing, stopping, or insecurity. “Uh, wow ––that was incredible.” I said. It was the best compliment I could muster. I thought she’d probably spent many years perfecting that art.

She pressed her breasts up against my chest and put her arms around my neck, with one swift movement mounted me. I didn’t even know I was in at first, she was so loose it was like being inside a paper sack. I thought, you could literally fit a two-liter bottle in there!

Uh, yeah!

Good PR for NU Skin for sure!

Here are more gems:
Sample Chapter Cognitive Dissonance (http://diederikvannederveen.com/sample-chapter-cognitive-dissonance)

....She was number 578 on the list of former Nu Skin distributors that I’d called. All of them had left the business. I looked at the name-filled bag on the floor. If I weren’t so exhausted, there were at least another 150 people I could call. For three weeks I dedicated two hours a day to calling Nu Skin distributors who’d left their cards in a large bowl Sandie had placed in her office during Nu Skin conventions. Many had also handed me their cards directly when I met them on our trips to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, Sweden, Brazil, Guatemala, Peru, Hong Kong, Florida, New York, Chicago, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and other places Sandie and I had traveled to promote Nu Skin and meet distributors.....

I became an active distributor and worked like hell, and then my down-line just collapsed. It simply wasn’t working even though I did everything my up-line told me to do. I even spent $15,000 of my own money to make it work — well, to make it look like it was working. You know, as a leader you have to look like you’re actually making money to convince anyone in your cold market to even sign up.”

“I’ve heard that a lot,” I’d reply. “What have you been doing since then?”
“Anything but Nu Skin or any of those other MLMs. I found websites that spell out the truth, and now I understand the deception. I’ve called all the people in my down-line and apologized.” Interesting concept, I thought — apologizing to all the people you lured into Nu Skin who had no idea what they were getting into.

What he told me verified everything I’ve heard from other individuals associated with Nu Skin. One former Chicago-based distributor who didn’t want me to mention her name said, “I only invested about $2,000, maybe $3,000, but I lost all my friends, and I estranged several family members and wasted about two years of my life. It’s simply impossible to get anywhere in that business unless you were one of the early birds —a Tillotson, Roney, or McDermott — or if you’re related to one of the founders. Trust me, I’ve done what I was told to do. I talked to anyone with a heartbeat and invited them to meetings where my up-line would ramble through the same hyped-up opportunity pitches only to watch the people I signed up quit within a year.”

The conversation I had with former Hawaiian Blue Diamond Executive Marc B. was particularly revealing because I never thought that once you reach that magic level of income immunity, things could turn against you. “Hey, Marc, how are you?” I asked. “What was it that made you get out of Nu Skin?”

He said, “After Frank Kelley, the Attorney General of Michigan, attacked Nu Skin, calling it an illegal pyramid scheme, my group lost momentum and collapsed. I couldn’t keep the growth going, especially when Barbara Walters went on the air with her rants against MLM.”

“What was your best month’s income bonus?”
“The best I ever did was $135,000, which was great while it lasted, but it’s hard to keep fifteen frontline executives going with the enormous attrition rates.”

Marc’s challenge wasn’t unusual. The attrition that occurs when distributors drop out and are not replaced with more warm bodies is the biggest problem in the MLM world. After that call, I took a look at the charges the Michigan Attorney General made and noticed that he was of course right to call Nu Skin an illegal pyramid scheme, but he failed to point out all the flaws in the system. A big one is the requirement that every distributor must purchase $100 worth of Nu Skin products every month in order to remain active within the distribution down-line. Blake Roney and Nu Skin Spokesperson Jason Chaffetz never mentioned that in their sales pitches. In other words, Nu Skin seems to be a product-oriented sales-driven company, but the reason why most of the products get sold is because the whole distributor force is required to buy them month after month, not because there’s a huge market of independent consumers out there looking to purchase Nu Skin products......

To hear so many of the people I’d met through Nu Skin confess their plight, some of them sobbing, others angry and resentful, jolted me emotionally. At first I couldn’t believe it, and I kept looking at the numbers and then realized how disturbing it was that the insiders who know the truth actually still go out there and sell Nu Skin as an opportunity. Then feelings of anger and confusion took hold of me, and I wondered how Sandie could explain her own part in all this, knowing that most of the distributors who join Nu Skin have zero chance to succeed.

I wasn’t done — far from it — so I sought the help of Dr. Jon M. Taylor, the author of several books and articles on the MLM industry who holds a PhD in psychology and an MBA degree. Grant had told me that when distributors fail and leave the company, they don’t hold grudges and blame themselves. I asked Jon why this was so, and the answer he gave me explained what goes on in the minds of people when they make a bad judgment call. “Most people wrongly assume that if they failed, it must be because they didn’t work hard enough, or else they neglected to do what it takes to succeed — it’s their fault, not the fault of the system. The mental process is called ‘cognitive dissonance.’ It happens when you commit yourself to something you totally believe in, but when you receive contrary evidence that challenges your beliefs, you refuse to process it. You ignore the reality in favor of the illusion because reality forces you to act out of your comfort zone and acknowledge that you’ve been wrong......

Jon Taylor and Robert Fitzpatrick have pointed out the mathematical reality that it is simply impossible for every Nu Skin distributor to sign up five people, who in turn sign up five more people, each of whom signs up another five people, and so on. These distributors would exhaust the global population within thirteen levels. Contrary to what the leaders of Nu Skin say, there is no amount of hard work that would make it possible for the billions on the thirteenth level to sign up even one more person. In other words, the pyramidal structure of this business has been proven quantitatively impossible. The truth is that the business is designed not so that the masses will make money, but so that only a select few at the top of a huge group of losers will reap large rewards.....

“I’ve already told my close friends that if anything happens to me, they should go ahead and publish the book without me. If that’s the way I have to go, so be it. I will not let a bunch of abusers get away with it. I will send them and the rare Nu Skin distributor, the 0.06% who made it happen, a signed copy of my book, a bottle of alcohol, and a fuse — since they’ve beaten the odds it’s time to celebrate. What is more fun than to burn a book filled with truths?”

George smiled, shook his head, and said, “I think you’re onto something. You are the Trojan horse about to present the material compiled by people like Robert Fitzpatrick and Jon Taylor into the public eye. I expect to see a lot of people come to your support. Maybe then lawmakers will take a closer look and strip the great American flag off of the Nu Skin building and show the world who they really are! I got your back, D — just don’t give up.”

The truth shall set us all free. Brutal honesty is definitely called for with MLM. Kudos to this courageous man fro sharing his story!

Kudos indeed.

But just to be clear, that quote is from Diederik van Nederveen's website - Sandie's 2nd husband - the one the bitch is suing for $60 million dollars.

Among other things, Diederik claims...

The 60 million dollar lawsuit Sandie filed stated I had portrayed her as "unchaste,"

No! Really???

That website of his is a treasure trove of material.

Think Sandie can force him to take it down?

Remember...

Sandie's third ex-husband struck back with a scathing tell-all book called Formerly Filthy Rich: My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar. He published the book in October 2011 and within a week the book had been bullied off the internet. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Lulu, and more, bowed to the threats of Sandie's and Nu Skin's lawyers to remove the book. A modern day book burning!

Freedom of Speech is a privilege not every individual on the planet enjoys, but in America it's supposed to be alive and well. Not in this case. When money can bypass legal proceedings, MLMFU steps in and takes over.

That website of his next?

Would be a shame to lose all that juicy gossip!

Sandie Tillotson opened a can of worms with her frivolous lawsuit.

Yes indeed, she sure did!

So just how did NuSkin come about anyhow?

