re: Dealing with a Cyber Stalker & Cyber Bully / "Soapbox-Momster-Cyber Stalker of the Abyss." Don A. Holbrook (SMOTJ)

Don Allen Holbrook piling on the BS in desperation to empty more pocketbooks:
    Why Invest In Film

Film investment is demonstrably rewarding compared to the low risk to the equity invested, the film property has a long shelf life and even in slow or sluggish financial markets and times, people still seek entertainment as a viable low cost outlet for their stress and personal enjoyment and has been proving to be very resilient even during these very challenging times.
Film investment has the potential for significant upside in a fairly rapid format within 12-24 months of investment and maintains a revenue stream for a fairly significant long period of time, in many cases well over a decade.
Our expert management team will employ risk management techniques to minimise downside potential.
A film does not have to be a box office success in order for an investor to make money – sound financial structuring and tax efficiencies can make a significant difference.
Revenue Streams include pay for view, cable channels, theater release, DVD sales and special promotions.
Our management team has taken significant steps to minimize the actual risk and create realistic strategies to get the principal returned in pre-sale strategies and distribution channels.

Katherine Ryan, Film and TV Producer3.8k Views • Upvoted by Jens Wuerfel, film semiotician | lived and slept inside a video store for two years | studied film and drama at u…, Jon Mixon, Well over 13,000 movies by now.

I would say that the average investment return is way in the negatives, if we are including independent film, since the vast majority of those never even receive distribution.

“Only invest with experienced producers and financiers,” says Martin Smith, founder of West Bridge Consulting, an advisory firm specialising in arts, media and entertainment.“Single picture financing does exist, and will always, but should only ever be contemplated by investors who really know the business and who are willing to take on a very high level of risk, because most independent pictures lose money on a box office or equity return basis,” says Mr Smith.
One way for funds and their investors to be more confident about the risks involved in chasing returns from investing in film is to ensure that some of the movie’s revenues are locked in before it is even made. Nik Bower, co-founder of Riverstone Pictures, a film production and financing company, says professional investors often “look for films that mitigate production risk through pre-sales”.

Pre-sales involve agreeing contracts with distributors, often based on the script and the cast, while a film is in development. The buying and selling of rights often takes place at important film festivals. Such agreements allow a loan to be taken out against the pre-sales deal to help fund the film.
The historic plunge continues. The desperate attempts at promoting his numerous piles of trash have gotten him nowhere! First there was the historic Titanic, from Holbrook we get Earthquest (24 million in tax dollars evaporated), worthless books and now a fantasy film.....

Required Reading: Top Ten Books for Economic Development Professionals
Required Reading: Top Ten Books for Economic Development Professionals

