Thread: Academy of Multilevel Marketing

In watching the Cathy Wilcox video there were a couple of very interesting things revealed. The first was that Cathy is Len's ex-wife but also his second ex-wife. The second was he admitted he had not renewed his membership in MENSA. Len did not bring up he was in MENSA, Cathy did. He did reveal a lot of personal insights that I found very interesting, and it was very clear why they are divorced.

To his ever lasting credit, it appears Lenny hasn't jumped from wife to wife as many times as he has jumped from company to company.

Wonder if Cathy got his downline in the settlement?

The whole thing is bizarre. You'd think someone with an alleged IQ higher than 150 would aspire to achieve something in life. Why in he world would you end up chasing an MLM opportunity and then trying to cash in on training and speaking. Makes you look like a shyster in the likes of Kiyosaki or those other wealth gurus with no bonafide credentials.

TAMM awards were selected by a group of 100 MLM industry leaders, experts, and experienced veterans.

Why doesn't Lenny give us the names of these 100 exceptional people?

  Len Clements It's so frustrating and disheartending when I see videos like the one I just watched. This young, seemingly smart guy, who has been very enthusiastic about MLM, and appears to have tons of potential, mentions he was in Zeek Rewards, then FHTM, and now WUN. And now, if he follows the typical scenario, he's going to give up, and tell everyone what a "scam" MLM is. <deep sigh>

That poor kid has learned his lesson the hard way. I would love to see Clem Lemons produce a list of the MLMs he has vetted as legitimate, then all the hapless and desperate masses would know what to do. LOL!!!!

A list of legitimate MLM's? Right! Shortest list in the world!!!

I want to give credit where credit is due. Len has been the subject matter expert in 20 very high profile cases in which he testified. Of those 20, 7 of the cases resulted in convictions for his side, 10 of the cases were dismissed with a settlement, plea deal or case withdrawn, and 3 are still ongoing.

I do wonder if Len was the expert witness for the side who lost their case, and which cases they were? This is not to imply if they did lose Len did anything wrong.

I think your first mistake is thinking these are somehow 'high profile'. lol

This post isn't meant to be funny. All I can think about while reading this thread is something similar to the Prison Industry Awards aka "A SLAMMY"

BTW, Lenny, how come you don't have a slide on your home page, along with the other 2013 recipients, announcing Herbalife as "Company of the Year 2013"?

As has been reported publicly, Herbalife is now under formal investigation by the Federal Trade Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Canadian Competition Bureau, as well as a criminal investigation by the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. The New York and Illinois Attorneys General have also recently disclosed investigations of the company.

The irony would be amazing if Hebralife had won all the MLM awards only to get shut down by the FTC 2 years later. I wonder how Len would defend that?

I could see an MLM apologist saying Herbalife was legal when they won the award and saying they should keep it.

Seriously though, I don't know Clem Lements well enough to know if he's that radical or not. I just don't see what he's actually accomplished in all his 30 years of MLM that would give him any kind of a "wow" factor.

BK Boreyko: The CEO and founder of Vemma is BK Boreyko.

Turns out, BK's real name is Benson. I also found out that Benson had a Multi-Level-Marketing company in the 90's (extremely similar to Vemma) called New Vision International Inc. This company had a product they called God's Recipe (yes, I am being serious) and claimed to cure ADD and ADHD in children. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of the USA disagreed with this claim and Benson and his brother were SUED.

Maybe he brags about his IQ because he's trying to cover up his feelings of inadequacy and a lifetime of underachievement.

Although this award is worthless, I get the feeling that by giving this to Yoli, Lenny is expecting something in return . . . whatever that may be.

Agreed. The whole thing sounds like a joke. You can kiss up but awarding something to an MLM company and then hope they move you up the pyramid or at least give you some kind of kick back.

Len seems to be an interesting character, but I question the "smarts" of someone who devoted all that time to defending a shady industry like MLM.