From Adam Baker:

After a little more digging, Sandie revealed to me that the NuSkin “story” was a little embellished... Sandie admitted that she was already a multi-millionaire when she founded NuSkin. She had made her millions with the Cambridge Diet, another multi-level marketing company that started out of Southern California. With her experience at Cambridge, Sandie developed the business acumen necessary to become a future billionaire. It was simple –– lie, cheat, steal, and screw over anyone for a penny.

All good Mormon values for sure.

NuSkin got its big break when Nedra found a supplier who was willing to make their product, ship it, and not charge them for 90 days. This enabled them to sell the product before they’d even paid for it. According to Sandie, all Nedra had to do was sleep with the guy.

Genius!

Over the next 20 years, this wouldn’t be the first (or last) time that one of the female founders had to sleep with someone to achieve a business goal. They jokingly referred to it as “net 90 pussy.”

I wonder if they learned that ploy in a business class at BYU?

Nedra Roney (http://diederikvannederveen.com/sample-chapters)

This chapter describes how the ''Birth Mother" of Nu Skin, Nedra Roney, seduced her own son-in-law, leading to the suicide of Nedra's adopted daughter, Tarah. (Kimberly, the actual birth mother of Tarah, has given me her full support for this story!).

1478

Nedra has been married at least 13 times, sometimes twice to the same man. Three of her husbands died while being married to her.

That's sort of like Mormonism in reverse!

Perhaps the ladies are working on a new way to attract more men into NuSkin.

One thing's for sure, their recruitment meetings would be a lot more lively than some boring MLM recruiter drawing dollar signs and pyramids on a whiteboard.

Perhaps the ladies are working on a new way to attract more men into NuSkin.

One thing's for sure, their recruitment meetings would be a lot more lively than some boring MLM recruiter drawing dollar signs and pyramids on a whiteboard.

Seems Sandie's son in-law, Jed, had some pretty lively recruitment meetings himself.

Jed invited me to a few of his recruiting “meetings.” These were lavish, over the top parties at his home, where he would give a short, hyped up presentation promising to make everyone a millionaire, for the small, one-time start-up fee of only $1200. Since he was so successful, he had nothing better to do with his time than to help others become multi-millionaires too –– at least, that’s what he promised. People were sucked in by the promise of an easy income, and the lure of a big new home and fancy cars.

As soon as Jed closed the deal, sometimes signing up 30 to 50 new distributors in one party, he would eagerly begin helping the new recruits, usually young couples, recruit others. He would pay particular attention to those who had nice-looking wives –– after all, the wife would probably be the one doing the recruiting, so Jed took it upon himself to make house-calls during the day, while their husbands were at work. Jed, and a couple of his buddies in the company, one close friend of mine named Ryan Fry (everyone knew him as Ry-Fry), and Jed’s upline partner, Charley Patterson, made it a recreational sport to seduce the young wives and get them into bed, all under the guise of helping them make money

It soon became a company scandal when several husbands figured out the gig after their guilty weepy-eyed wives confessed to their extracurricular activities with the Nu Skin recruiters. Several of these enraged husbands filed complaints with the company, demanding that Jed lose his position. Nu Skin decided to make an example of someone, and sure enough, they would publicly fire a top executive for the shenanigans. They fired Ryan.

Sample Chapter Meeting Nathan Ricks

JANUARY-1995 Meeting Nathan Ricks

“Ladies and gentlemen, here is Nathan Ricks, the man who has redefined Network Marketing, he is a legend and leader that has been with Nu Skin since the early years. He's going to explain how you too can make it in this business.”
David had called me about this meeting at least a month ago.....

David, however, was visibly comfortable in his role, he even seemed proud to have brought me to the lion’s den. He had been involved in this MLM (multi-level-marketing) deal for years, knew who everyone was, and possessed the perfect personality: approachable, likeable, unafraid of rejection, and determined......

as everyone suggested, I’d need to invest heavily more time and money. Both of which I had little, but if I didn’t “commit” and “go for it” it would never lead to anything. Most of my friends advised adamantly against MLM, urging me to learn more before taking a leap of faith. (http://gator1886-diederik-primary.hgsitebuilder.com/sample-chapter-meeting-nathan-ricks) Despite how good those brochures looked, I felt as if I was joining a religion and said so to David, who laughed and said, “Well, you got to believe in something, might as well be a religion that makes you money.”....

it took him about twelve minutes to explain why Nu Skin was so much better than all other opportunities... not one word about the products yet...

When I realized that all the money generated from my first level sign-ups, before becoming an executive distributor, would go to my “up-line” or sponsor, in my case fellow actor David Christian for his effort of “coaching” me, it didn’t make that much sense to me. It merely told me that Nu Skin didn’t believe in me until I had burned up my warm market and I would only be paid a commission from anyone they signed. Nathan made it crystal clear; he’d not take any of us serious unless we got in at “a thousand points.”

“Why would I take you serious if you don’t take Nu Skin serious?” He blurted in the microphone. With one point to equal one dollar, it was for most us a lot of money to invest in something that had not made much sense to me and several others who shared their concerns with me later. Nathan, aware of the deflating murmur traveling through the room said, “Remember, look at what you are getting; a company, products, a ‘hands-free,’ seamless compensation plan and awesome leadership... for only a small investment.”
Obviously Nathan's talent was (and still is) to create “sense,” out of the whirlwind of data and stories that spoke of a different world, a promised land where all dreams come true;....

David wasn’t the first one to pursue me; a woman before him had tried. She prospected me when I was cashing a check for $2,000 for my work on a film at the bank. She stood behind me and leaned over, looked at the check, and said, unblushingly, “Two grand? Uh, well, I know a deal that can generate that kind of money every week.”....

I saw her sitting at the bar in a mini-skirt and push-up bra. I knew I had to be on my guard. Women do not meet men in mini-skirts for a business meeting unless they expect whatever it is they’re after will require their “assets” to be thrown in to get it. They know what the basal, fatal attraction can do to our mostly primitive, one-track male minds. She turned around, smiled, grabbed my hand, pulled me in, and laid it on thick using the subtle separation of her legs to get me off-guard when she kissed me on my cheeks accompanied by, “Don’t you Europeans do it this way?”.....

I looked at her and wondered how many other guys had fallen for her sexy charm and joined Nu Skin just to see her run around in her minis—crazy.

Besides being unprofessional, I didn’t feel that I was anything more than a warm body in her mind.

Since the products are over-hyped and over-priced the top distributors have to sell a little meat it appears. This dishonest business model --- MLM needs to be shut down!!!

Now that I have taken my shower after reading these links, I am still shaking my head at the absolute debauchery of the founders and their family members. I knew the business model sucked, just not literally.

Why does anyone need 20 automobiles and 4 airplanes, let alone justify them?

Now it remains to be seen how much longer Nu Skin can last as a viable company with all this dirt being made public. And there is more to come I'm sure. I will be taking a lot of extra showers over the next few weeks reading this sordid tale as it unfolds. I only wish I had waited a few hours after having lunch before reading this. MLM is quite dirty in more ways than one to be sure! I hope the Advantage Conferences rep that claimed she turned down Jack Weinzierl will write her own book! Now, we know why so many soap operas went off the air. How could those shows compete with the MLM behind the scenes shenanigans!

Let's not fail to include a $50,000,000, 8,000 square foot penthouse apartment atop the new AOL Time Warner building in that list.

It was the only apartment Sandie couldn’t stop talking about- the idea of buying the most expensive, exclusive penthouse in Manhattan would give her the instant New York socialite status she craved. This would be a purchase certain to make the papers, and solidify Sandie’s ranking as one of the richest, most powerful women around.

