Wazzub appeared sometime in late 2011 claiming to be some sort of "Profit Sharing Phenomenon", that they will put up a customizable home page, with ads and games and 'deals' and such, and people need to invite other people to join. The more people are invited (referal tracking IDs are given to all registered members) the more "$Factor" one gets.

The launch date was first set to April 1st. Upon realizing their joke, they changed it to April 9th, the May, the June, and now is rescheduled to August. Whoever runs this thing is anonymous. They have one MLM guy, Gee DaCosta, out touting this thing.

I managed to track down Michael Anthony DeBias who is definitely linked to this outfit. I am pretty sure he penned most of the website.

What's really interesting is now, in order to weed out all those "fakers" who registered multiple times, they are now requesting EVERYBODY AROUND THE WORLD to scan their ID and upload it to them.

Research company DIY Wazzub, Perfect Internet, GIT Global Investment, what is this alleged opportunity? (http://kschang.hubpages.com/hub/Researching-a-company-online-is-it-a-scam-or-not-This-is-how-to-do-it-yourself-DIY)

Sadly there will be people who will do this and not realize they are being set up for identity theft. This information is "gold," and will be sold many times over. The people harvesting this information will reap untold millions.

I pointed out that they've been victim of "foot-in-door" sales technique: first give up the e-mail and name, then more profile info (for the "community website", they say, you must enter a real name!) Then they slip in this "additional verification"...

They don't realize that they really ended up on a sucker list: a sucker list consist PURELY of people around the world who BELIEVE in the idea of "easy money".

I'm so saddened I wrote another blog post about it, and linked to the Verge article