    November 10, 2011

I was recently meeting with someone new to the economic development profession and she asked me: “What books should I be reading to better understand this new world?”
The question led me to put together a “top ten” list (with the help of some ED professionals/avid readers noted at the bottom of this post).
So here’s the list in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. Click on the image for more thoughts, but it’s a mix of well-known bestsellers along with some more narrowly focused books on our profession. All are in print and available on Amazon.
Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised that a number of our colleagues identified “Good to Great” as a must-read for economic development professionals. Personally, I felt so strongly about Collins’ message that our entire company read the book and dissected it in a series of “bag lunch” discussion groups. Collins and his research team analyze the performance of 11 publicly-held companies that made the leap from “Good to Great” as well as comparison companies that failed to advance. It is a roadmap for any organization – including economic development groups – that want to make the leap from “good to great.” " data-medium-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-1.jpg?resize=185%2C270" data-large-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-1.jpg?resize=185%2C270" height="139" width="99"> This book created a firestorm in the economic development world. A professor of regional economic development at Carnegie Mellon University when published in 2002, Richard Florida outlined the emergence of a new social class – the creative class – and how their choices are driving a fundamental change in the American economic structure. Challenging much of the conventional wisdom about economic development and community planning, Florida argues that the liveliest economies are characterized by talent, technology and tolerance. Follow up books by Dr. Florida include “Who’s Your City?” and “The Great Reset.” " data-medium-file="http://i1.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-2.jpg?resize=250%2C250" data-large-file="http://i1.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-2.jpg?resize=300%2C300" height="17" width="211"> Thomas Friedman is one of a kind. In “The World is Flat,” this Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times columnist delivers a concise analysis of globalization at the dawn of the 21st century. Written in 2005, “The World is Flat” discusses how the convergence of technology and communications is “flattening” the global playing field and what that means for communities, companies and individuals. His follow up books including “Hot, Flat, and Crowded” and “That Used To Be Us” are equally insightful, demystifying the rapidly-changing state of America and the world. " data-medium-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-3.jpg?resize=200%2C300" data-large-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-3.jpg?resize=213%2C320" height="139" width="96">
“The Company Town” is a historical tale of American corporations, from the cotton mills of the 1800’s to Hershey to Google, which developed entire communities around their organizations and attempted to control every aspect of life there. Green describes two different kinds of company town: the paternalistic, utopian ideal which fosters development for the community and the “exploitationville” which focuses only on profits at the expense of employees’ well-being. Starting in the early years of American capitalism, this book is an excellent analysis of how the American economy has evolved and how such communities are transforming and developing in our modern society. " data-medium-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-4.jpg?resize=197%2C300" data-large-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-4.jpg?resize=673%2C1024" height="140" width="95"> This is a book by one of our own. Ron Kitchens has led economic development organizations in Moberly, Missouri; Corpus Christi, Texas and Kalamazoo, Michigan. “Community Capitalism” focuses on Kalamazoo and tells the story of how a spirited community worked together to revitalize their struggling economy. Kitchens outlines a new economic development strategy to show that urban communities that seem distressed can be empowered by focusing community resources into five key areas: place, capital, infrastructure, talent and education. " data-medium-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-5.jpg?resize=250%2C250" data-large-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-5.jpg?resize=254%2C254" height="17" width="159"> The United States population is growing at a record rate and is projected to add another hundred million people by 2050. While this may spell doom and gloom for many people, Kotkin believes in quite the opposite outcome. “The Next Hundred Million” is Kotkin’s optimistic and well-supported prediction for the American economy when it reaches 400 million people, forecasting a new “green” suburban landscape with more virtual jobs and more diversity. Drawing from a wealth of research and historical analysis, Kotkin provides a comforting argument for how the United States will develop into the most culturally-rich and competitive nation on earth. " data-medium-file="http://i1.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-6.png?resize=196%2C300" data-large-file="http://i1.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-6.png?resize=270%2C414" height="139" width="94">
For anyone who has ever sweated over making a cold call to a potential investor (and that would be most of us), it’s time to read “Selling to VITO.” The book is a blueprint of how to successfully reach and get appointments with the top decision makers, the “Very Important Top Officers,” in any organization. It is required reading for anyone within DCI’s Prospect Development/Qualification (PDQ) team. " data-medium-file="http://i2.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-7.jpg?resize=200%2C215" data-large-file="http://i2.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-7.jpg?resize=200%2C215" height="142" width="136"> In this collection of a dozen Harvard Business Review articles published between 1979 and 1998, Michael E. Porter examines how to thrive in the brutal international and domestic economies or our times. Based around three categories: Competition and Strategy: Core Concepts, The Competitiveness of Location, and Competitive Solutions to Societal Problems, these articles combine economics and management to emphasize the importance of long-term planning and geographical location, as well as develop a framework of competitive strategies that all business, government and financial leaders should follow. " data-medium-file="http://i2.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/book-8.jpeg?resize=198%2C300" data-large-file="http://i2.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/book-8.jpeg?resize=320%2C486" height="139" width="95"> In this marketing classic, Al Ries and Jack Trout explain how to use their concept of “positioning” to distinguish a product in an overcrowded marketplace (and you won’t find a more crowded marketplace than the economic development landscape). While using success and failure stories of real products, the authors cover all the important positioning principles which have become key aspects of the marketing, advertising, branding and product management professions. As timely and relevant as when it was first published in 1981. " data-medium-file="http://i2.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-9.jpg?resize=199%2C300" data-large-file="http://i2.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-9.jpg?resize=332%2C500" height="140" width="96">
As co-founder of GIS Planning Inc., Anatalio Ubalde is well known within the economic development world. The book takes a close look at how the Internet and social media are combining to change the landscape of economic development. Ubalde and Krueger explain the basics of dozens of emerging tools and why they matter to today’s economic developers. " data-medium-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-10.png?resize=198%2C300" data-large-file="http://i0.wp.com/aboutdci.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Book-10.png?resize=264%2C400" height="17" width="218">

Don Holbrook says: Andy and others I think my original Little Black Book on Economic Development has been so well received because it sheds light on what economic developers must deal with to do their job effectively. Most recently I have written a book that takes us through a discussion of how we get America back on track post global financial crisis, called “The Next America; Moving Beyond a Fragile Economy.” I think it will prove to be a #1 best seller in our industry just as the Little Black has proven over the past four years. I am including a link to the latest book here:
    https://www.createspace.com/3578465
Also all my three books are available on Amazon and KIndle for purchase. Cheers and Thanks for putting this topic together. Happy Holidays
    Don
Notice that Jeff Finkle is on the list of those selecting the top ten books and that Don Holbrook, the Blowhard, is not included. Holbrook of course couldn't resist plugging his own books, which everyone completely ignored.