Of course, she managed to steal it for only $29,900,000.

Just wonder how many hungry kids that kind of money would feed in Nu Skin's “Nourish the Children” charity?

You know, the charity that Sandie hated because she had to touch and give out candy to, in her words, “the filthy and AIDS-ridden African children.”

My stomach turns every time I read new details about this woman.

Interesting thing is, Sandie's second boy toy husband, Diederik van Nederveen, pretty much corroborates Adam Baker's story, even though he hates the guy's guts.

He has a chapter in his forth coming book entitled "Formerly Filthy Rich (http://gator1886-diederik-primary.hgsitebuilder.com/sample-chapter-formerly-filthy-rich)" that talks about Adam's book.

Helps explain why Sandie went on a book burning binge instead of hauling Adam into court and suing his ass off. Kind of difficult to sue someone for libel if what they're saying is true, isn't it?

I'm sure she couldn't take a chance of him getting on the witness stand and opening his mouth.

The very act of bullying others to ignore the first amendment, playing judge and prosecutor, without allowing Adam to present his “evidence” in a court of law is indicative of exactly the kind of flawed, MLM-character that Wall-Street-company investigators have asked me to comment on. In their eyes, despite the libelous tone, his book must therefore be true; taking him to court would otherwise have easily proven him wrong. But to them, the media attention these long-winded legal proceedings demand are of little value.

What is it that Nu Skin and Sandie are hiding?

If you haven't read that chapter, by the way, it's certainly worth a read.

There's enough material in there to start a half dozen separate threads. :RpS_wink:

The juicy excerpts must be saved for posterity. No doubt Sandie will spend much of her fortune fighting to get that stuff removed.

Soapboxmom

Somebody should make certain they have a backup copy of that e-book before it disappears into cyberspace.

Hint, hint! :RpS_rolleyes:

Sandie and her high priced legal team managed to get Adam Baker's web site shut down.

Nu Skin lawyers forced all web sites that posted the book to remove it.

Within a week after he published his book in October 2011, the book had been bullied off the internet. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Lulu, and more, bowed to the threats of Sandie's and Nu Skin's lawyers to remove the book.

In itself another great example of the corruptible power of money when one of the web sites, The Rip Off Report, who holds firm to their irrevocable policy of “non-removal of all postings”, decided to give in to Nu Skin’s book burning obsession!

MLMFU (Multi-Level Marketing Fraud Uncovered) claims they won't kowtow to 4Skins demands. :butt_kisser:

I'm not too sure about that.

A reader on Diederik van Nederveen's site asks:

What has happened to Adam Baker? Where is he and how is his life going? His book was posted on MLMFU(dot)com on the Nu Skin page. It will be interesting to see how long it's able to stay on there before it's bullied off again.

That's what I'm wondering too.

Now I know SBM loves a good scrap. I'm thinking she should be prepared to slap up a copy of the book once MLMFU is forced to take down their copy.

It would be great to watch her go toe to toe with 4Skins high priced legal team as they try to get her to remove the book from her site! :finger:

Man that would be awesome! :RpS_thumbsup:

I am still shaking my head at the absolute debauchery of the founders and their family members. I knew the business model sucked, just not literally.

http://mlmfu.com/image-files/trionedra.JPG

Nu Skin was founded in 1984 in Provo, Utah, by Nedra Roney, Blake Tillotson and Sandie Tillotson.

http://mlmfu.com/image-files/triosteve.JPG

Success brought money, lots and lots of money, and Nedra became addicted to drugs. It didn't take long before Nedra was asked bluntly to "stop coming to work" because of her behavior, and Steve Lund was brought in to take her place.

Source: ... Multi-Level Marketing Fraud Uncovered - Nu Skin (http://mlmfu.com/nuskin.html)

The founders of Nu Skin belong to the Mormon Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints -- LDS).

~Blake Roney is soon to relocate to France where he will serve as LDS Mission President for three years. "Brother Roney," a former bishop in the LDS church, performed the marriage ceremony for Sandie Tillotson and I in 1995.

~Steve Lund currently holds a "General Authority" position in the Mormon Church in the 5th Quorum of the Seventy.

It is important to note that both of these positions Lund and Roney hold are considered to be honorable and are only staffed by temple recommend-holding, active Mormons. One of the questions these two men would have been asked in order to determine their "worthiness" was, "Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow men?"

~Nedra Roney, sister of Blake, was raised Mormon.

~Sandie Tillotson was raised Mormon but told me the religion was not for her.

~Derek, Sandie's son, served a two year Mormon mission.

~Craig Tillotson, Sandie's first husband, was raised Mormon and served a mission as well.

~Clara McDermott, Craig Tillotson's mother, a Mormon.

~Nathan Ricks, married to Craig Tillotson's sister, Joyce, a Mormon.

~Craig Bryson, married to Sandie Tillotson's sister, Kathy. a Mormon.

Romney Campaign Backers (http://diederikvannederveen.com/romney-campaign-backers)

The board of directors for Nu Skin consists of eleven individuals, of which approximately seven are Mormon or of Mormon upbringing.

Why does it matter what religion anyone belongs to?

When I signed up as a Nu Skin distributor I was very much concerned if Nu Skin was Mormon-run or affiliated with the Mormon Church at all. I was assured that Nu Skin was a Utah based business and nothing more. Several individuals have stated that they had the same concerns when they signed up as well. In fact, the new distributors in the Asia/Pacific area are greatly concerned about this, and yet, are not hearing the truth from their sponsors. Why not?

The Nu Skin-Mormon Church connection is whitewashed out of conversations. New potential recruits are being told blatant lies concerning this topic because it would make a difference in recruit numbers and Nu Skin knows it. And yet, Nu Skin plays up the Mormon card in Utah, portraying themselves as honest, fair, hardworking, charitable, honorable individuals because they know the majority of Utah belongs to the Mormon church. Mormons are more likely to join a company run by other Mormons verses a company run by drinking and smoking sinners.

Unless the distributors from the other parts of the world travel to Provo, UT, and see the Mormon Church's presence so nearby, literally, they'll never know.

Doc Bunkum, you are my hero! Along with everyone else here on this forum who supports the downfall of MLMs in general. I started MLMFU back in June after months of deliberation and research. I hate MLM with a passion and want to see it eradicated. I also want to see the lawyers who defend MLMs and their crooked leaders held responsible for manipulating the legal system for their gain. Other sites like this one have dumped Doc Bunkum's thread on Adam Baker. It seems everyone is scared to death of "Defamation Lawsuits" and they quickly hang their heads and run away from a fight. I can't blame them, it costs money to be sued. I guess that's why I'm drawn to Diederik van Nederveen's story. He's being sued for $60 frickin million dollars and he's not backing down. I've communicated with him a few times, nice chap, and he laughs openly about the lawsuit. He says he's not worried about it because he has the truth, facts, and first hand knowledge on his side. Now he has scientists and forensic specialists who are coming forward to discredit the claims of Nu Skin. Diederik says he guesses that Adam Baker's book was bullied off because he mentioned the Bio-Photonic Scanner as being a scam. It was Nu Skin's lawyers who did the bullying, not Sandie's, even though the book was more about Sandie. Diederik just posted a new page and update about the Bio-Photonic Scanner that should have Nu Skin squirming like a worm on a hot rock.

I agree that Diederik's website gives plenty of info for many threads on this site. I see his campaign as having an effect on the world of MLM altogether. My site is new and I'm adding info as often as I can. I have Adam Baker's book on it and I don't plan on removing anything! I have not been contacted by lawyers yet, although some of the more recent stuff that's surfaced might get me a response from Melaleuca's monkeys in suits. I'm not worried about being bullied. I did my homework when selecting the host for my website, just like Diederik. Too many people, like Adam Baker, just build websites not realizing that the hosts have to answer for the content. Adam's biggest flaw was going with GoDaddy with his site. They don't like fights or battles and folded quickly. He had a couple sites that started and then were shut down. I learned from his experiences and did a lot of investigating into hosting companies who don't bow down to threats. There's a lot of them out there and if for some reason my host is shut down, I'll hop on over to one of the many others and re-post.

For now, I would welcome any stories or communications anyone wants to share.

Maybe if we ask her nice she'll make this thread a sticky and pin it to the top of the board. :RpS_rolleyes:Something tells me this is going to turn into a run away thread!

BTW, I'm not sure if you've found a similar thread to this I started on Quatloos! (http://www.quatloos.com/Q-Forum/viewforum.php?f=5), but that's another site that isn't going to cave into any threats of "Defamation Lawsuits". They've got some pretty sharp lawyers moderating that place and they'd relish a good skirmish.

I'm not worried about being bullied. I did my homework when selecting the host for my website, just like Diederik. Too many people, like Adam Baker, just build websites not realizing that the hosts have to answer for the content.

Reminds me what happened a while back between Lifewave and Bob Burtis who was running World Wide Scam at the time.

Lifewave threatened legal action, not against the WWSN, but against the Domain Name Registrar (Network Solutions) that controled the WWSN name and they disabled it. The CONTENT for the WWSN was hosted elsewhere - all Network Solutions does is direct Internet traffic. This is similar to what Travelogia.com tried to do before their program collapsed and died, except THEY went after the web site host. Lifewave attacked the people who simply direct the flow of information on the web.

How's that for First Amendment rights and due process?

Lifewave was effectively holding the WWSN hostage and would not release it until their demands were met. Sort of like an MLM version of Al-Qaeda.

For now, I would welcome any stories or communications anyone wants to share.

This from the Nu Skin scandal cover-up Formerly Filthy Rich (http://scam.com/showthread.php?t=146021) thread:

No doubt about it, that's one vile book! But I made it through and only dry heaved once. My thoughts are this guy entered into a relationship that he felt would improve he and his childrens lives but right away it went down the drain. Its understandable that he'd want out once he met Jen, someone who would give him the one thing all that money would not--affection. Sandie handled the divorce like a typical scorned woman hyped up on millions of dollars, that too was understandable.

A previous poster stated the book is libelous and I would agree, but usually when a book is written and put out to the public containing libelous content, lawsuits ensue. That didn't happen in this case, or it doesn't seem to have happened. The book and its websites and press releases have been pulled because of threats and intimidation from Nu Skin lawyers. Joe Alfieri stated it in one of his articles on the Examiner... well, before they pulled the story.

I find it clever that BJean, whoever that is, put the book on ripoff report where it cannot be taken down by money or lawyers. (Wrong) I surfed around on that site and found many libelous claims about many other people. Adam Baker's book is in good company there. I'm glad there is at least that one outlet where the first amendment of Free Speech is upheld. (Certainly not Ripoff Reports. More likely RealScam or MLMFU (Multi-Level Marketing Fraud Uncovered)).

I've always known MLMs were bad news and the people who formed them were crooks, but this really upset me to see the incredible over-the-top spending/wasting of money. My meager paychecks are a pittance compared to the kind of money mentioned in this book, but, I'm happy and loved and there's food in the cupboard. I wonder how much money is being spent to try to hush this book. If no lawsuit was filed and no court order was given to pull the book, then the contents must be true, that's all I can say.

To which a NuScam tool took exception:

i actually work for the company, none of that is actually true. having been here for 3 years i can tell you Nu Skin is not a scam and it does more good in the world with its Nourish the Children and Force For Good then a lot of other companies. You should really research the company before comparing it to other MLM

BigMac took exception to raeder's post and replied, giving up an awesome link in the process:

Their 'humanitarian' efforts mimic the Mormon church where the members or distributors make the actual charity contributions. Nu skin only pays administrative costs. You might think that's all fine and dandy but keep in mind that those are tax deductible and these ubber-rich crooks spend more on vacations and new vehicles and more houses and jewelry than they spend on administrative costs to be these 'humanitarians' you have on a pedestal.

You say you've worked there for three years? I bet you didn't know that Sandie evicted Adam and his children at christmas time and then went on to be the high bidder at the sheriffs auction and then turned around and sold the house to a nu skin employee profiting 400K. My son wrote this letter right before Christmas in 2008. He was 9 years old at the time. When a little boy is that age, a few days before Christmas he should be dreaming of all the toys he is going to get on the “big day”, pining over the ones he might not get – and making sure he’s been a good boy all year so Santa doesn’t forget him. Not Korbin. Not that year.

Korbin disappeared down to his room right after dinner. My sweet little blonde haired son Korbin, who was usually jovial and fun-loving, who liked goofing off and watching re-runs of SpongeBob, was all of a sudden sullen. He reappeared back up into the family room a while later, with this piece of paper in his hand.

“Dad. I wrote Sandie a letter.”

He handed it to me. I quickly read it, and a tear welled up in my eye. I fought hard to hold it back.

“I thought maybe if I sent her a letter she wouldn’t take away our house.”

Nice one, Sandie.

Christmas time.

What a kind, wonderful, thoughtful, caring human being you are, Sandie. Definitely a credit to the human race and the Mormon church.

Know that old saying about what goes around, comes around?

Book Burning in America & More Stories Not in the Book (http://bookburninginamerica.blogspot.ca/2011/11/book-burning-in-america-more-stories.html)

This is the Adam Baker story. The story not told in his book. This is the Adam Baker story told by one of his very close friends, who has been there with him through it all.

You see, I have known Adam since we've been little, and I've seen everything he has done, experienced, flown, married, and crashed. Adam Baker is a guy that even alpha males can get a "guy crush" on - not because he's the best looking guy, but because he's a guy with BALLS. Because he is the guy who is not afraid to say what he thinks and be who he is. Even most of us self-proclaimed "alpha-males" are still living our lives for someone else - trying to be, buy, impress, whatever you call it.

I read his book, cover to cover. I begged him not to publish it, because I knew Sandie would come after him with her "assassins" and her other on-the-payroll "thugs" and "merchants of deception."

Makes sense now. I was confused over just who's blog this was, but I think I understand who's writing. There's both Adam and a friend contributing.

Sandie was, and continues to be, a merciless and nefarious woman who knows no God other than the "God of money." No, that creepy woman with the facelift in the youtube videos that talks about being a great mother to her kids and this wonderful Grandmother? Hogwash. I've seen it. The woman detests kids, her own, and especially "other" people's kids.

Not only is the "loving mother" persona a sham, so is her entire past. Sandie hails directly from Nazi's who escaped the Nuremberg trials, and the Neaman's still pass around old family photo albums at family parties, proud of their "SS" heritage. The cold and soulless blood that ran through her forefathers veins certainly did not escape Sandie, no, she is very much a thriving, calculating individual with enough venom in her pinky finger to incapacitate the entire island of Manhattan.

Every decision in Sandie's life is a calculation of risk to reward. Each person in Sandie's life is there, not because they like her as a person, but because of what they hope to get by being present in her ubiquitous "court." I've been at parties and seen people actually start shaking when they meet Sandie, as if they've just met Jesus or the President of the United states. What kind of an idiot would behold someone and put them on a pedestal simply because they have made a lot of money? Sadly, that is what we as Americans judge each other on and place most value, the accumulation of material things, not the actual true nature and deeds of the individual person.

Neaman - I've never seen her maiden name mentioned before. Good to know!