It is also in keeping with the "unique" nature of the operation,( from two Greek words, unum meaning one and equine meaning horse!)
It seems like in this "industry" common sense is not all that common!

Don Allen Holbrook is such a sick pervert. Take a listen to a passage from his murder mystery book about the revenge he wishes to exact on me. There is a reason the book isn't selling and that numerous people and entities have cut ties with this loser.

So let me get this straight. In this audio the girl was killed by having her head banged against the wooden fence post several times that fractured her brain, yet they know she was raped 5 times with no explanation as to how this "fact" was known? Seriously?

After we begin to live our lives as a young child and and we are so focused on ourselves we eventually grow out of it hopefully. Then we can evolve and find a means to provide our lives with some meaning beyond just making money. In the end if we have a higher purpose it should be to touch others in a way that adds meaning to their lives and our own. to inspire others to become better humans and treat each other with respect while pursuing our own higher meaningfulness is an admirable cause. It is not for those that just espouse to be good people, it is for those that mean to be and act as such. If we can help our fellow man that is the greatest purpose I think humanity can see and find value in someone’s life legacy. If Hollywood wanted to change the outcomes of real humanity they would produce a show solely focused each week on showcasing these selfless acts as a primary medium to influence positive change in our society. Now that would be a show I think we would all be influenced by and the cool thing is that the stories would be real and not artificial and made up. I hope that by discussing this maybe others will also discuss this need and perhaps I can create a spark that will become viral and generate the change I think we could all use at this time.

Book sales thrive as the real life stalker foams at the mouth with her frothy online malicious posts. What I find entertaining is that the stalker from my own life has made such an effort to claim the fictional story is really about her. That proves just how mentally disturbed these Sócio-paths really are. Anyone who has read my book knows the stalker in the book was created from an environment where her mother was a Carne circus whore and taught her daughter no morals other than to use people and survive at any cost. So to lay claim to being related to my own fictional characters means Heather Dobrott is saying her mother was such a woman and her own background is that tainted. Wow not a nice way to think of your mother as Mother's Day approaches. But then according to messages I have received our Texas Menace has raised her own Mini-version of herself as her neighbors have told me her own daughter is a neighborhood nightmare!
Talk about begging to be sued and offending the Knights Templar and Economic Developers he is acquainted with.

Brainless idiot and worst seller having plunged to well over the 5 million spot on Amazon's list, Don Allen Holbrook, rambles on. He is dumber than a rock. Libel, slander and defamation are torts and always have been. The chicken$hit loser could have filed against numerous parties he claimed were defaming him in civil court in Texas and Nevada and never did so. The only criminal thing here is the horrific losses the taxpayers are facing thanks to Holbrook's theme park from hell. 24 million for bupkis while he and his cohorts made millions off of the unsuspecting taxpayers!

Soapbox-Momster The interesting thing is how my own stalker has tried to now assert the story is not fiction and is somehow about her. Of course that's absurd unless she grew up as a circus Carne and her mother was a lady of the night well paid for her bedroom skills as part of a traveling circus! So, the story is 100% fiction as are the characters. Contrary to my own stalkers assertions. I was inspired to write about this topic after having to deal with a real life stalker. The biggest problem of social media is that defamation is a civil offense and not criminal. If we passed a law for criminal defamation it would shut most of these social media stalkers and Internet predators and trolls down permanently. Most of them aren't worth chasing in civil court because they have no real economic value to mitigate the financial damages they falsely create about others. But their posts can devastate people economically causing them to lose their jobs and clients, embarrass people publicly and create false social stigma about people and ruin families mental well being. Chtistine can lead to severe depression and sometimes suicide. This is a REAL social problem and needs to be addressed by Congress and the State Legislatures. I hope you all enjoy my story of a blogger that gets the tables turned on her by her victims families.

So, congress is never going to address this as it is only an issue in the mind of the Windbag moron, Don Allen Holbrook who can't stick his snout in the taxpayers $$$ trough!

The biggest question to me is how much more stupidity will flow from this moron's piehole. Dude's head doc needs to serious consider lowering the dosage on his Zanax.

Don Allen Holbrook is so incredibly stupid. This is perfect material for a civil suit. The only reason I haven't sued him is that I know he is practically a pauper and is uncollectable. He is in the hock up to his eyeballs. I don't think Bluegreen and the Knights Templar / SMOTJ are going to find his continuing meltdowns amusing. Public business suicide...