Nazi lineage. Proud of their "SS" heritage.

This just keeps getting better and better!

Book burning in America: a tale of Nu Skin (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2803401/posts)
by Joe Alfieri (Examiner.com) November-06-11

There are moments in a person’s life that shake you to your foundation, that cause you to rethink everything you think you know, moments that hit like a two by four upside your head. Just such moment arrived for me late on a Friday afternoon.

A friend of mine, let’s call him Adam, since that’s his name, has self-published a book, Formerly Filthy Rich, My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar. . . .

Now his book is at the very least R-rated, and it’s an account of his six year marriage to Nu Skin co-founder Sandie Tillotson. Nu Skin, for those of you who don’t know, is a multi-level marketing company which sells skin care and nutrition products through a network of independent distributors.

Nu Skin thinks he knows too much, or at the very least says too much, and on this particular Friday afternoon used its team of lawyers to shut down distribution of Formerly Filthy Rich by Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Let me say that another way, in case you missed it: they got the book banned. A figurative burning of a book, but in the world of electronic publishing a burning none the less. A burning worthy of Nazi Germany, or Fahrenheit 451. Book burning and censorship in America, friends. . .

(Excerpt) Read more at examiner.com ...

Don't bother trying to read the rest of the article at the examiner- the on-line newspaper - Sandie and her team of lawyers got to them too.

http://www.examiner.com/conservative-in-san-francisco/book-burning-america-a-tale-of-nu-skin This article gives more info on how Nu Skin was able to get the book pulled from B&N and Amazon. (link) (http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,338060)

There must have been some pretty damning information in that article!

Unfortunately, no trace of the original article exists on the web that I could find.

However, not all is lost. I did manage to find a copy of what must have upset Sandie and her hot-shot lawyers so much.

Thank you Jon M. Taylor at Consumer Awareness Institute for preserving this!

"BOOK BURNING IN AMERICA: A TALE OF NU SKIN"

This article by Joe Alfieri describes how the book Formerly Filthy Rich;My Scandalous Life with a Billionaire Cougar, by Adam Baker, husband #3 of NuSkin founder Sandie Tillotson, was banned from distribution by Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com. NuSKin's attorneys. Quoting the author:

"Nu Skin thinks he knows too much, or at the very least says too much, and on this particular Friday afternoon used its team of lawyers to shut down distribution of Formerly Filthy Rich by Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Let me say that another way, in case you missed it: they got the book banned.

A figurative burning of a book, but in the world of electronic publishing a burning none the less. A burning worthy of Nazi Germany, or Fahrenheit 451. Book burning and censorship in America, friends.

The lawyers argued (at least to B&N, their story to Amazon was quite different, which we’ll address in a moment) that the book was defamatory. It may be, but defamation is best argued before a court of law, where each side presents its case. Adam says he stands by every word he’s written, and is ready to produce witnesses. If that’s the case, then there is no defamation. Nu Skin says burn the book anyway, before anyone gets to read it. Barnes & Noble rolled over and pulled the book from its website quicker than you could say, oh, Sarah Palin. The Joe McGinnis book about Palin, if you’re keeping score, is still available, even if it is defamation, or claimed to be.

The story presented to Amazon by Robert S. Clark of Peer Brown Gee & Loveless of Salt Lake City, said nothing about defamation, but the result was the same. Nu Skin argued that the material in the book was not Adam’s. Baker says that of course it’s his story, and is ready to produce his drafts and copyrights to prove it. No matter, Amazon has pulled the book “pending investigation.”

Earlier in the week Adam’s WordPress blog was shut down, and although he hasn’t gotten word as to why from notoriously slow to respond WordPress, one has to think there’s something of a pattern here.

And here then is the Thumper betrayed Bambi moment, for me, dear reader. I celebrate and proclaim on a continual basis, loudly and very proudly, the freedom we enjoy as Americans, even as I watch good people slandered, lies told, and reputations destroyed in the press on a daily basis because of that freedom. I tell myself it’s the exchange of ideas in a public forum, and that the truth will out in the end, that it’s the price paid for freedom of speech. And that we all enjoy that freedom, that we’re all equal in the marketplace of ideas and free speech. But I am shaken by this story of David and Goliath, by the idea that a woman with over a billion dollars and the company she owns a good deal of can prevent the publication of a book that might do them harm, even if the tale is true. I’m shaken by the story because I can’t imagine it happening in this country, where we supposedly value the truth, unvarnished, and equally distributed. Am I wrong? I’d like to think that David will slay Goliath, because if he doesn’t, then perhaps all is lost, and those mobs on the street in Oakland braying against evil corporations may have more truth in them than even they know."

SALT LAKE CITY — A Nu Skin Enterprises executive filed a lawsuit Monday, suing an ex-husband for defamation.

Van Nederveen also represented to the public that Tillotson "used corporate aircraft to transport illegal drugs to Asia, that the business she founded is an illegal pyramid scheme, and that she previously worked as a prostitute," the lawsuit states...

I tell you, looking at that photo, if that woman has one more facelift she's going to have to start shaving.

Time for some fact checking:

The Quiet Listings
By Max Abelson (http://observer.com/author/max-abelson/) 2/03/09 11:33pm

In the middle of these cartoonishly dismal times, what’s a cosmetics executive to do if she wants to ask nearly $100 million for her penthouse? She’ll put it on the market without actually putting it on the market, just like a venture capitalist, a widowed philanthropist, a pharmaceuticals mogul and a Victoria’s Secret billionaire have recently done.

According to two sources, Sandie Tillotson, the senior vice president and co-founder of Nu Skin Enterprises, a massive direct-selling cosmetics company (products include a Creamy Hydrating Masque Nourishing Treatment and IceDancer Invigorating Leg Gel), has quietly put an $80 million price tag on her Time Warner Center penthouse. She paid $29 million for it in early 2005, and renovated the condo from about 8,300 square feet of raw space into a five-bedroom pied-à-terre.

One reason for the spate of these very hushed listings is embarrassment over asking such huge sums during such a hugely depressed time. On the one hand, sellers don’t want to seem uncouthly, insensitively ambitious; and then again they most certainly don’t want to seem desperate: “Some of the prices are so egregious and greedy,” a broker who has one of New York’s biggest listings said this week. “Why would you put the thing on, have friends speculate on why you would or wouldn’t be selling? You do it quietly, and if someone gives you the right number, then great.”

Considering that no single piece of New York residential real estate has ever sold for more than $53 million, is it slightly awkward to be asking $80 million for an apartment this winter? “No, I don’t think so,” said Sotheby’s broker Eva Mohr, who confirmed that she’s handling Ms. Tillotson’s penthouse, and will be the listing broker if it officially comes on the market. “I think people have something in their mind, and if that’s what people want to ask, then that’s what they’ll ask when they’re ready to ask it.”

Ms. Mohr wouldn’t discuss her client or the apartment except to say, “It feels like you’re sitting on top of the world. You can see all the way to the Tappan Zee Bridge, and you can see all the way up to Connecticut, and all the way over to Pennsylvania.” She paused and thought about that, then said, “I think it’s safe to say you can see all of New Jersey.”
Clearly, while the desperate masses are on autoship for Nu Skin, the founders and top reps are living the lifestyle of the rich and famous off of their backs. Adam Baker's story about this purchase is factual.

Adam Baker's book, Formerly Filthy Rich, really made me think

AUTHOR: TheoB (http://www.ripoffreport.com/civil-rights-violators/nu-skin/nu-skin-nuskin-systematic-cor-10726.htm) - (United States of America) SUBMITTED: Tuesday, November 22, 2011

I have been approached regularly by independent Nu Skin distributors; some of whom are actually related to me. I wouldn't have responded to Adam's book had I not attended a Nu Skin opportunity meeting and experienced the deception first hand.

Adam's book was sent to me by an acquaintance who has been an active distributor but never had much success and is rather disgruntled. After reading the book, I found some of it hard to believe, but he sure got me to surf the web and I was appalled at what i found.

Reading the postings by independent journalists clearly shows a level of ignorance that I had not expected from people in her position. Several other individuals seem to have fallen for the abuse dished out by Ms. Tillotson. A while back I heard about a Park City based divorce case describing Adam's ex wife Sandie in unflattering terms, but I got online to find it and it seems to have vanished. It irks me that a large corporation will simple strong-arm and remove any negative material even if it's true, all to protect their precious image. Who else have they abused and silenced.

I also wonder why they need lobbyists if their business was up to snuff. In any case I will be watching the development of this debacle with great interest. I hope it leads to more protest and action from other victims of Nu Skin. I'm really surprised there aren't more blogs on the web about it.
Trust me, Theo, there's going to be plenty more info about Nu Skam - most of it not too flattering I might add - that's going to be published!

I cannot comment on anything to do with NuSkin; much of it may be true. However I know Adam and I know him to be the most dishonest, decetful person I have ever known. He has no skills, cannot read or write (his latest wife probably actually wrote the book). He was hardly a star of any ice shows, he helped his family run a small ice rink. He got his first wife pregnant when she was 16, and proceeded to have total of 5 kids with no means of support. He was always on the take. Somehow got a loan for a house, never made any payments and lost that, then moved his young family into a self storage "closet" without heat of water or toilets for a time. He used each of his kids social Sec # to obtain credit for loans for cars, furnature at places like RC Willey with no intention of ever paying for a thing. He became a male stripper, abandoned his 5 kids and married again. Then left her and married Sandi. Adam is not smart - you can only imagine what her standards must be like. But in Sandi's defense, she took in his 5 kids, paid for things they needed, took them on trips and after their split she still supported them quite a bit. Adam has paid nearly zero child support to date ! Adam is on about his 4th marrage - always looking for someone to take care of him, because remember he never got past about 8th grade and has no skills except stripping, ice skating and spending someone else's money. He can't be trusted so take some of what he says with a grain of salt from a scorned lover as well.

The previous statements is hilarious!

Here is a woman who claims she was Adam's lover and tells the world what a loser he is in the same sentence, lol
Who makes that the biggest idiot of the two?

I don't know Adam well, other then seeing him at some NS functions, but Adam married successful woman (at least the last two), while she who says to be a former lover states that he is an idiot but fails to mention that he has a pilots license, dances like only a few guys can, and has done quite some other stuff that most man love to do but simply do not or can not.

Despite all that, from what I have seen, he is perhaps not the brightest light but that may be due to lack of education. However, again, maybe it is the woman who sleep with him that should be blamed for doing so if they really felt that he was a leeching loser.

What ever Adam or any of her other lovers are, for Sandie, a shareholder of a billion dollar outfit, to marry a fellow like him speaks of her more than it speaks of him. Given her history, she is the one to question.

I also read online about the drama surrounding Ron Gratzinger and some of her other lovers. She truly has a screw lose but gets away with it because of her wealth which enables her to manipulate reality. Exactly that is at trial here; the ability of the 1% of the super wealthy to abuse and manipulate the 99% who can't defend them self.

All of this dirt on Sandie or Adam doesn't changes NuSkin's deceptive business model. It doesn't remove the fact that NSI is run by a bunch of LDS (mormon) freaks whose obsession to enter the next realm, free of Earthly stains, (while ripping people off on a grand scale), should be upsetting the masses.

Ask your self how it is possible that a brainwashed cheater like Blake Roney who is now heading on a Mormon mission slime balls his way in to an imaginary, illusive heaven after life, and/or Sandie who's acting all charitable and sweet on camera but then will abuse her power to hurt people in her private sphere, blowing millions on her egoistic lifestyle. (Read Adam's book).

So, again, is Adam really the bad guy for exposing these dirty manipulators for what they are?

I am a former employee of a company that supplies NSI, and when it comes to NSI, I have seen it all, and some.
They maybe big and powerful, they may even look good on the outside, but now, since that curtain is lifted, we get to see what is at their core.

Don't be fooled by their ability to shine and don't be mislead by the reward they give a few on top who suck dry the masses who lose!

And certainly do not ignore their abusive business model and personal behavior!

Whatever you believe, ask any basic CPA BEFORE you sign up in to their bs and waste your time and money!

Diederik van Nederveen's response to Adam Baker's book is very telling:
http://diederikvannederveen.com/updates

In October of 2011, Sandie’s third ex-husband, Adam Baker, published a book about his marriage to her titled, Formerly Filthy Rich. I warned Sandie via e-mail that her way of dealing with Adam’s book was a clear sign of negligence to honor her fiduciary obligations, which require her to always try to avoid drawing negative attention to herself and Nu Skin.
At the time, I was trying to assist in the situation after Mark Roney (brother of Nu Skin co-founder, Blake Roney) asked me to try to communicate with Adam. Instead of facilitating the process, Sandie’s lawyers purposefully disrupted my already feeble communication with Adam Baker and his book went on to spread like wild fire.
Had she made a sincere effort to handle her divorce fairly, Adam wouldn’t have developed the festering hatred toward her which drove him to write the book. I know so because I too endured her manipulations while I was trying to bounce back after the divorce. This had serious implications to my relationship with our daughter and it is her own behavior that triggered me and later Adam to take a closer look at her and Nu Skin. In my case, leading to my discovery of the clear and utter deception committed by them.

When Barron's reporter Bill Alpert called Nu Skin he was told that Adam Baker and I are "engaged in desperate attempts" to gain more favorable treatment from Sandie and disrupt Nu Skin activity for our personal advantage. I am no Adam Baker fan but what he did via his book is lash-out in a libelous fashion after being abused. And what I am doing is expose the truth which includes the absurd behavior by Sandie, Nu Skin and some others (including my own--as can be read in my book) because it is the only way available to us to make a point: enough is enough.

Remember, Sandie blocked my communication with my daughter after hustling me for years for no good reason... while abusing millions of people around the world with her Nu Skin scam.
Instead of looking in the mirror and admitting to the massive exploitation these Nu Skinners commit, they ridicule Adam and now also me (and anyone else who tells the truth) while going on with their deceit and abuse.
All I can say is once you see the pile of data I have you'll know who the real "Saints" are.

All I can say is once you see the pile of data I have you'll know who the real "Saints" are….

The issue about “Extortion” is another fable because I never demanded money with the threat of releasing a book. During the conversation with Nu Skin’s CEO, Truman Hunt, who called me in April of 2012, he asked me how much I thought my book was worth. I told him that publishers estimated the value to be about fifty million dollars with global sales, but I never asked to be paid by him or anyone for it.

The other claim her lawsuit makes is that I supposedly have said or written that Sandie was a prostitute. She totally ignored that it was Adam Baker, not me, who wrote in his book that she bought her first sports car with her earnings as a teenage prostitute. I never publically said anything to that extent and I will never write anything on my website nor in my book on the matter either. By accusing me, Sandie only urges people to now ask, “Is it true, was she a prostitute?”

Then, I never claimed that she would risk her freedom by trafficking drugs or money out of the country when her income is several millions per month; this wouldn't make any sense.
What makes her attack against me so laughable and devious is the fact her lawsuit was supposed to be “private,” closed off for public viewing. It was a blessing that it was “leaked” by a court clerk who “misplaced” the file. If it had not been leaked, no newspaper would have exposed the truth of her illegal abuse of power and mis-use of the legal system.
I am not sure which one of her lawyers had the less than brilliant idea to either follow her advice to make these allegations or suggested she includes them in the lawsuit. Whoever it was, it sure helped me make my point: Ms. Tillotson will do nearly anything to get her way and hurt people, even if she looks like a fool as a result and takes her company down with it. That is one of the main reasons, in my opinion, why she was told to vacate her spot on the Nu Skin board of directors.

Just weeks ago Sandie contacted Ron G. and did what can only be described as “intimidation of a witness.” She fears that he will tell what she did to him and expose her absurd, illegal and unethical use of her financial power.
Her actions against me are in many ways exactly that. I was a witness to many of the illegal, deceptive or abusive insanities of the Nu Skin world and now I am not allowed to speak to my own daughter and I am being sued for 60 million dollars based on false charges, and she seeks a court injunction to silence me. What else will this lead to?
It is this aggressive bullying by her and other 1%-ers that is feeding a global rebellion and it is no accident that people like myself are exposing companies and individuals who resort to tactics designed to manipulate people to go away and be quiet.
The focus is the millions being harmed by Nu Skin.

It is hard to believe anyone would fall for this blatant display of extortion. Sandie is one of the kindest, most generous, and loving people I have ever met. I have had the wonderful blessing of being a long time friend of hers and would stand with her until the end.

To me Sandie is a wonderful inspiration. She was born in very humble circumstances (her father being a carpenter in Long Island, NY). She moved to Utah at age 17 to go to BYU on an full-ride academic scholarship. After graduation she became a high-school science teacher while her first husband, and current best friend, Craig worked on the oil rigs. They both had big dreams and began to explore entrepreneurship... They chased the American dream and defied all odds by turning a little Provo company into a Billion dollar publicly traded business. Is she perfect? Who is? But she is definitely not the person this extortionist is trying to make her out to be. Along her journey she has blessed the lives of millions. One example Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation (http://www.forceforgood.org/ffg/global/home.html)

What you have with this whole Adam thing is one man that "got rich quick" without paying the price Sandie did to get there. He lived in opulence for a while but he did not have the emotional character forged by the journey to keep it together. He blew it. Now he wants more $$$ and is resorting to extortion. That's illegal by the way... Extortion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extortion)

Adam never mentions that Sandie still takes care of his kids financially... Not out of a court order but because she loves those kids. She has even given each one of his kids a college/schooling fund. One of his daughters used these funds to go through hair school. Oh, and she has had all of Adam's kid over for Christmas ever years since the divorce.

----

Now about Nu Skin. People have sited 99.6% as a failure rate of some kind. That is also untrue. I joined Nu Skin years ago, not to make me a millionaire, but so I could get products at wholesale. I didn't want to keep bugging Sandie for product :-) It doesn't cost anything to sign up as a distributor.

So technically I am a distributor (part of the 99.6%) but like the majority of distributors in the company, I joined to get the products at wholesale. And I love the products! My experience with Nu Skin has been a complete success despite my lack of Nu Skin millions.

I know other distributors that joined Nu Skin to make a car payment or a house payment. These people would also fall under the "failure" category despite having reached their individual goals. Individual success does not necessarily require making the kind of money the .4% makes.

In conclusion, Sandie is an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. She is up on a pedestal because of her success and people "throw rock and thing that shine." I love Sandie with my whole heart. :RpS_love:

And the follow up rebuttal to the above post:

Big Money Can't Buy The Truth

AUTHOR: Voice of Reality - (United States of America) (http://www.ripoffreport.com/civil-rights-violators/nu-skin/nu-skin-nuskin-formerly-filthy-d0aab.htm) SUBMITTED: Sunday, May 06, 2012

In response to the above comment by Voice of Reason, I have a dose of Reality. It's perfectly clear that Sandie Tillotson and/or Nu Skin posted that comment to build up the character of Ms. Tillotson. Best friend you say, stand with her till the very end? I hope you don't have a boyfriend or husband because she'll soon be in bed with them. She's done it before to her 'Best Friends'. Sandie Tillotson has a long history of abusing her ex-lovers, even filing false charges, as I've found on the internet.

The book, Formerly Filthy Rich, which was removed from this original post by Nu Skin's ruthless lawyers, is still floating around out there in cyberspace. It's only a matter of time until it finds its way onto a site where it cannot be 'bought off'. These sites do exist, mind you.

The 'Blessed the lives of Millions' with the 'Force for Good' charity crap stated above is Nu Skin's way of looking good while the distributors are the ones who are paying the money to purchase items through 'Nourish the Children' (a FOR PROFIT initiative -read the fine print listed on the inside back cover of the current product catalog.) Posing for a photo with starving children means nothing really. Now, if Sandie was to show her charitable contributions that she claims on her taxes, that would be something to defend.

As far as her claims of Sandie working so hard to get the company going, it's not true. Sandie is just the token face. Clara McDermott is really the one who was the driving force from the early beginnings. Clara is Sandie's ex-mother-in-law.

The above poster said: "What you have with this whole Adam thing is one man that "got rich quick" without paying the price Sandie did to get there. He lived in opulence for a while but he did not have the emotional character forged by the journey to keep it together. He blew it. Now he wants more $$$ and is resorting to extortion."

I guess the fact that Sandie Tillotson chose to marry a stripper and drag him into the 'opulent' lifestyle has nothing to do with it?

When a woman, who is on the board of directors of a publicly traded company, decides to marry a stripper a decade and a half younger than her, and then needs to have her 'friends' try to reestablish her credibility because said husband gets upset when his silver spoon is taken away, the question needs to be asked... Why was she allowed to remain on the board of directors with a personal life that was so out of whack? Don't the shareholders have a say in the type of people allowed to be in control of the company they invest in? Actually, they do. Their voices are heard every time the share price drops like it has recently.

The above poster says she only wanted to buy wholesale products from Nu Skin and that the 99.94% failure rate is bogus. My response to that is, even wholesale price is waaaaaaaay too much money for shampoo that makes your scalp itch and turn red. Question- does she pay the $100 a month minimum to remain 'active'? Does her friend who only wants to make a car payment pay $100 a month minimum to Nu Skin? Most likely so. Nu Skin's #1 product is listed on the first page of the catalog in the first three words--AN UNSURPASSED OPPORTUNITY. It is the product that is promoted the most often at their high pressure sales meetings and its not even a product at all, its an opportunity. If the above poster or anyone one else for that matter loved the Nu Skin products so much why don't they just buy them for the full retail price and not become part of the 99.96% failure rate. For a publicly traded company trying to appear successful alongside the other Big Boy companies, they should really be trying hard to improve the failure rate of the distributors. They could do that by encouraging people to buy retail UNLESS they really want to push the business and are properly motivated to do so. It's possible the failure rate could improve. But that's not what a Pyramid Scheme does. They are dependent on you and others like you 'buying wholesale' and paying out $100 a month.

So, before Sandie Tillotson and/or Nu Skin tries to defend her character or the company's #1 product, they might want to open their eyes to the way the rest of the world perceives them.

Diederik van Nederveen

On May 21st, 2012, one of the instigators of the 'NuSkin' racket, Sandie Tillotson (b. 1957), filed a malicious lawsuit in a Utah state court, in which (amongst other things) she falsely-accused her ex-husband, Diederik van Nederveen Meerkerk (b. 1965), of being responsible for the dramatic fall in the value of 'NuSkin' shares. Rather than face up to reality,Tillotson, who is an executive vice president of 'NuSkin' (on an annual salary in excess of $800 000) and who apparently remains the largest individual holder of effectively-valueless shares in this ongoing criminal enterprise, now steadfastly pretends that, as a result of Mr. van Nederveen talking to Wall Street insiders, she has, so far, personally lost $60 millions.

This week, I have been in contact Diederik van Nederveen, who is currently writing an account of his life as the second of Sandie Tillotson's three trophy husbands. Far from being the wild money-grasping liar (whom Ms. Tillotson has portrayed in her recent lawsuit), I found Mr. van Nederveen to be a free-thinking individual (trying to maintain his sense of humour) who now courageously accepts that, for seven years (1993-200), he lived under the influence of a pernicious cult leader who exhibited the diagnostic criteria of severe and inflexible Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Extracts of Mr. van Nederveen's forthcoming book are already freely-available on his Website.

Ms.Tillotson's ill-advised lawsuit against her ex-husband has already attracted the attention of the media; particularly, Barrons Magazine. However, when the wider-evidence is examined, what she and her attorneys are doing, clearly constitutes a further attempt to obstruct justice and, again, it fits into an overall pattern of ongoing major racketeering activity (as defined by the US federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, 1970, and clarified by subsequent US Supreme Court judgements).

One of the many, major beneficiaries of the 'NuSkin' racket who will be increasingly worried by this latest media interest, is, undoubtedly, Mitt Romney. Indeed, senior members of the Republican party must be monitoring this rapidly-developing 'Mormon/MLM' /Wall Street scandal. In fact, I can't be the only person beginning to wonder what odds might be available with a bookmaker on Mr. Romney suddenly coming up with a plausible excuse to withdraw from the forthcoming US Presidential election.

Time for some fact checking:
The Quiet Listings | Observer (http://observer.com/2009/02/the-quiet-listings/)

According to two sources, Sandie Tillotson, the senior vice president and co-founder of Nu Skin Enterprises, a massive direct-selling cosmetics company (products include a Creamy Hydrating Masque Nourishing Treatment and IceDancer Invigorating Leg Gel), has quietly put an $80 million price tag on her Time Warner Center penthouse. She paid $29 million for it in early 2005, and renovated the condo from about 8,300 square feet of raw space into a five-bedroom pied-à-terre.

Clearly, while the desperate masses are on autoship for Nu Skin, the founders and top reps are living the lifestyle of the rich and famous off of their backs. Adam Baker's story about this purchase is factual.

Soapboxmom

She paid $29 million for the place in 20005...

But guess what she got for that kind of money?

A fixer-upper!

The $30 million bought 8,200 square feet of raw space - little more than concrete walls and floors and basic bathroom fixtures. Ms. Tillotson, an executive vice president, director and co-founder of Nu Skin Enterprises, had to bring in her own design team to create a living space, at a cost of millions more.

I just had a lovely chat with Diederik van Nederveen. He is an incredibly caring person. Our hearts go to those harmed by their involvement in MLM...

I wonder what Adam Baker himself is up to these days?

Doesn't seem to be much about him that's new on the net.

Wherever he is, he must be in all his glory seeing the publicity Sandie is getting because of that great book he wrote!

Would be great to locate him and have a lovely chat with him also!

This is red hot news. Thanks "scratchy." I will make sure that this news reaches Scamland thread.

Doc has started a new thread about the real news behind the sex and sensationalism, where the real issues are discussed and I am anxious to get real journalists in UK to read that thread and ignore the Murdoch type sleaze. I can not find that link at present as I forgot to bookmark it last night but when anybody replies to this thread please link to it and add that story.

SBM has also started a serious thread about NuSkin's business model in China and it is worth your reading that one.

More corroboration of Adam's story.

From his book:

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS

Chapter 10

Sandie and I, with our friends Sherri and Spencer Plummer decided that the Britney Spears concert in Vegas was an event not to be missed. Spencer and Sherri were an unusual pair. Spencer, a handsome, tall, dark haired retired CPA, had made his millions showing other millionaires how to take advantage of the tax loophole created by owning livestock and racehorses. Most of these people had never seen the horses they owned, most had never ridden a horse, but they enjoyed the millions in tax relief from claiming interest and ownership in foreign “breeding” operations and shady horse sperm trading...
So how did that deal about millions in tax relief from horse sperm trading work out anyhow?

Racehorse breeding tax shelter operators plead guilty (US) (http://tuesdayshorse.wordpress.com/2009/10/27/racehorse-breeding-tax-shelter-operators-plead-guilty/)

Oh, look. Rich folks may be wearing stripes, again.

http://tuesdayshorse.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/zebra-head-shot.jpg?w=560

They got caught in a cash for foals scam by donating lots of dough to racehorse breeders so they don’t have to pay taxes and can afford more jets, or something.

Anyway, they got caught and decided to say okay, we did it, because nothing much is going to happen to them anyway.

Well, that’s how we see it.

Let the always adorable Associated Press tell it really is:

"Federal authorities say three men have pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in a scheme that allowed wealthy people to get tax benefits from investments in Thoroughbred horse breeding.

The U.S. attorney’s office for Oregon said Monday the scheme cost the federal government $200 million in tax revenue.

Acting U.S. Attorney Kent Robinson says the scheme was nationwide.

The government identified the three men as David Plummer; his son, Spencer Plummer; and an accountant, Terry Green.

The government says the operation known as ClassicStar was based in Utah, where Spencer Plummer and Terry Green lived. David Plummer was identified in court documents as a Texan.

No sentencing date was set.”

What's even more interesting is a follow up comment by a reader obviously aware of this scam...

David and Lee Brower not only promoted this scam put adulterated the deal in such a fashion that many Utah millionaires got involved. Among them Terry Dhiel Nu Skin co founder Sandie & Craig Tillotson and several others.

Lee is just as much a scammer as the rest of the bunch and Sandie has since dropped him from payroll as her investment advisor. Lee also threatened Sandie’s European ex husband Dietrick Van N. who came to Lee’s office to sign over the marital properties, to accommodate a harmonious divorce between him and Sandie. (Very reliable sources).

Now Lee banks on selling little rocks to profit from “gratitude.”

Quite a character.

She got both books banned, didn't she?? Bet she won't keep them quiet forever and people can still read them.

Considering it costs a minimum of US$100.00 on autoship to remain active BEFORE expenses, the average earnings the great majority of US based NuSkin distributors are pathetically low.

Speaking of Ron Gratzinger, I take it that it's this gentleman?

I see some of Diederik's chapters are back up - the one about meeting Sandie isn't.

I've temporarily removed some of the "Sample Chapters" to honor the pending legal proceedings. I am confident that all of the chapters will be reactivated soon

Fair enough.

But just to be safe, I think I'll post those missing chapters in the Diederik thread. I know there is a link to a pdf copy, but I'll format them just as they were on his website to make for easy reading.

After a rather harsh review of his book, I received a polite email reply from Adam Baker.

As I had supposed, he left out many, many experiences he had during his involvement with Sandie Tillotson and focused on those stories that would entertain (and warn!) a male audience on the benefits and drawbacks of being a "kept" man of a billionaire older woman.

Well, a controlling, paranoid, amoral older woman who relied on cosmetics, not health, to appear attractive.

Adam doesn't portray himself as an innocent victim - he actually had an pretty accurate intuition that his relationship with Sandie would be a stormy one, filled with difficulties - but his portrait of Sandie is devastating.

And all too truthful, to judge by the enormous efforts her lawyers are making to make this memoir "disappear". I don't think they will succeed.

It is a short, fun read and a fascinating look into the world of the ultra, ultra rich few people on this planet will experience.

If Sandie Tillotson was a woman who took excellent care of her face and figure, a woman who treated her romantic partners like fellow human beings, this book could have never been written.
